I'm still thinking Kellogg. I just hate that to look there during the day, you need to try and find a place to park. I ended up spending $5.50 on parking yesterday and of course didn't find anything.
I'd like to go a'huntin' today. Trouble is, I have no clue where to go! At least in previous years I had ideas about 2-3 parks. Do you think they'll EVER narrow it down for us in an upcoming clue??
I want to go out looking now, but I can't get off work till 4:30, I'm hoping it stays hidden at least until tomorrow, as I plan to be out looking ALL day :)
One other thought, maybe someone has brought this up... Seeing as alot of these clues can point to quite a few parks, and I see nothing in the official rules stating this can't be done... Could the group responsible for the medallion hunt at the PP move the medallion if they think people are getting too close? I know most people will probably instantly say No! they can't/won't move the medallion once it's been hidden before the hunt start. I'm just thinking if they're keeping an eye on it to make sure it's still in it's hiding spot (i.e. if someone picks up the thing it's in and tosses it or something else happens to it, plus the fact of them telling you to turn it in as soon as you find it) they might also note people getting close to locating it, and if those people in the right area tend to move off....
I dunno, maybe I'm crazy for thinking that, it doesn't sound like they would do that anyways, seems like it'd be very unfair. But purely theoretically, could they do this?
anyone know anything about biking? I read somewhere (can't remember where) that a "stick" is a biking term, I know they do some sort of biking stuff at BC. Far fetched?
Hey, I was in the bathroom and I found the medallion! It was up my butt! (hehe just had to make that joke after seeing the warning about false claims of finding the medallion.)
Well if you want a debate, personally I don't believe starting at the parking ramp is the right idea. Although I don't have much evidence to debate with. I just don't think it's going to be around a parking ramp. The parking ramp may be public, but it's full of private property.
I like BC of a clue or two -like barbs being barbed wire used in war see the dome pavillion at the 94/McKnightside of the park There has to be a flag or just another term to get us to a war "battle" park cipher is a war term again hiding it where the sun doesnt shine- opposite of day is night -hense MCKnight
Oh yea, and I don't believe they would refer to the Mississippi as a storm. While you can perhaps make some parallels between the two, it's not a natural conclusion to draw and I don't think they would expect people to get that. I think if that showed up in the official explanation of the clues, people would be like, "What?"
I like Cherokee for a clue or two - like Indians theme speaking "among us"
see the Capitol Dome stay away from the storm sewer drain area Cherokee Blessing idea OR triple E you need tennis shoes to play Tennis and century fence around the tennis court
Adding to that Allison, I don't think they'd put the medallion in or near a parking ramp, because having people looking around cars and wahtnot can cause all sorts of trouble.. Cars driving by, people accidentally damaging cars.. people calling the police about people wandering around cars...
I'm sure a clue about cereal is coming, but probably not until Clue 10 or even 11. Actually, the next thing to watch for is them NOT giving us street names. Kellogg Blvd would be rather obvious. And out of Wabasha, Cedar, Minnesota, and Robert, I don't think any of them border any other parks. So to give even one street name would pretty much give away the park if it's there.
I was going to ask the same question.. let me expound.. is it the same medallion every year? or a new one? I've never seen a picture of a real one either.....
To me the medallion seems elusive in more ways than the most obvious being I haven't found it :) Never seen it, only know the basics about it, it's plastic (unless that's a myth) and everyone wants it :)
I think the PP website had a picture of it a couple years back. What they showed us was a light blue, kind of see through, round plastic looking hockey puck type thing.
Don't know if they use the same thing as the medallion every year or not.
How come we don't see more pictures either the finders take or someone near them when they found it? Seems to me if I found it, I should like to take a picture of it... does the pp not want these pics floating around in fear of forgeries?
You're right, the PP does intentionally keep the exact appearance of the medallion a somewhat obscure thing. Last year at Merriam when the finders returned and the film crew was trying to film it, a gut from the paper stopped them from getting too close. Otherwise it's about two inches in diameter, half an inch thick, and is a very pale blue color. One side has a logo of some sort for the hunt and I think the other side has instructions of what to do if you find it.
To be most precise, the instructions are to make sure you contact the Map Guy so he can evaluate the authenticity of the find. He will then give you a certificate in exchange for the medallion. The finder must rush the certificate down to the StarTribune to claim the prize.
well i"m not findin' nottin' here! Time to hunt!
Well, it's nap time. Late night of hunting coming up. Prolly go out a bit before work tonight. C-yaz

AW- I think they read these boards more than we think, I'm sure they are checking up on us to see what we are thinking and saying about them.
"A crueler crew we never knew than those whose barbs have stung us."
anyone know anything about biking? I read somewhere (can't remember where) that a "stick" is a biking term, I know they do some sort of biking stuff at BC. Far fetched?
Really? I'm afraid I don't even know who you are mre. Hmmmm, I guess they have been doing some research.
Be right back. I need to go to the bathroom.
Hey, I was in the bathroom and I found the medallion! It was up my butt! (hehe just had to make that joke after seeing the warning about false claims of finding the medallion.)
Ya AW, I was gonna tell you to check while you were in there!
Posts are kinda quiet.. everyone must be out looking... Stay hidden, little medallion....

As much as I like the KQ morning show, I think Stretch makes a whole mockery of the hunt...he can be an ass sometimes!
A thought!

I'm goin with BC for now, hopefully tonight clue will give us somthing! I have googled, dictionaried, and anagramed myself to death!

Kellogg is my next to go over once again too- rrrrr
Certainly the lack of these clues would support a park like Kellogg. then again, if it is Kellogg, one might have expected a clue about water by now.
Adding to that Allison, I don't think they'd put the medallion in or near a parking ramp, because having people looking around cars and wahtnot can cause all sorts of trouble.. Cars driving by, people accidentally damaging cars.. people calling the police about people wandering around cars...
or a clue about Cereal :)
they won't use that cuz it's been used in a previous hunt.
I'm sure a clue about cereal is coming, but probably not until Clue 10 or even 11. Actually, the next thing to watch for is them NOT giving us street names. Kellogg Blvd would be rather obvious. Allie...call so city 6514516851
Maybe they'd use it exactly for that reason, everyone would think they couldn't possibly use it again :)
You said it was found,
A false clue as a prank.
Now I, THX, will have
Your access yanked
LOL Jake!
I was going to ask the same question.. let me expound.. is it the same medallion every year? or a new one? I've never seen a picture of a real one either.....
Roving. I've seen it. Its really tiny.
Tiny like the size of a quarter?
To me the medallion seems elusive in more ways than the most obvious being I haven't found it :) Never seen it, only know the basics about it, it's plastic (unless that's a myth) and everyone wants it :)

Well way to AW. You're so honest.

StarTribune - Coldest Star. Nuff said.
Map Guy
You're evil.
Bring back the Weatherball!
Whatdaya mean, Med? Is my sarchasm showing?
