I think a lot of what's going on is people see a couple of clues fitting and disregard the ones they don't see, because I find it hard to make every clue fit at HI, at least in my interpretation of them, especially yesterday's about the sports
well of course one of the clues won't fit because one of them has to be what the thing is in....i'm choosing the make a great leap clue as the one that's it in because that makes no sense to me at all
that little park over by Union Gospel, Eileen Weida, I guess has been seriously dug up. ShovelMaster said the only way it would be there is if they picked up the park, put the medallion down, and put the park on top of it!
I probably would've keeled over too, though. I almost keeled over at a heavy bag of Lay's chips...pretty pathetic. Turned out to be ice in the bottom of the bag.
Well the PP did ask how to make the hunt go longer after last year and then someone else asked me for suggestions since I ran my own hunt, modeled after the PP hunt last March with no snow and it went 11 clues. That someone forwarded my suggestions to the PP, and I see some of them being used. For what the actual goal of this hunt is, I'd say they're doing a much better job this year with the clues. I think people would rather be confused as to the park on Clue #10 than have the hunt be completely over after Clue #6.
I've not even been to Eileen Weida, but I do know there are two other Union Gospels. One is apparently downtown somewhere and the other is by Snail Lake.
I agree Allison, for something that's potentially worth $10,000 and a trip to Hawaii and a year's worth of groceries, I think it should be REALLY well hidden, practically impossible, which is what they've done! Nobody would hide $10,000 out in the open with no snow!
Clue #9 Here's a who done it, now you've begun it To solve this mystery of sorts If I were a slueth, I'd search for the truth By playing this greatest of sports
There's a basketball player named Paul Piercewho was nicknamed "The Truth" according to something I read on the net. In a murder mystery, it is often the Butlerwho committed the crime. Pierce...Butler...you don't think it could be Newell again?
I've heard some people actually looked there because of the butt thing, what about the capitol clue though? That just seems to be the deal breaker with me for some reason!!
I was back up by Kellogg. Everything still seems to fit there, but I have no idea where they could have hidden it. Harriet Island might just be something you can see from there and not the actual park (how devious would that be?) Then I went back to Harriet because my car was parked there. There were still quite a few people, but they had all moved to the main part of the park, and I just can't see it there.
I agree Allison, I definitely don't think the main part of the park. I've definitely heard buzz about just being able to see Harriet and it not actually being there. There's a little park on the hill that you can see HI from, but it's too little I think. How does the Capitol fit in at Kellogg? I was there the 2nd or 3rd day.
I was there during the day and couldn't see it, of course I was just scanning and not seriously looking at that point. Where can you see it from?
I don't know about HI, what's the point in redoing the whole thing and then having us go down there and tear it up? Doesn't make sense. People are really trashing stuff too, saw some torn up grass, like it's going to be underground! Seriously!
There is a paddlewheel at Kellogg, but more importantly, the Carousel Restaurant is right across the street. And you can see the Captiol if you look straight down Cedar.
I don't think it necessarily has to do with a sport at the park. The clues seem awfully tricky this year. Maybe the name of a sport is all that's significant. The clue says "I'd search for the truth". What if "the truth" was an athelete like Carl "The Truth" Williams, the boxer? Maybe Carl or Williams or Boxing is the real clue. Although right now I can't tie any of those three into any park. I was only able to get Pierce Butler out of this approach.

jello would just slip right around a nail, especially if you stuck it through the jello
digging queen--thats exactly were I think it is --in one of those artifical rock thingys :) down by the telephone poles (gab)
My theory is if you can fit every clue to the park, you're probably in the wrong park.
I swear I'm going to Como tomorrow just to look at that stupid frog and the carousel, just to prove that I'm nuts
well of course one of the clues won't fit because one of them has to be what the thing is in....i'm choosing the make a great leap clue as the one that's it in because that makes no sense to me at all
I had a brief moment tonight where I thought that since you play polo with a horse that that might be the greatest of sports, geez....
night Reg
Going to bed? No way! That's not at all possible! I'm going to sit here in front of my computer until I figure these #%&^@*! clues out.
And I only have myself to blame too!
you go, Allison!
I told myself that at HI the other night, I don't care if I'm here all night, I'm going to find this stupid thing! And then I gave up about 10 to 2...
last year was better than this year by a long shot, and last year sucked!
It says "search for the truth". Another word for truth is gospel. Union Gospel Mission?
makes ya wonder who lost that shoe, wouldn't you notice you didn't have one shoe?

I think search for the truth means nothing, it's the sports part of the clue that we should pay attention to.

I was one of them Kitty! Searched the whole area by the dead end street there.
I think the Como hunt was really good, could've been better by waiting to release the park name later in the game.

I think they never intended us to find it, it was just a sneaky way to get us addicted to Krispy Kremes and to buy the paper
everyone be vewy vewy quiet....i'm hunting medallions
ya'll asleep out there?
I'm trying to make sure it's not at Newell.
was at harriet for maybe 10 minutes, gotta good laugh outta the mob at the playground, then went up to mounds for a bit
let me know how that pans out allison, especially the capitol part!
I didn't slog through all that mess, what's the consensus seem to be CG? HI still?
JonEWarmer? Not Jon Warner by chance?
Sleepless in CG...sorry, shoulda said sleepless!
I can't make any Capitol connection either.

I thought I had it tonight, but nope. Thought I had it a couple of days ago at a different park, haven't actually gone there yet. Maybe tomorrow.

They have drawings of the paddle wheels on the bridge railings, I think.

oh okay, I was too busy looking down at the ground!
wow, definitely good points allison, how about the sports thing?
Usual, aren't those doors locked though? I mean you can't really get in from the storm if you can't get in there!
the link doesn't work
I did notice on the river bank walkway that the PP donated money to the park for its revamping...very suspicious...
