I just thought maybe 2 cause it's bordered by horton and estabrook. also you can see the pool from the park. I am still bothered by the "round and round you'll get there" and the "she ran and ran/a carpenter's beau" clues. I just can't make those fit.

All those people there and they haven't found it yet.. this goose chase gets pretty wild

You don't think it'd be near the merrygoround?

I actually thought about them getting super crafty and sticking that picece of crap the same place it was last time it was in "that park".... To be honest with ya.... Whats to stop them? As long as they have some good things to back up their "clues" with... then damn... why not.

Mornin' heads. I think it would be pretty lame of thw writer to use the "round and round" clue to reference the carousel, or the fire ring, as those were the "circle" refs in the last como hunt. Therefore, I'm finding fault with that clue.

I think all of clue 10 refers to either the carousel or to the paddleboats on the lake. But the lake is so far from the triple E gate. I'm still not convinced that #7 is Estabrook though it could be. But if they're talking about the snow sculptures, and the sculptures are in zone 2, then the treasure couldn't be because it does say to cross the street.

It's a different clue writer though and they've used the same landmarks when they've used the same park before,

Oh hell, I guess now I'm going to have to go get dressed and head out there.

It doesnt really matter anyhow.. cause after its found.. or after the hunt is all over.... whatever happens first... the last place you ninjas will get to see the me n shaggs in paint, will be at the re-hash... where we will officially retire from hunting as clowns...

We told ya'll a buncha times... Como this year = No more clowns

The only way we're changing this shit up, is if they publicly apologize for hiding it at Como.... otherwise... damn... I dunno.

When it gets to about 5 or 6, when it gets dark, the big choice will be to dig or to go downtown. I wonder when they will start lining up?

I think this whole hunt has been about misdirection (and unfortunately I gave them advice on how to do it! And here we thought they hadn't listened to us!) and I don't think this clue is any different. The first line suggests Horton. The second line says to cross the street, which one would naturally assume then is Horton. But it could be Midway, putting you in zone 4. They mention the pool, which might send a lot of people there, but they mention it in a negative context, so maybe we're actually supposed to avoid the pool. That would make sense because the gate is up in zone 4.

Is that a higher zone? What about Lex?

I am a hunter's widow, hubby left to "go get it" hehe, I think I'll head up there and find him.

Yeah, this year it's all abotu misdirection, just look at all the harriet stuff... BTW that brings up a good point, how does that clue that mentions all the stuff about the lady running away from the man and a carpenter's beau fit with anything near horton?

QM, They're "zoned" in the THG

I was referring to the Treasure Hunter's Guide which has it broken up into different zones.

I don't know how to fit clue #7 yet. Maybe I'll figure it out when I get there.

My Dad just called. Just got back from Como--says it's still nuts. People just digging wherever there's woods, apparently. :)

Ahh yes, clue twelve is seeming more and more a possibility. Always a bummer with people and the cell phones and the people waiting at the parks for the call ins from the PP. I know, I'll wait at the park tonight and just follow where everyone else is running to

With any luck, clue twelve will be a tad vague enough so I can get there in time :)

.i just spent the last hour slogging through everything since the new clue. i'm not as mad as i was this morning when i was dumbfounded as to how all the previous clues fit. at least i have some explanation now.

however, the thing that makes me the most mad about all this is that i have put over 350 miles on my car in the past week driving from park to park and the whole time it was right across the street from my apartment!!!!!!!

Wed, 01/29/2003 - 10:48 AM Permalink
KC0GRN

Yeah, pretty misleading... still seems it is a tad, we all know the park, now where..

I'm thinkin' about takin' a "long lunch" and then finding it. Everyone will be pissed because I just kicked it up out of the snow on my lunch hour. LOL :)

KC0GRN

The more i look at those clues, the less it seems like it could be in the woods behind the pool at como.. I'm thinking it's elsewere in the park.

JQsGal

I think we're supposed to stay away from the pool..at least that's how I read it. Anyone else agree?
