Now that I'm out of lurkdom, I feel like babbling and noodling. Barbs- where are they found? On hooks, of course. Can also be found on arrowheads and feathers. Arrowheads and feathers can both be found on arrows. Arrows
<--> indians --> Indian Mounds, Cherokee, Cayuga. Arrows, like barbs, can hurt. Especially in battles --> Battle Creek.

New Daddy - Perhaps if the information you found didn't mention thorns or other such sticker thingys, it means the Hazelnut tree doesn't have 'em. If you think about it, it would be highly unusual for a description of any plant to state what it doesn't have...especially something like a tree.
