hey! the fairgrounds has a view of the capitol, kids. you can't see that view right now because you've gotta be in the space needle for it, but its got a view :)
did go to harriet today and saw one person actually looking thru the tall grass on the upper hill - i could see the capitol dome from the far SE partion of park but it wasnt crystal clear!!
We have ideas where it's not. Right now the main goal is to figure out what possibilities are left after this clue and then wait for the next clue to try and narrow it down some more. I think generally it takes about 4 clues before you can even really hope to have a good feel for the right park.
Just take a picture from anywhere on the web that you like (best to use a small one). Save it to your hard drive. Then go to "Your Preferences" and upload it there.
only place of by como I could think maybe being able to see the capitol would be at the top of the hills by McMurray fields, thats the only unobstructed view to the south/south east from Como
just a thought....highwood hills rec? has a view of the downtown skyline (does that mean we should be able to see the dome?) and it has a barbed wire fence.
Another option is to go to www.google .com and click on the image tab and search for the image you would like. Then follow Allison's instructions. Happy hunting huntress!
Well, I'm back from lunch and ready for a nap....but I had to check in and see what I've missed since this morning. Some of you luckies have been scopin' places out already. I hope to after work tonite or tomorrow
I was out doing some scoping but will be out doing more later. Haven't found anything that anyone else hasn't found and mentioned here.
The Capitol dome is nearby, but isn't necessarily seen from the treasure site. Nearby is one of those words that could be interpreted differently by different folks.
For example, from the Dale St. bridge there is a clear view of the Capitol. West Minnehaha is very near there and visible from the bridge. Someone could figure that was nearby and pick W. Minnehaha. On the other hand, there's the MLK park with the clear view and nearby could be just out of the viewing area.
I'll probably be downtown tonight. I don't think I'm going to bother doing too much searching today without a little better idea of what I'm looking for.
I don't live with my parents. I turn 35 tomorrow so I'm not exactly a dependent child. Well I'm going to go with the theory that it's easier to get forgiveness than permission and keep hunting. If nothing else, if I did find it, I could always give it to someone else to turn in.
John and I went out for lunch and did a little driving around. We stopped at Cass Gilbert Overlook. A couple of things: Is this or is it not State Capitol Grounds? Lots of places it could be hidden even though a small park (tall weeds and trees) Big hill, very difficult to search Places where the dome is not in view because of the hill At one end at the bottom of the hill a sign says, State Property Stay Off or Keep Off
it says photo copies, handwritten copies, and online printouts will be accepted, lee. no purchase is necessary, otherwise it would constitute a lottery, and be subject to gambling restrictions and such.
maybe you can decline the trip to hawaii if you find it - or better yet - get your friend or neighbor to turn in the booty and you can still split it with em - heck if you find it call me - i will turn it in 4 you!!
I wouldn't let it make you not hunt for it!!! plenty of peeps to help get you through that loophole if you did in fact find it!!
by the way happy birthday allison!! party tonight at 12 am at ma press to celebrate?
Did they answer?
Yes sir they did..... and it twern't pretty neither.
Fave: park with a Capitol view.
Unfave: State Fairgrounds, Cass Gilbert Overlook

Fave= Cathedral Park, Clifford Park.
Un-fave=Rand Park,O'Brien Park and Louis Hill Park.
Also like Gertrude and Bertha Parks. They are such nice ladies!
In honor of MLK: Rosa Parks!
I can't believe they gave it away so quick this year, Capitol Dome View Park, here I come

rrr
are these parks you've had bad or good experiences in??? care to shed any light on it either way???
<perk>
I think the clue is suggesting you can't see the dome from the hiding spot, but you can see the hiding spot from a place where you can see the dome.

It's definitely NOT at Como, right?? ;)
I heard there is a spot at Como you can see it from. Marley said it. Let me see if I can find it at his site.
Just take a picture from anywhere on the web that you like (best to use a small one). Save it to your hard drive. Then go to "Your Preferences" and upload it there.
thanks you!!

He said he had a picture from Como with a view of the Capitol in it, but I don't see it on the site yet.

your test works just fine, lisa.
no one that i know of, td. why?
My Dad works for Northwest airlines. Why, does that disqualify me or something?

Hmmm, I wonder how they define "family"?
usually its immediate family. as in under the same roof.
big bummer, td.

I'm so sorry for you TD....

I'm not positive, but I think for the Treasure hunt, they need to be clipped. For the drawings, you can send in pretty much whatever you want.
TD, the PP will accept internet copies or paper clippings.
It will? Huh. Last year I am pretty sure it was paper only.
it says photo copies, handwritten copies, and online printouts will be accepted, lee. no purchase is necessary, otherwise it would constitute a lottery, and be subject to gambling restrictions and such.
Okay, good to know - I always make sure I buy it, but I guess I don't have to.
Well I suppose it's a good idea to buy it anyway and thereby support the hunt and thus keep it going.

If I was going to have a birthday party, I would hope it would be somewhere more interesting than the lobby of the PP, or warmer than outside the PP.
Hey, it's Jeffrey Jones! Jeffrey, were you trying to break into the Medallionator last night? Bad Jeffrey!
Doesn't seem too likely to me. I think medallion's home probably just mean's it's hiding spot, or might possibly refer to something related to the PP.
Clear rhymes with "here". They're using a rhyme scheme that goes:
AA
B
CC
B
There's a good part of Battle Creek along Highway 61 that has a pretty good view of downtown actually. And there may be a part of Como that does too.
