I may drive around a bit and check out some Capitol views.

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 9:49 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

You may be right Steve. Trying to maintain some optimism, but after last year, not sure if these people remember how to put together a challenging hunt. I suppose these people working in today's journalistic world are too accustomed to trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator and they don't want to make the clues too hard.

notice the space before the 1st word of the second clue? Parked among us??park name in clues??

have no clue what thread we are discussing this in so here goes....

have ruled a few parks out from viewing the capitol dome - i went to harriet island and DID see the capitol dome from the far SE corner of the park - i went to LINWOOD and couldnt se squat - MLK park no dice unless you are on the school property - SWEDE HOLLOW yes you can see it - IMP yes you can see it duh!! - the nicest one I visited that had the best view of the dome was DUNNING FIELD....merriam park you cant see squat unless you climb a tree - there are several play lots where you can see the dome - carty is NOT one of them (atleast from where i stood) BOYD however ---hmmm not enough leaves and debris to ticlke my fancy----ARLINGTON - arkwright??? could be a possibility - havent checked it out - anyone else??

The guide is available at The Map Store in downtown St Paul. 111 E Kellogg Blvd, 651-227-6277 if Steve's not around.

Do I hafta ALWAYS wear pants?

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:14 AM Permalink
Scribe

Jake, thats illegal, there are copyright laws and don't think that Steve won't press them.

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:14 AM Permalink
Frosti

Well, if you fall for Carmelita the pants thing becomes optional.

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:15 AM Permalink

Also thats a shitty thing to do to a fellow Crew member, especially Steve.

Snail Lake by the boat access/beach or Snail Lake by the high ridges or Snail Lake by 694/Victoria?

can frosti comeout and play tonight??

rrr

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:21 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I'm not positive about it, but I think there are about 19 parks you can see the capitol from. Major parks anyway. Not sure about something like Summit Overlook Park.

Jake, if you copy Steve's book for anyone, you will never be allowed in here again.

Steve should get paid for his hard work.

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:23 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Unless Buggs Bar has a photocopier that they let customers use, I think it would be faster to just buy one. Then you also get it nice and bound, clearly printed (including some of the tiny type that Steve uses for just that reason) and you're not violating any copyright laws.

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:24 AM Permalink
Frosti

can frosti comeout and play tonight??

Mom! Randy wants to know if I can go and play!

Scribey, I have a few presents for you, too.

I'm sure no one ever intended to copy any part of the book without sending Steve a check.

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:31 AM Permalink
Scribe

It doesn't matter, copying that book will get you into a mess of legal trouble! I'll be the first to make sure of it!

Mon, 01/20/2003 - 10:35 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Maybe I'll have to add Dunning Field to my list. I didn't think you'd be able to see it from there. Although it still strikes me as a not real likely place for it to be. I know you can't see anything really from the clear part of Arlington-Arkwright. You might possibly be able to see it from the south end where there are lots of woods, but that part's a dark and treacherous place to be at night and I can't believe they would put it there.
