thanks all, it's a start at least, I gotta check with the map in Mr. Med's book, but according to the clues the location should me right along the creek. I'm not sure if the creek's location has changed since 57, but I'm assuing the land has been developed since then.

Isn't the secret of that game to shoot around the star and not the star itself? :goofy:

KITCH

It normally takes me 2x's...

First time I'm getting the sights down...

I'm normally shoot the first one is small little pops just to get the feel of the trigger, how many it throws, they normally throw high and to the right......and then be a jerk to the carnie and shoot something I shouldn't...like a bear if he's not looking...

I then don't shoot a circle...I then start with one of the points...about half way in...

then move on to each of the other points one at a time....one pop for each...

then..your center will be knocked out and you need to then get lucky with mopping up going around the points again....you will normally get them all but just the one last point...hopefully you got the one bb you need when you finish...

it will be close...its an amazing game and I want one for my basement....

I've been shooting those carnival guns for years and got them down....

(the cork guns are just as fun...you can get the corks to fly straight when you load them...kinda gross but you need to suck or spit on the end of the cork...so it slides out fast) Normally a carny who knows anything will not let you do this.....

Joel, I would say the 57 med had to be towards the back of the dog area in BC. I might go look out there today and see what I can come up with.

Boys Totem Town at that location since: June 12, 1913

I have read the clues for that hunt and I think they are pretty vague to get a person to that location!

when I was 13-14 yrs old, I dated a boy who went to Totem Town alot. He was also in that boys camp near Red Wing

um, what gets me goofed up is there is a 'work house' for adults near or on 120 -Century I thought - ?? ...when I was 20 I had a boyfriend who was there.

Did you date my brother or one of my freinds?

The work house for adults is on 120/Century between upper and lower afton. It butts up against Battle creek on the eastern side of BC. Looks like the creek comes out of the lake around Hudson rd on the south side of the freeway and north of upper afton and runs behind Afton Park in Maplewood and then comes out behind the water park In BC just east of Mcknight. Thats still in maplewood though. I think the creek goes underground on the west side of McKnight and continues underground till the lower part of the park west of Upper afton.

Very nice drive out that way. I went to Taylor Park today also. Parts of town I Knew were there, but never been in before.

I'll look at the 57 clues again, but didn't it say it was in St Paul? Also where was the BC water tower?

The workhouse on Century isn't that old. I might be wrong about this, but I think that when Hill High School merged with Archbishop Murray High School, the workhouse moved into the vacated school, whichever one was vacated. Hill was a boys' school and Archbishop Murray was a girls' school. This was in the early '70's.

That's the confusing part. The THG says the 57 medallion was in the Maplewood side, but Mr. Med's book (and the clues) indicate it being more on the Saint Paul side. It definately looks like it should've been in a ravine next to where the creek flows. I don't believe the creek is on the Maplewood side, but I'll check the city boundaries.

The creek may have been a ravine going west of McKnight before it was buried.

Structer of metal in clue 5 refer to water tower or 3m?

Clue 6:Fence between 3m and creek along freeway?

Clue 9 talks about the water tower and where the treasure is in relation to it. Where was the tower?

ME2?

Anyone?

Clue 13 seems to be the real answer to where it was. On "Sherwood".

Any body have an old plat map?

The creek does flow in maplewood. Just look behind the water park. I was just there today.

The structure of metal was the ski jump. I remember that part from that hunt. I think that the workhouse farm referred to what we now call Totem Town. The old reformatory name was changed in the late '50s to Totem Town because the inmates used to make totem poles out of the trees on the property. The park as it existed then was just a gorge with the creek running through it without the banks that exist now. I don't even think that what we call Zone 1 and 2 were part of the park. They closed the park in the '60's and renovated it. It was closed for quite a while. At least a year. The old entrance was right off of highway 61.

If the medallion was found south of the metal structure (ski jump) near the workhouse farm, it was found in Zone 3. And that's what I recall.

I believe it was in St. Paul just across North Park Drive from the Battle Creek Jr. High where the creek runs through the wooded area. Between Ruth and McKnight Rd.

that's how Mr. Med's book describes it OT. Thanks 3M for the legwork. I plan on dropping by the area tonight after work (got 3 battle creek medallion locations to figure out, I'm thinkin 95 is gonna be the easiest).

That would make sense about being in St Paul and not maplewood. Thats where I thought the creek was underground now. Maybe it isn't. Theres lot of deer in that part of the park.

looks like the creek is just under ground past the pond in the main maplewood section (where the water park is). Then it goes under mcknight, just to the west of mcknight it resurfaces. Didn't know about the creek east of the water park though, I'll need to check that out sometime, heck maybe tonight when I'm scouting the other medallion location.

I dont have access to a washington county plat map :frown:

back in 1931 Maplewood wasn't Maplewood (I don't think-sorry just got back from Great Waters -had a beer with a late lunch) --- and it was washington county- somehow Maplewood is now Maplewood and Ramsey County. right? k
