I thought of that spot too but AW said it would be in the park-I guess that could be considered in the park-I consider that at the lake. But that spot fits well considering that dial is off the path and it gets muddy in that area but I think to many people walk there and would accidentally pick it up to easily.
Valley Rec Center is the first place I thought the Medallion was last year. It's pretty much just a big field in front of a school in a not so great neighborhood. The joke is that most people would cross it off their lists without even reading the clues because it just doesn't seem like the sort of place one would conduct a treasure hunt.
As for your other question, well I suppose it would suffice to say, "Remember the clue..." (For those fans of "You Don't Know Jack")
I won't be home at 7 to get the next clue...but at least I'll get it when I get home.
A thought I had today was that a muddy bath caused from melting dirty snow could be in some fountain too...something large. The residue would be mucky or muddy.
2. If your thoughts are strewn and you’re in a swoon And you worry, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.” Remember the disc but try changing your tune And you too may find the stash you’ve been yearning for.
And to recap Clue #1:
1. The hunt has begun and the shining of the Sun Hath turned the snows of winter into a big muddy bath In the parks of St. Paul you’d best be careful as you run Seeking the treasure that lies off of the beaten path.
Rattle and Hum, a combination of studio and live tracks recorded during their world domination tour of 1987 following The Joshua Tree, which for some reason has been nominated number one album in another of those meaningless lists that mainstream glorps seem to like indulging in.
So Rattle and Hum is just about U2's patchiest album, but fortunately it still has a lot going for it, particularly the noted singles. "Desire" and "All I Want Is You" are just about perfect, the former with its roots-rock shuffle, the latter's simple theme which swells up into a marvellous mix of the infinite guitar and Van Dyke Parks orchestration, as well as "Angel of Harlem" and "When Love Comes To Down", which sees these Dublin punks 'discovering the roots of rock'n'roll', as the concept has it, plus "Van Diemen's Land", a ballad inspired by the transportation of convicts to the colonies, manages to achieve the tone it strives for. There are of course the points when the earnestness gets a bit nauseating, "Silver and Gold", the gospel choir on "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"? puh-leez.
But on the live version of "Bullet the Blue Sky", Bono hits the mark, putting into stark relief the US's actions in Central America, contrasted with the fake imitation of Christianity at America's core. Earnest? Yep. Hammy? Perhaps a little. The most powerful thing U2 have put out? You betcha, though "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and the more recent "Peace On Earth" get close.
The Joshua Tree 1. Where the Streets Have No Name 2. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For 3. With or Without You 4. Bullet the Blue Sky 5. Running to Stand Still 6. Red Hill Mining Town 7. In God's Country 8. Trip Through Your Wires 9. One Tree Hill 10. Exit 11. Mothers of the Disappeared released March 1987
I am leaning towards a park in St Paul. That's all of my intensive noodling that I will reveal at this time. Unless you want to call my 1-800 number for only $29.99 a minute, you can hear what I think of the clues.
Hi Med Hunter! - nice to meet you!
joe :)

AW-is that to my scratching off my list question OR St Paul/Ramsey Co question?
Good Evening!
I won't be home at 7 to get the next clue...but at least I'll get it when I get home.

That was in regard to your St. Paul/Ramsey County question. Clue #1 does actually answer that for you.
It's time for clue #2:
2. If your thoughts are strewn and you’re in a swoon
And you worry, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”
Remember the disc but try changing your tune
And you too may find the stash you’ve been yearning for.

Good One Ian!
So the song is on both albums,Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum, which one do we use?
One Tree Hill looks good.
Marley thinks it might refer to what its burried in, but not sure what.
or at, artemis. one hill. one tree. hmm ironically i can make those 2 sentences fit the tune to another song :)
Hi all is this the new board for the 2003 med hunt??
LMAO
bite your tongue kt :)
unofficially, new daddy!
For now though it's just the home of the Mock Hunt but if you haven't heard yet, the Mock Hunt has a prize of $500 and just started yesterday.
Hi Allison, I was starting to get worried, no cooler during the mock hunt!!
They can diffuse the cooler but they can't kill it.
kinda like the "you can log off any time but you can never leave" :)
Good to see you New Daddy! Any thoughts on the first 2 clues?
Hello!!!! Glad you found us, New Daddy!!!
Whatever muddy bath we're looking for will certainly be muddier now. It's raining out! Smells so much like spring!
Looks like we're noodling U2. Hmmmmmmmm
So anyone leaning towards any particular parks yet after two clues?
Yeah! Whatever park has a large muddy bath and a one tree hill! LOL!!
I drove around Marydale tonight. I can report no one looking there yet.
YES AW! We are :)
oh we're all leaning towards our parks, allison.
And let's not forget the beaten path and the shining Sun!
The first letter of each line of the first clue spelled THIS. The second clue spells IARA. Hmmmmmmm
Anagramed it could be his tiara!
hmmm.
In addition to:
1. Where the Streets Have No Name, 9. One Tree Hill & 5. Running to Stand Still
6. Red Hill Mining Town - 3M (mining)
7. In God's Country - church
8. Trip Through Your Wires - power/phone lines
Just something to toss into the mix.
I am leaning towards a park in St Paul. That's all of my intensive noodling that I will reveal at this time. Unless you want to call my 1-800 number for only $29.99 a minute, you can hear what I think of the clues.
There's something about all this that keeps yelling at me...
BATTLE CREEK!! BATTLE CREEK!!!
terry, quit stealing our noodling :) you're not, like, reading minds here are you?
I have all I can do to read my own mind much less anyone else's!

Shining Sun (perhaps a reference to the SUNray shopping center sign
