Noodle the clues here if you wish

me2

looks like just about everyone is on the same page here...we all seam to think some of the same ideas...Highland and the streets and the song lyrics...

Good job so far AW!

Any one of those songs could work...if it is a song we are looking for.

the disc idea -if not a song than disc frisbee golf...the watch tower idea from a song...beaten path having to do with frisbee golf (?) You can see the sun rise from the bridge overpass and I thought there was a sundial there somewhere. But it was nice to see someone else thought it too even if they are farfetched ideas.

I havn't tried to see how the clues work for So St Anthony yet BUT maybe you had that dream because you were thinking of me there during the WC hunt (?) I was so set on Merriam and So. St. Anthony! I have a feeling if not BC than a Hills or Heights park!

dal, i can't speak for highland, as i've never been to the disc golf course there, but on most disc courses, the paths between the pins aren't paved, thus beaten paths.

Ian's looking a bit skinny today.

And you worry, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”

Remember the disc but try changing your tune.

It implies, look to a song other than ISHFWILF but on the same disc. Given that those 20 (?) other songs contain many possibilities, it still doesn't give away too much, even though it's fairly specific.

Plus, if you "remember the disc," but CHANGE the tune -- that says to me: think of the disc, but it's not the disc (change your tune). Thus, it's not frisbee golf.

i'll admit dal, frisbee golf is kind of a long shot. my first instinct was to go look at whatever else was on the disc, so its probably the right one.

If it is a U2 cd, there are at least three U2 cd's that have the song on there. So it not only means picking the right song, but also the right disc

Sounds like it's going to be pretty foggy tonight. Now that would be an interesting time to hunt, during a thick fog at night. I wonder if anyone will feel compelled to go out after clue #3?

Hmmmm, is there something in clue #3 that you feel is compelling?

Could be that there might be a hidden clue in there that only one person notices and decides to go out after it. Could be that the one person just thinks there's a special hidden clue in there.

I have my suspicions. I won't say them just yet though....

I went to Highland to check it out...muddy bath-old pool...beaten path-there are a few dirt ones...disc-frisbee golf...you too-U2-Joshua Tree-there is a single tree that looks like a Joshua Tree..NOTE: there is a muddy creek there too that smells of sewer.

no more comments of Highland at this time...

I wanted to get my thoughts on "record" before the 3rd clue comes out confirming my suspicions.

AW capitalized Sun -- He also referenced "big muddy", "disc" and quoted U2.

My question is did U2 ever record anything with Muddy Waters at Sun Records Recording Studio? YES! It was a blues number called...... College Park!

Just kiddin' The thoughts on Sun Records and Muddy Waters are for real though.

my thoughts so far, (please send paramedics to allison's house as he chokes with laughter when he reads this...)

#1 treasure lies off the beaten path _ in an undeveloped part of a park - he has to hide it somewhere hard to find or in a place people don't usually walk

#2 U2 is a kinda sub. There is a torpedo at COMO that is a monument for a ship that was sank by a sub, this torpedo pointed to the med one year, but Allison told us to change our tune so follow the torpedo backward and what do you get

FROG POND!!! in the mud wrapped in "HIs Tiara"

Don't 1 and 2 kind of contradict each other though?

By the way Dal, maybe you should post the pre-hunt picks on the board both for reference sake and just to make it official. Then people won't be changing their votes.

U2 songs have a lot of reference to Rain. So I think it in a park where it is raining, where there is mud.

I like the word Bath in the clue, pigs take a bath in the mud - Pig's Eye, so its in St. Paul Hay I think I'm on to something

A park in St. Paul where it is raining...

First, I'd like to remind everyone that this clue is NOT saying that you need to dig anything up from underground. Otherwise, without further adieu, here is clue #3:

3. It was not the fate of Pharaohs to lie in barrows
As such a burial was not appropriate to their worth
But if by comparison one is as poor as the sparrows.
Then try looking for something covered with earth.

And the previous clues:

2. If your thoughts are strewn and you’re in a swoon
And you worry, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”
Remember the disc but try changing your tune
And you too may find the stash you’ve been yearning for.

1. The hunt has begun and the shining of the Sun
Hath turned the snows of winter into a big muddy bath
In the parks of St. Paul you’d best be careful as you run
Seeking the treasure that lies off of the beaten path.

Dal - I agree with you there. Just trying to make everything else fit.

Could large muddy bath be the river?

Hate to say this, but the windows at SunRay are pyramid-shaped. Conway also has a view of 3M, which would fit with the name of that U2 song (can't remember it now, something with red in the title)

Terry

I'm not sure - but it would fit!

That would put us at Conway.

And the Sun comes up in the east.
