Hey Rush! I thought that same thing. (You doing the bock hunt this year?)

On the other hand, trying to noodle how Allison was thinking while he was writing these clues, anything is possible!

I have climbed the highest mountain
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run, I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
Well, yes, I'm still running

You broke the bonds and you
Loosed the chains
Carried the cross
And all my shame
All my shame
You know I believe it

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I hope to return to defend my bock hunt title but I don't know if I can get off work that day or not. I was upset to find out that the Schells Bock Hunt was already (Feb 9th)

Terry

I hope you make it. I'm planning on taking that title this year!

I will be in town for this hunt (seems I won't be moving till probably the first week in June).

I wonder if they'll do the scavenger hunt thingie again this year or if they will go back to the old school Bock hunt

Thanks for the words to the tune RushHarley

If you look at the website, Rush, it appears to be the same as last year - but then the dates are goofy and it might be the same webpage as last year. Only time will tell.

I actually like the suggestion of One Tree Hill

I actually like the suggestion of One Tree Hill

We turn away to face the cold, enduring chill
As the day begs the night for mercy love
The sun so bright it leaves no shadows
Only scars carved into stone
On the face of earth
The moon is up and over One Tree Hill
We see the sun go down in your eyes

You run like river, on like a sea
You run like a river runs to the sea

And in the world a heart of darkness
A fire zone
Where poets speak their heart
Then bleed for it
Jara sang, his song a weapon
In the hands of love
You know his blood still cries
From the ground

It runs like a river runs to the sea
It runs like a river to the sea

I don't believe in painted roses
Or bleeding hearts
While bullets rape the night of the merciful
I'll see you again
When the stars fall from the sky
And the moon has turned red
Over One Tree Hill

We run like a river
Run to the sea
We run like a river to the sea
And when it's raining
Raining hard
That's when the rain will
Break my heart

Raining...raining in the heart
Raining in your heart
Raining...raining to your heart
Raining, raining...raining
Raining to your heart
Raining...raining in your heart
Raining in your heart..
To the sea

Oh great ocean
Oh great sea
Run to the ocean
Run to the sea

Well if you guys on going to bet on parks, I guess I'll bet on hunters. I'm betting on Rush. I think he might have gotten it last year if he wouldn't have had to leave.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:27 PM Permalink

it sucked that I had to leave but work is work.

Where The Streets Have No Name

I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name... hu hu hu

I want to feel the sunlight on my face
I see the dust cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name....ohhh

Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there I go there with you
It's all I can do

The cities a flood
And our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled in dust
I'll show you a place high on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name....ohhh

Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there I go there with you
It's all I can do

Our love turns to rust
we're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh yes in dust, see our love turn to rust
Ahh we're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh when I go there, I go there with you
It's all I can do.

No! Not me Ares...Mounds Park...you die and go to Heaven! Geesh....night :)

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:39 PM Permalink

actually i'm thinking more on the order of our favorite streets during the pp's hunt. a, b, and c, down on the southern end of white bear ave. right near battle creek.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:40 PM Permalink
ares

yes dear. whatever you say dear ;)

oh god. that's becoming way too much of a habit. someone shoot me now! :)

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:40 PM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

There are no streets at mounds!Only a alley!

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:41 PM Permalink
Terry

At the rec center! Hmmmmmmmm

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:43 PM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

Artemis was thinking about a,b,c streets at battlecreek too.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:47 PM Permalink
ares

so has artemis taken to referring to herself in the third person or is that you, marley?

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:50 PM Permalink
Terry

Of course A, B and C streets have a name...though it's short.

On the same vein, numbered streets could be the same way.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:50 PM Permalink
RushHarley

and Battle Creek is also by Sunray shopping center

:)

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:50 PM Permalink
Terry

So is Conway

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:51 PM Permalink
ares

rush please don't bring back that horrible memory :)

ter, i personally don't consider them to be "named" per se. ditto for the numbered streets. but thats just me. upper afton, that's a name. cedar. that's a name. 4th or 5th or a or b, not named. although if we're talking about numbered streets, that takes us downtown (or technically anywhere 7th runs) and explicitly leaves out kellogg park.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:52 PM Permalink
RushHarley

hey west 7th runs close to Crosby

:)'

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:53 PM Permalink
Clue Master

Kellogg is actually on 3rd street (Kellogg)

I like the numbered idea best yet to satisfy that clue

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:54 PM Permalink
ares

somehow i can just hear the sound of dal knocking over all those anchors! lol.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:54 PM Permalink
ares

but, unlike 7th which shares the names of fort road and old 8th street on the west end of downtown, kellogg has no such designation, cm.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:55 PM Permalink
Terry

I can just see Downtown Dave getting excited about it being downtown!

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:56 PM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

Marley is a cross dresser! ;) J/K

I(Artemis) got control of the key board back now.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:57 PM Permalink
RushHarley

All I've got to say about Crosby this year was when we found the "trail of terror" sign down there we felt for sure that it had to be there, dang over-analyzation.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:57 PM Permalink
Clue Master

Am I just that old? Your right though. The number thing wouldn't really stand up for Kellogg since it is named and not numbered anymore.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:58 PM Permalink
ares

why am i getting images of both of you sitting there with 2 of those fancy wireless keyboards?

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:58 PM Permalink
Terry

Clue Master - I often suffer from that same "back in the olden days" syndrome! Hehehehehe

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 1:59 PM Permalink
Clue Master

TV - It looks like we all might be remembering Cedar St some day as well if it gets changed to MLK Jr. Blvd.

I'm still having problems remembering Hwy 3 is Hwy 52. Help...

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:01 PM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

Lol, thats a funny image!

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:02 PM Permalink
ares

though i do know, cm, that kellogg and 3rd are the same thing. the name change actually occurs at mounds blvd.

since we're on the subject of things that have changed downtown, perhaps those who are wiser than i, mostly because they have memories that go back farther than mine, can help me with a couple of things i can't remember.

1) what was on the site of galtier plaza before galtier went up?

2) what was on the site of the "new" wells fargo tower, formerly known as the world trade center before it was built? oddly enough i do remember when the wabasha street entrance to the dayton's ramp was on the outside of the building.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:02 PM Permalink
ares

i'm having trouble figuring out how to properly follow northbound highway 52 once you get to 7th, street, cm!

Here is a stretch what if we are looking for a park where the streets have "NO" names.

For example the cross streets could be NOrthland & domiNO or something like that.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:06 PM Permalink
Terry

I believe where the Galtier is now used to be warehouse buildings. I'm not sure though as I didn't know that end of downtown very well.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:06 PM Permalink
Terry

Or it could be a NOrth Lexington or something similar.

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:07 PM Permalink
RushHarley

exactly NOw you are getting what I was stretching at

Mon, 02/18/2002 - 2:08 PM Permalink

how 'bout "north park drive" north end of battle creek, runs from ruth to mcknight. directly in front of bc middle school.

the trips down to the creek in 7th and 8th grade, now those are my "back in the olden days" memories, ter :)

and yes the street is actually called north park drive, despite running east and west, and probably having south street numbers.
