Welcome to the 5th Annual Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt!
The treasure was found just before 9am on Wednesday, March 10th, by Me2. She will get a prize around $290 plus a variety of other goodies. It was found in Marydale Park on the north side in a pit under a tree near lamp post #12.
The wrap up party will be Saturday, March 13th at 8pm at Fabulous Fern's.
Jake is talking about having a hunt
is langness hunting
I was just thinking about my post about between 15 and 50 being 17.5. I should have said 32.5. I've always been terrible at math.
Inks thought maybe that was 35 and it was hidden on the freeway. Then he sat here and laughed his rear off. Odd character I'm married to.
And in the clue 15 and 50 are both spelled out. I assume that was intentional.
Let's not go out and play in traffic!
Good idea, OT!
That's what bugs me about it. "and" is between the words fifteen and fifty. But there must be some other word or letter arrangement we're supposed to figure out.
fifteen
fifty
Only common letters are fift.
The remaining letters are yeen - and that doesn't get us anywhere.
snake where did you go hehe
Somewhere between the age of fifteen and fifty, one is thought to be over the hill.
I've been past there, Reg...but not to hunt.
I'm going to call it a night and hit the sheets.
Goodnight and SCDs everyone!
I was thinking Iris as well..is still in my top 3 for ideas....not sure...maybe something there makes sense....I'm going to try to sneek away today...
I know this is a not part of the clues ...but the story is making me batty....
Last nite right before I read books to my 3yr old........
I logged on to read the 6pm clue......
She saw the "bunny" she yelled "alice in wonderland" ...all from AW's avator...I asked here where she heard about AW...she said she had a book......I've never read it and my wife hasn't either(i asked)....
Look in the bookshelf ...yep its there...
So last nite I read the book to her for her bedtime story...funny thing...I fell asleep as well...but....
Don't forget that Alice went to wonderland thru a tree...she found a tree had a large hole at the base.....
also..in this story..when she found her way back....she was having tea by the riverbank.
for some reason I really couldn't get this outta my head in some reallly really weird dreams last nite....
I found myself walking around phalen for the mile walk looking for that tree...Its not in my dream..I then went back to Hidden falls....and walked the riverbank....seriously my dreams was messed up last nite...
also the mad hatter ...10/6 on his hat...that is 1 2/3 not sure if matters...but i was thinking of that all nite as well....
some reallly really weird dreams
Did you have any mushrooms yesterday?
:-)
ian are you going to hunt for the 2004 allison wonderland medallion
if i can get some gas money together
Take the bus....oh thats right! ;)
So I wonder if everyone is out looking today?
Hello everyone! How has the winter been going for everyone?
I was cleaning out a hope chest thismorning when I came across some old records - 2 of them were by THE PLATTERS ----DOH we never even covered that maybe its a song title.
ummm...would be hard to hide a kitty cat in a album like the mediallion was..
Nice idea ME2...I like that....
Statistics prove’ prove that you’ve one birthday’
one birthday ev’ry year.
But there are three hundred and sixty four
unbirthdays.
That is why we’re gathered here to cheer.
A very merry unbirthday to you’ to you.
A very merry unbirthday to you’
It’s great to drink to someone and I guess that you will do.
A very merry unbirthday to you
I'm starting to like wonderland...I didn't know I can drink to somebody anyday of the year for an UNbirthday....
Seeing as platter is singular, it would be one of the group. Johnny Butler, Anthony Gibson, Leslie Johnson and Charles Pennywell.
but they each grabbed a platter...so that makes it plural again...
You have to admit, after this hunt, you will all be FAR more familiar with "Alice in Wonderland".
This is a good example of how you can make just about anything fit a clue: Buter/Pierce Butler; Anthony/St. Anthony; Johnson/Johnson Pkwy; Charles/Charles .
Something else to think about though.
heck ya..I have even dug out my old college "child's lit." book to see if both storys are in there..."yep"......it doesnt have the full stories..but has part...and has histroy of the writer...I just haven't had the time to read them yet...and I'm concerned it just might throw me off track...
I'm still confused as to how my 3yr old daughter knew the "photo" of the hare...its not the same rabbit as the book we have at home.....I don't recall anything at all....she a smart one ..but this is bugging me.
Does she go to day care? One of my three year old grandsons comes up with things too and we wonder, "how the heck does he know that?". I figure it must be from day care. Even so, that's pretty smart for a three year old to recognize the book and know the title from a picture. Must take after her dad, huh? Although I do know her mother's family, and they're some pretty smart people.
its her mom....i'm the dumb one in the family...trust me on that....
I'm thinking it might be daycare...but I really think it could be from a trip to the Library (one of the group reading things for little kids).
I need to wait till monday to ask the daycare lady.....
(but at this rate ..I got a good noodler on my hands.. ;)
Don't sell yourself short. You were smart enough to marry her Mom! ;)
:) true... part of that was taking some good advice from others....
this looks like a good unjoe
Looks like a tax form unJoe.
He can really hold it for that long?
Oh dang, I have to put another clue out in an hour. I almost forgot! Good thing I thought about it now instead of later.
Just a few gathering for the clue...
Medallionation eh? this isnt the pp hunt. we are looking for a cat not a medallion ----geeesh
we are searching for a kitty ;)
Maybe everyone is at the park waiting for someone to call them with the clue.
I'd be at *the* park if I could figure out which park it's at.
Clue #7
Alice took a second look, “This must be the wrong book!”
Thought she, as she spotted seven dwarves sitting on a perch.
Perhaps if she stopped to chat they’d help her find the cat,
But only one was able to give her a hint of where to search.
And the previous clue:
Clue #6
Alice walked a mile, going round about for a while
When a caterpillar spoke, blowing smoke rings quite nifty.
He said, "Who are you? Are you looking for a clue?
Then perhaps you should search between fifteen and fifty."
Clue #5
Alice was curious to know, which way she should go
When she saw the Cheshire Cat and smiled to herself.
He just gave her a grin, and then disappeared again
Saying, "Look for me near a road that crosses itself."
Clue #4
The March Hare and Mad Hatter each grabbed a platter
And offered Alice a cup with all their usual glee.
"You make it quite well, what's your secret, do tell?"
"We simply gather up the rain and stir in the tea!"
Clue #3
Hearing of the slithy toves and mimsy borogoves
Made Alice ask for a dictionary from the porter.
But when he gave her a tome as big as a home
She asked if there was any way to make it shorter.
Clue #2
Alice's adventure had begun before she saw the rabbit run,
In an outdoor setting having some biscuits and tea.
Go now and don't be late for your very important date.
Dining and cooking you'll find figure most prominently.
Clue #1.
Only those with habits like chasing white rabbits
Look in Wonderland trying to find this treasure, alas.
Vanished is the Cheshire Cat. Which park could he be at?
You might start with a peek through the looking glass.
I *think* I got the park figured out but where in the park
but I am sure there are a few of us who *think* they got it
