The treasure was found just before 9am on Wednesday, March 10th, by Me2. She will get a prize around $290 plus a variety of other goodies. It was found in Marydale Park on the north side in a pit under a tree near lamp post #12.
The wrap up party will be Saturday, March 13th at 8pm at Fabulous Fern's.

wow, and I was only on that strech a couple hours ago, musta gotten bad when the snow started accumulating.

looks like the snow has stopped here in roseville. for now anyway.
It was snowing so bad that you can't even see to walk out there- thought I was actually the only person (and my dog) in a park - after a bit I saw a man walking pretty far away from me with something in his hand (so I thought it was Marley-but it wasnt)-turns out as he got closer it was a dog leash- I made my dog sit this whole time waiting for this guy to pass -kicker is, he coulda walked very far away from me and he didn't-he chose to walk closer and take some stairs down twords me! geeesh. Taiga was being very good til they got closer and both dogs got anxious and went for eachother- Taiga got out of her mussell training leash and they both starting jumping at eachother-Taiga just always is curious and wants to play but if you dont know Taiga you would think she wants to rip your head off.
The 55+ yr old mustache wearing skinny man jumped into the mix and fell on his own dogs leg. OUCH. I try to pull Taiga away-succeeding- the man gets up and of course his dog limps as they walk away. The guy couldnt stop swearing and saying if he had a gun and I will kick your dog til its dead if he sees us there again-I said NOTHING! not a word -I just pulled her away and took care of my situation to keep her calm
#1 saying anything wouldn't help due to how the guy acted
#2 I concentrated on my own dog making my dog sit and stay til the guy was way far away (which Taiga did excellent)
#3 I felt pain but didnt know where it was coming from
I did feel bad cause Taiga didnt fully listen to me at the end which we are always trying to teach her and I though going to the park with a training leash would always help-but she seams to know how to finagle her way outa it when she really wants out. But that guy shouldn't have had his dog off the leash at all -especially when getting close to another dog.
as he walked away-even as far as a block he was yelling back the obsenities I listed above. He got 1/2 a block away and as he was turning back to yell he fell flat on his butt! hahaha -I didn't laugh at the time -thinking he would just get more mad at me and start charging at me. I just kept my dog calm at a 'sit' position.
soooooo, as for the pain.... after the guy was far enough away I started to walk Taiga back to the truck... looked down at my hand and blood all over my fingers...2 of my fingernails had gotten pulled back and wone was still in the pulled back position!!!! (pulled back almost 1/2 way down the nail). ... I actually pushed it back and grabbed a tissue from my pocket. I got out of the guys site and got the dog into the truck and went to have my hubby doctor me up.
When I got home I see 2 14 oz bags of M&M's ----:)
one for me NOW and one for me later when I find the kitty.
Mark thinks I will lose at least the one nail :(

Wow! What a way to start the day. Not very good doggy manners I'd say. He was the one with his dog off it's leash.

The other night my neighbor was out trying to untangle her dog. It's a big old dog, and once it was untangled it ran for the door and the chain was kind of wrapped around the neighbor and took her right down! Spun her around and threw her to the ground. That was kind of scarey. Maybe I don't want a dog after all.
well -go for the lap dog-
I am torn cause I like having a big dog for protection since I am home alone alot. I like little dogs for not as much care. -Taiga jumps/pounces as hard as a horse.

I havent had much time with MOving all my stuff out of the mpls house (we sold it,and have to be out by friday)

I dunno, I was geocaching at a park this weekend, a guy pulls up and lets his two golden retrievers out, they immediately see me and start running towards me growling and the whole bit, no leashes, and the guy says NOTHING, just lets em do whatever they want, no control. Luckily all they did was growl and run back and fourth, but still, not a very responsible owner in my opinion.
2nd day of the hunt at cherokee..i saw a golden...all by itself in the park..."taking a dump" ...then car drove up open door and called the dog.....I was like hay...and they drove off. (just wanted to say something)
wow Me2! hope your fingers are ok! I can't believe he had the balls to yell at YOU when HIS dog wasn't on a leash!
Even though the hunt isn't over, what do people think about having the Rehash this Saturday night, the 13th? Maybe not at Fern's though. They're likely to be way too crowded on a Saturday night. I'm not sure yet where to go.
I might be able to make it saturday, we have the older kids this weekend so we don't have to worry about a sitter.
its too bad i'm going to be outta town ..but I will be happy to sit on a beach and think of ya all...
oh and If I do find it in next 2 days...well then maybe better postpone the RHB till i'm back then...

Man, driving is a bitch - between the slippery roads and all the traffic being funneled off 94 to University, it is hell out there.
Can't make Friday or Saturday night this weekend.
I was at Crosby for two hours, during the heavy snow. Had a hat on, and my hood up, so I really couldn't hear much. I'm on my knees looking (for a cache) in a tree stump, and look up at a HUGE dog
Then two more come up, and the owner is pushing a stroller on ski's or something
I'd love to know what the dog owner was thinking when she saw you digging in a stump! That's why I don't like to go out on mock hunts.
its fun when i'm geocaching...one time ..i put my cell phone up to my head and acted like i was making a call....then continued to say that per my handheld (my gps) that I have "extremely high" readings in the entire area..and I felt we should contact the EPA asap.
the guy stopped dead in his tracks.....was funny.....
I just then continued walking off into the woods.....I bet the guy was very confused.
Clue #9 approaches. Will it be found before we get to it? With all this new snow will it ever be found? Only time will tell.

How about the money goes to Peoples Forum? I guess that is up to the people who have donated though. Just a thought.
Unless the treasure mysteriously disappears I don't think it not being found will be an issue. But on the off chance something bizarre happens, and it can't be found, my inclination would be to give it back to the people who donated it.

I know theres always a first time~~~But The treasure has Always been found~~(well opps forgot about the diaper~~Jake(but I guess the piece of paper I found in the diaper counts as found)
At times it can seem it might not be found But as soon as we start sharing we will ALL get closer~~And of course the park will be Mentioned soon AGAIN~~ in the next couple of clues so everyone can be sure they are at the right park!
I think it will be found by thur though~~~~

That mess with the snow was terrible! I happened to be out shortly after it stopped. At first the roads weren't too bad - and then it iced up. Darn near had an accident at one intersection because no one could stop...and then couldn't get up one hill I needed to go up so backed down, went around and tried the other one on the back side of where I was going and almost didn't make it up that one either.
Thankfully tonight the roads are better.
We can't do a rehash this Saturday. It's our 33rd Anniversary and we'll be celebrating up north.
I say the money gos to the next mock hunt.I don't want it back.
Or to the People's Forum. I don't want ours back either.
But I plan on finding it tonight after the clue.
