if I had a boat-

And if I were like lightning

I wouldn't need no sneakers

I'd come and go wherever I would please

And I'd scare 'em by the shade tree

And I'd scare 'em by the light pole

But I would not scare my pony on my boat out on the sea

I like the very south part of Lilydale, by the pool and yacht club. It is very "south of the second city" Yet still part of St Paul park and rec. The path from the south park entreacne has hardly been searched.

Any idea on how we can get tonights clue??

Clue 8:

Whether you crumble, whether you fold, prospect in the gully, and you'll strike gold.

mrmnmikey

Thanks for the clue!

I was out this morning between the folded fence and the crumbled brick oven thing along the creek. Lots of rocks to turn. Got kinda wet so I headed home. More people out there now.

The pussy willows down there looked really cool with the snow/ice on them.

Good luck to all the cooler head hunters - may one of you prevail!!

oops typo! it should be crumple, not crumble. Sorry! the clue should read:

Whether you crumple, whether you fold, prospect in the gully, and you'll strike gold.

OT

Over or under? Is it hidden in a toilet paper tube?
Sun, 04/05/2009 - 7:58 AM Permalink
becksie

I don't think it's hidden ANYWHERE

After I slipped coming out of the park and got my a** and arm sleeve all muddy, I headed home. Put in about 4 hrs today.

I think I'll go warm up in a tanning bed

How many people were out there? More than yesterday? Was everyone concentrated in one area or were they still all over the place?
Sun, 04/05/2009 - 8:15 AM Permalink
becksie

Jake was out and will be back out later, Chris Digger, TMK, CM said he was going out, Me will be out later (I think). That was it for Coolers (3M already posted that he was there this morning)

other random folks out early but it had cleared quite a bit by the time I left

I did find an "official" baseball in real good shape but nothing else in that vicinity
Sun, 04/05/2009 - 8:19 AM Permalink

Would they have just crumpled and folded this thing? and then what? it must be hidden in something!

Sorry you fell down in the mud Becks. I should have been there to catch you. See you at tanning.

I think crumpled and folded refers to toilet paper. The age old questions. Crumpled or folded, over or under? That's why I was wondering if its hidden in a toilet paper tube.

becksie

That is a good idea, OT. Can't say I saw any...I did find an old bicycle, a dead fox or wolf, and an unearthed dead dog. Hmm, what else did I find? :eyeroll:

besides the baseball :eyeroll:
Sun, 04/05/2009 - 9:10 AM Permalink
becksie

oh yea, a LOT of bricks!
Sun, 04/05/2009 - 9:10 AM Permalink
Eags

Oh gosh - what kind of dog was it (the unearthed dead dog)?
Sun, 04/05/2009 - 9:32 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

I kept thinking crumple when I was out there anyways.

I thought I saw something in that crumpled drain pipe and even looked twice, but it was too dark to see good. Came back a 1/2 later and it looked different. Hope someone didn't find it in there betwixt my visits there.

I still think south of the 2nd city means south of the old chicago rail line (the one thats gone) besides south of St Paul.

If they did just crumple it up and toss it in the gully it's gone.

I wonder if you have to "sift" the sand from the cave thats in the gully/creek. Me2 did you bring your sifter? Thats kinda like "prospecting" with a gold pan right?

I'm going to see Fast and Furious at 4 with my pretty wife, and then go out to eat, so my huntings pretty much over for today. I might go out tomorrow if it's still there before work.

couldn't really tell...I wrapped it back up and put it back in the hole that the owner had dug

I guess the poor little gold ticket is going to spend the night alone...in the cold...again

I really tried, though. I even went back out this afternoon...just got back. It took me about 2 seconds to fall asleep in the tanning bed this afternoon :sheepish:

Was today's clue the last one? How do you find out if someone found it already? And what happens if no one finds it? Opener tomorrow.

Yes. Call the hotline...which,last year, was updated about 2 days after-the-fact. I think they can give the $ to charity after midnight tonight.
