Still waiting to hear back from the marketing people over at the Strib about where we are on the hunt status.

Recap of the clues:

Clue #1: Starting from the teflon roof heading west would be a goof.

Clue #2: Get out and search and use those legs but to the north there's just goose eggs.

Clue #3: Further south of the second city the golden ticket shines so pretty.

Clue #4: If you like your breakfast food, this path will get you in the mood.

Clue #5: It still could bring you luck today, should you decide to go this way.

Clue #6: Ms. Tomlin's parents liked the name, Chip's buddy's folks not the same

Clue #7: Here's a way you can't go wrong, think Lyle Lovett's greatest song.

Clue #8: Whether you crumble, whether you fold, prospect in the gully, and you'll strike gold.

The hunt is still on until 11:59pm tonight accordingly to the director of the marketing department. She did say that they are reviewing options with her team on what to do next. She did say that if she were me, she'd keep calling the hotline all day today as that's where they're going to make any updates first. Which might include a new clue so who knows. Please post here if anyone hears the update first. One of us has got to get this thing already.

I see they updated their message but all it says is to check back periodically and visit the Twins site for rules.

Which I can't seem to find anymore. Anyone else?

Would the new clue be on the hotline or in the paper?
Mon, 04/06/2009 - 8:01 AM Permalink
Clue Master

Sounds like the hotline for now. Where is it listed on-line? There wasn't anything in the paper today that I could see.

I can never find anything looking through all those ads. Thanks for the links though

Nor can I. They sure keep this hunt close to the vest so you need to actually purchase a paper to keep up.

Is it possible that the prize may have blown away in the wind somewhere? Just how well is the thing hidden?

Green Donut, anyone?

The paper today says that it was found and to check back next week to find out who found it and where it was found.

I'm betting they think we'll forget about their little screw up in a week. :eyeroll:

Grats BFG on winning that bet. You could have doubled it if you bet me. There's no way I would think they would have screwed that up that big.

I just had a rather lengthy conversation with Tom, the VP of marketing for the Strib. He sincerely apologized for the screw up but said it was the Twins who made the mistake. He even asked them about the county issue when I brought it to their attention 4 days ago and the Twins confirmed that it was indeed in Ramsey county. Tom was very sympathetic for all of us who were hunting for many days in the wrong part of the park and agreed to try and see if the Twins could make it up to us somehow. He was more bothered with how it made his paper look when comparing it to the PP hunt giving that it wasn't even their mistake. Either way, it looked bad for the Strib. He said he'll get back with me if the Twins want to do anything for us. I'll keep you posted.

its an easy mistake...

only a few season pro's would know the difference...

I can even see out MaPress can screw it up
Tue, 04/07/2009 - 7:13 AM Permalink
Clue Master

Yeah - I can see it too. Especially when you see the 'Managed by the St. Paul Parks & Rec Dept' signs.

I hope none of us were calling the Strib and complaining about it. Tom said there were quite a few people complaining about the location and called me back because I talked with them before and was calm.

Anyone the rolls TP around the back probably has cats. I roll paper over the front.

When the dog made a game out of unwinding 30+ feet of TP, I just re-mounted the TP holder a foot higher. With a wiener dog its quicker to fix that than training the dog.

Has anyone called the PP and told them their rivals are idiots?

The Strib should have double checked the location.

If this was Apprentice the person in charge should have double checked the work of the hider. Show me the location. Who gets fired? the person who chose the location? or the boss that didn't follow up?

I was going through last weeks pioneer press newspapers and on the sports page of one of them was all about the dome and how the roof ripped one time - the main word that stood out for me was TEFLON.

Im dissapointed there has not been a pp article or Strib article with a headline of

Golden Ticket found in Dakota County

93X was asking listeners to text in their fondest memories of the Inflatable Toilet yesterday morning and my favorite was from a guy who said his best memory was smoking a joint on top of the dome while repairing the big rip that first year.. Way cool!!

BTW - Call in for Metallica tickets to 93x now if you're on here live (12:59pm)
