"It's been 18 months since we've toured in the States," SLAYER guitarist Kerry King told MTV.com. "People are going to be chomping at the bit to see us again. Our initial thought [with Unholy Alliance] was to go up against Ozzfest, because I think that tour's getting a little bit tired and I think people are tired of going out and getting sunburned for hours every summer. Every place we play is going to be indoors, with a good-sized lineup. We're certainly not going to try to make Ozzfest go away. We're just trying to offer an alternative."
On Tuesday (Feb. 28) SLAYER entered a Los Angeles studio, where they started recording the 11 songs that'll comprise their yet-untitled album. Rick Rubin (SLIPKNOT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN) will executive-produce the disc, while Josh Abraham (VELVET REVOLVER, STAIND) will turn the knobs. One of the songs has an official title ("Cult"), but all of them, King promised, will be devastatingly grim.
"There are definitely things you can't write about in SLAYER, and there are definitely things people expect you to write about," he said. "Everybody expects war, Satanism or anti-religious stuff — and this record's chock-full of that."
Most of the 11 songs SLAYER will record were written more than two years ago, the guitarist said. "We're hoping to do it old-school and record everything in like four weeks," he added. "We're ready. This is probably the most ready we've been since 'Seasons'. We've been spinning our wheels in rehearsals, just waiting for the green light on this thing. Now that we've got it, we're ready to go.
"It's definitely going to be a riff-fest," King continued. "There's riffs all over the place. As much time as we've had to work on it, there better be riffs on it. I think anybody who likes SLAYER, musically, is going to love it."
On Saturday, MTV2's "Headbangers Ball" will feature an exclusive interview with bassist/vocalist Tom Araya regarding the forthcoming album and the Unholy Alliance run.
On Thursday (March 2), Warped founder Kevin Lyman confirmed an itinerary, which lists dates and venues for 45 of the 49 cities the tour will hit this summer; it used to be 48 cities, but Lyman let it be known that Warped will now kick off on June 15 in Columbia, Maryland — and not on June 16 in Columbus, Ohio, as had previously been reported.
"Yeah, we've added another city. Make sure people know about that," Lyman laughed. "We wanted to sort of roll this itinerary out a little bit at a time, but why not do it all now? I think people's enthusiasm about Warped speaks to just how amazing and strong our fanbase is."
The dates and cities for Warped 2006 — which includes Motion City Soundtrack, Thursday, Rise Against and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts plus a host of others — had been announced last month, but with the addition of the venues, there's finally a proper itinerary for the tour.
Lyman (who's currently on the road with his other tour, Taste of Chaos), said that he's close to finalizing an on-sale date for Warped '06, and he'll be making that announcement in the coming weeks.
The dates for Warped Tour 2006, according to event organizers:

DEF LEPPARD's two-CD collection of hits, "Rock of Ages", has sold 452,000 copies in the United States since its May 2005 release. Meanwhile, the band's 1999 "Vault - Greatest Hits" (Mercury) collection has shifted 4.08 million copies so far.
DEF LEPPARD's all-covers set, entitled "Yeah!", is tentatively scheduled for release in May. Guitarist Phil Collen told Billboard.com last year that the album will include "a bunch of stuff — all '70s stuff. Most of it is songs that we grew up with in England. 'No Matter What' by BADFINGER is going to be the leadoff single. We've done 'Waterloo Sunset' by THE KINKS, T. REX, MOTT THE HOOPLE, ROXY MUSIC and THIN LIZZY. And a lot of it is obscure; it's not the standard stuff. It's not like STONES or BEATLES songs."
According to MelodicRock.com, CINDERELLA and POISON will be teaming up this summer for the 20th Anniversary tour of the "Nightsongs" and "Look What the Cat Dragged In" albums, respectively. In addition, there will be a new CINDERELLA retrospective CD this April via Island/Universal and a brand new CINDERELLA live CD recorded last year on the Rock Never Stops Tour. More information will be made available soon.
Kick ass!
This is probably the most ready we've been since 'Seasons'
Their most musically advanced album to date (by date I mean 1991 or so when it was made...)
SLAYER will be teaming up with MASTODON, LAMB OF GOD, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED
Children of Bodom Kick major ass... from Finland...
I couldn't laugh, I couldn't cry. Before you gauge me
Take a look at yourself. Condescendin', outlivin' in a lie
Despite all the pain in my heart grinding through
It ain't due that you hate what I hate what you do
Despite all the piety you've been consuming thus far
A backstabbing motherfucker to the bone is what you are!
And everyday when the knife in my back starts to twinge 'n' turn
My eyes are catching fire and my heart starts to burn
A foot away from you is like a bit closer to heaven
Then again it's like being needled 24/7
You look down to me to see the scum of the earth to be. Fuck yeah
That's me, vile and obscene. Hey I ain't happy about it but at least
I don't judge and decree, to be better than another human being
And everyday when the knife in my back starts to twinge 'n' turn
My eyes are catching fire and my heart starts to burn
A foot away from you is like a bit closer to heaven
Then again it's like being needled 24/7
Despite all the piety you've been consuming thus far
Hey won't somebody tell me what the fuck is going on?
And everyday when the knife in my back starts to twinge 'n' turn
My eyes are catching fire and my heart starts to burn
A foot away from you is like a bit closer to heaven
Then again it's like being needled 24/7

I might actually be going to this one.... dunno yet...
http://www.ozzfest.com/tourdates.html
they dont have any dates listed yet, havent changed it over from 2005 yet, but the last line of information says: "** All tickets for the FloatRite Amphitheater date are general admission."
Leads me to think that they're finally coming back here?
Isnt Valentino's the place where KDWB has stuff going on all the time?
Anyway, KDWB does a lot of shows there, but I know that Cher and Fantasia have been there in the past. Also Robin Williams.
Its one of those ones where I turn then channel when it comes on... :goofy:
I think I've been to the place, maybe three times...
I wish I had known when Cher was there so I could have run down to show her what women our age really look like. :pbpt:
I get a light show out my front windows when they have the big spot lights going on weekends.
that place is more of a rock 'n roll venue, and rock 'n roll is definately not classy....
If i've gotta pick places to go, though.... First Ave wins hands down, everytime.... old, and dirty as it may be, its a piece of history and I love it.....
good luck getting on the list...unless you win tic's
I meant that I turn the channel and listen to something else :goofy:
I think I might be hitting another open mic, this weekend, anyhow... I need to test out a couple of things, and see how they go over.

Deep in the hundred acre wood
Where Christopher Robin plays
You will find the enchanted neighbourhood
Of Christopher's childhood days
A donkey named Eeyore is his friend
And Kanga and little Roo
There's Rabbit and Piglet
And there's Owl
But most of all Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff
He's Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Willy nilly silly old bear
Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff
He's Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Willy nilly silly old bear
 Herne the Hunter
Green the woods at break of day
Yellow now the dawn
Silent is the forest but for
Herne the hunter's horn
There as I was walking
I met a hunting swain
Soon we fell a-talking
And these words I did say
Go you to the gay green woods
Thick with leaf and vine
Do you hunt the milk white stag
With ivy in its tines
Once I saw the milk white stag
Running by the way
With my bow and my good steed
I thought to give it chase
Cold as snow the sacred hide
His antlers thick with vine
Ever did he look at me
With fire in his eyes
Go you to the gay green woods
Thick with leaf and vine
Do you hunt the milk white stag
With ivy in its tines
Through the woods he gave me chase
Wet my horses sides
Ever did he look at me
With fire in his eyes
Till at last we came to rest
In a meadow thick with thorn
Just as I had him in my sights
I heard the hunter's horn
There stood Herne the hunter
Terrible and grey
And with a voice like thunder
These words to me did say
Well my friend you hunted now
The prey that I made thine
Know that if you hit your mark
Your soul's forever mine
I drew the string back to my ear
But fear was in my heart
Wild and high my arrow flew
Swiftly ran the hart
Breathlessly I turned around, but
Herne was there no more
My arrow it lay shattered on the
Brackened forest floor
Go you to the gay green woods
Thick with leaf and vine
Do you hunt the milk white stag
With ivy in its tines
So good swain you know I said
The pain that I endure
For Herne the hunter lives within
My heart forever more
And if you go a-hunting and you
Seek the milk white heart
Prepare to pledge your soul to Herne or
Put away your dart
And I will never hunt again
I curse my bow and dart
That kept me from the forest God
That lives within my heart
Go you to the gay green woods
Thick with leaf and vine
Do you hunt the milk white stag
With ivy in its tines

GUNS N' ROSES: HELSINKI SHOW SELLS OUT IN EIGHT MINUTES
According to the Finnish ticket retailer Lippupalvelu, all 10,000 tickets for GUNS N' ROSES' July 5, 2006 show in Helsinki, Finland at the Hartwall Arena sold out in about eight minutes on Monday (March 13). Many fans who were lining up at ticket outlets were left without tickets.
In other news, GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose was featured in the HBO "The Sopranos" premiere special which aired Sunday night (March 12). Axl was shown talking to Steven Van Zant but wasn't interviewed.
GUNS N' ROSES' European tour is expected to kick off May 27 with an appearance at the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon, Portugal.
In a rare interview conducted by Rolling Stone magazine on Jan. 13, Rose promised fans that the band's long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" album will see the light of day before the end of the year, but no release date has yet been announced for the effort. He also added he is working on 32 songs for the album and 26 are finished out of which 13 will feature on the final album. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Better", "There was a Time" and "The Blues".
Way to go Sabbath, Blondie and Skynyrd! The Sexpistols even had a few tunes that rocked. Shit, Miles Davis is cool too for that matter.
WonÂ’t you listen?
When I first met you, didnÂ’t realize
I canÂ’t forget you, for your suprize
You introduced me, to my mind
And left me wanting, you and your kind
I love you, oh you know it
My life was empty forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you canÂ’t hear
Come on now, try it out
Straight people donÂ’t know, what your about
They put you down and shut you out
You gave to me a new belief
And soon the world will love you sweet leaf
........................................
Toe to toe, dancing very close.
Body breathing almost comatose.
Wall to wall, people hypnotized.
And theyÂ’re stepping lightly.
Hang each night, in rapture.
Back to back, sacroiliac.
Spineless movement and a wild attack.
Face to face, sightless solitude.
And itÂ’s finger popping.
Twenty four hour shopping in rapture.
Fab five freddy told me everybodyÂ’s fly.
D.j. spinning, I said, my, my.
Flash is fast, flash is cool.
Francois, cÂ’est pas flashe non due.
And you donÂ’t stop, sure shot.
Go out to the parking lot.
And you get in your car and drive real far.
And you drive all night and then you see a light.
And it comes right down and it lands on the ground.
And out comes the man from mars.
And you try to run but heÂ’s got a gun.
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head.
And then youÂ’re in the man from mars.
You go out at night eating cars.
You eat cadillacs, lincolns too.
Mercurys and subaru.
And you donÂ’t stop.
You keep on eating cars.
Then when thereÂ’s no more cars you go out at night
And eat up bars where the people meet.
Face to face.
Dance cheek to cheek.
One to one.
Man to man.
Dance toe to toe.
DonÂ’t move too slow Â’cause the man from mars is through with cars.
HeÂ’s eating bars.
Yeah, wall to wall.
Door to door.
Hall to hall.
HeÂ’s gonna eat Â’em all.
Rapture.
Be pure.
Take a tour through the sewer.
DonÂ’t strain your brain.
Paint a train.
YouÂ’ll be singing in the rain.
Said donÂ’t stop to the punk rock.
Man to man, body muscular.
Sismic decibel by the jugular.
Wall to wall, tea time technology and a digital ladder.
No sign of bad luck in rapture.
Well now you see what you wanna be.
Just have your party on t.v.
Â’cause the man from mars wonÂ’t eat up bars where the t.vÂ’s on.
And now heÂ’s gone back up to space where he wonÂ’t have a hassle with the human race.
And you hip hop.
And you donÂ’t stop.
Just blast off, sure shot.
Â’cause the man from mars stopped eating cars
And eating bars
And now he only eats guitars.
Get up!
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
Â’cause thereÂ’s too many places IÂ’ve got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldnÂ’t be the same.
Â’cause IÂ’m as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I canÂ’t change.
Bye, bye, itÂ’s been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I canÂ’t change.
But please donÂ’t take it badly,
Â’cause lord knows IÂ’m to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldnÂ’t be the same.
Cause IÂ’m as free as a bird now,
And this bird youÂ’ll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I canÂ’t change.
Lord help me, I canÂ’t change.
And for some of the greatest Rock and Roll lyrics ever written...
Right! Now ha, ha,
I am an antichrist
I am an anarchist
Don't know what I want
But I know how to get it
I wanna destroy the passerby
'Cause I wanna be Anarchy
No dogs body
Anarchy for the UK
It's coming sometime and maybe
I give a wrong time stop a traffic line
Your future dream is a shopping scheme
'Cause I wanna be Anarchy
In the city
How many ways to get what you want
I use the best
I use the rest
I use the enemy
I use Anarchy
'Cause I wanna be Anarchy
It's the only way to be
Is this the M.P.L.A or
Is this the U.D.A or
Is this the I.R.A
I thought it was the UK
Or just another country
Another council tenancy
I Wanna be Anarchy
I Wanna be Anarchy
Oh what a name
I wanna be Anarchy
Know what I mean?
And I wanna be an anarchist
Get pissed
Destroy!
A description of the video by a poster on some website
- "A local Minnesota metal band called SI6KS had their CD-release show this past weekend, and their guitar player got waaaaaay too wasted to play. It was frankly embarassing for everyone involved. After 20 minutes of this charade, the drummer finally said 'fuck this' and ended the set. Hilarity ensues. The bass player's reaction (need sound) was pretty good as well."
heres the link - http://youtube.com/watch?v=UXFsa4XY8V8
I met the lead singer of this band, last summer at a bar.... seemed pretty cool...

Beast And The Harlot
This shining city built of gold, a far cry from innocence
There's more than meets the eye round here look to the waters of the deep.
A city of evil
There sat a seven-headed beast, ten horns raised from his head
Symbolic woman sits on his throne but hatred strips her and leaves her naked.
The Beast and the Harlot
She's a dwelling place for demons, she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird
and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Falling now is Babylon the Great.
The city dressed in jewels and gold, fine linen, Myrrh and pearls
Her plagues will come all at once as her mourners watch her burn.
Destroyed in an hour
Merchants and captains of the world, sailors navigators too
Will weep and mourn this loss with their sins piled to the sky
The Beast and the Harlot.
She's a dwelling place for demons, she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird
and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Falling now is Babylon the Great.
The day has come for all us sinners,
If you're not a servant you'll be struck to the ground.
Flee the burning, greedy city,
Looking back on her to see there's nothin' around.
I don't believe in fairytales and no one wants to go to Hell,
you've made the wrong decision and it's easy to see.
Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us,
Your welcome to the city where your future is set forever.
She's a dwelling place for demons, she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird
and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Falling now is Babylon the Great.
