wow- can't you show them your army badge or something?
I went in uniform, right after work... The security guard was cool, and let me go around the metal detectors (which is kinda scary, if you think about it)... So I got something nice out of the deal...
Teachers who think that you don't have any other classes to worry about so they pile on the homework like you don't have anything better to do with your time!
well, let's see...big hole in my wall, people were here that weren't supposed to be, not to mention said people were 18, 19 and 24, there is now child porn on my hard drive, people were drinking and smoking, rummaging through my bedroom...all while she was babysitting my 9 yr old  yeah, i'd say she messed up bad.
she still won't fess up :eyeroll: we even went into her myspace and read her messages and there was one from a kid that said he was sorry and he was trying to find some plaster under the sink, she claims that message was about something else, the best part is..while gordy was reading the messages they started dissapearing, she called someone and had them log into her acct and start deleting the messages, girls got balls
Basic premise is it records every key typed on the keyboard. when you open a word processor (or other text editor) and type in a password, it dumps all the text it's been recording. That includes usernames and passwords.
her myspace password is different from her e-mail, gordy made her give him that one the other night, at least when she changes it on us again I will be able to get it, and she won't know we have it so she'll be caught off guard.
coworkers panicking about phones ringing and noone on the other end of the line.
mass hysteria caused by all the phones not working or ringing constantly.
hearing "Joel! The phones aren't working!" in surround sound from all 4 employees here today.
everyone simultaneously using speakerphone to check voicemails from when the phones weren't working.
Phones working, then down again.
Somehow this all being my fault, regardless of the fact that the network is running properly and the phones themselves are operating. I'd check the pbx, but wait, that's right, VoIP phones run off a virtual pbx run off a server in another part of the country. How silly of me, perhaps I'll do a traceroute, find out where the server is, and take a little road trip, or a long one, I don't know, I don't care, and then I can fix the server that the pbx is located on. That should be simple enough, once I make it past any security/other personel in the building the server is housed in. On my way back I can check all the wiring from the server, back here to the office, that shouldn't take too long either, provided the phone/network companies stay out of my way.
I've advised against running the company's phone system on a VoIP. I've told them, time after time after time that they're not reliable enough to expect them to run perfectly 10 hours a day, 5 days a week without service interruption. Cell phones have a better track record. If you wanted them more reliable, get a regular business phone system. There aren't many companies out there offering a complete business phone system over VoIP, in fact, we're using one of the few. Why? Because most businesses either manage their own VoIP system, or they use other traditional services.
Anyways.. I'm off in half an hour, and I'm not going to care until 7:30am tomorrow. Why? Because I'll need to be in bright and early to make sure the phones are back up.
ya know, voip has its high points. i've got an asterisk pbx running at home with a linksys ata talking to it and a softphone on tc's and my laptops, still need a couple of usb handsets for it though (next time i go to europe i don't want to get hit with the international roaming charges like we did last time).
but....
never will i subscribe to external voip service. just too damn flaky.
from what i read on the * mailing lists, no voice from one end sounds remarkably like a nat issue at a router somewhere. sip doesn't like nat.
Heh, the old voip phones we had here simply refused to work behind a router specifically due to nat.
We had to purchase an IP address for every phone here, which sucked.
Still had that issue from time to time though. I think in our case it's more of flaky service issues.
I'd much rather be in control of the situation myself, relying on an outside source, which is used by tons of people nationwide, just sucks sometimes. Like you said, too flaky.
you should send exactly what you just posted to the Pioneer Press "sainted and tainted"

everything still works...
but my wireless card has ducttape on it and i'm worried how long its good for now...
and i hope i didn't do anything to my laptop
I guess if I'd never been one, I could be more strick about it...
Is branding and torturing illegal up north?
Irritates: end of 3 day weekends. UGH!
(Zephy, we need new plans for the weekend)
Hardware is different. If your keyboard has a ps/2 connection (not USB), this will work wonders.

I suppose that one will work. Again though, it's software and might not be as failsafe.
Good luck!
gordy doesn't have to hide anything from me anyway
grrrr.
