spending almost 2 hours in a meeting about a 'reporting software' that can do this! and this! and that! but the data that it does this! and this! and that! with is all wrong, because they are too cheap to allocate $$ to getting the program it pulls the info from fixed.

I'm soooo pi$$ed off right now - I just let an entire group (some of them VP level) have a piece of my mind.

the good news? I'm bailing work in a little bit to go to the giants game.. so it all evens out.

swim suit shopping.

I hope there is a special place in hell for the designers of swimsuits.

Have you tried www.landsend.com? They have some great options in swimwear and their customer service people are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I've tried everywhere. I ended up with an orange and pink roxy suit. I have to buy my top and bottom in two different sizes and the surf store by my house offers that option. it's cute. That puts me at having 4 suits for this trip, as my burberry one, needs a trip to the south of france or something.

So they eliminated 3 positions in our department

Split the work load among the remaining of us..

We are already cramped for space but now have 3 empty cubes but they won't let us spread out because some day 2 or 3 years from now we may be back at full capacity!!!!!

Seriously

Get a huge plastic drop sheet - the kind they sell at Home Depot paint department dirt cheap. Cover one entire empty cubicle with it and block off the entrance - now you have a trash 'cubicle' that you won't need to empty for at least 2-3 years!

michael jackson and farrah :frown:

I grew up with both of them in the 70's and 80's!

:frown:

we all knew farrah was gonna happen - still doesn't feel good nonetheless - she was a beautiful caring strong, yet soft spoken woman

but Michaels is just shock to my system.

Its slightly less shock than Princess Diana to me

This is going to sound bitchy - sorry.

Not staying the extra day in cabo - they oversold our flight, and offered us $900/pp flight credit, plus put us up in another all inclusive hotel for a night with a direct flight home this morning.

instead we sat in airports all day long - got to LAX and sat thru not ONE but TWO planes with mechanical issues and got home at like midnight ..

THEN -- as we are headed home, a car flips off the road infront of us, and my BF (being a CHP) stops and has me call 911 and his friend who is the fire cheif that lives the property over, and they stabilize the guy, while I sit in the car and watch the lifeflight helicoptor land less than 30 feet away from me at oh... one something AM.

All because he wanted to come home and see his kids this morning rather than this afternoon.

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TRIPS TO MN $900 of flight credit would have gotten me?

ugh.... I'm soooo regretting not trying to persuade him.

Too bad about the inconvenience, but I bet the guy in the flipped car is pretty thankful there was someone there immediately to stabilize him.

Odd how things work out that way.

yah, even though that TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!! just think if you were not there for the guy who flipped his car.

hind sight though considering what ended up happening.....personally I would have told the guy (friend, boyfriend or husband) that he could take the flight back without me cause I was staying an extra night with or without him. screw that! a free extra vacation night!!!

Carry a fire extinguisher in your car. Seriously. The fire you put out may be your own. Been there. Done that.

Carrying a highway patrol officer in your trunk can be a helpful resource too - but they make noise when they kick and you have to feed them every so often.

I didn't talk to him, I stayed up on the pavement with the phone and 911 - giving them details of the car/plate/surrounding area etc so they could figure out what to do.

Glenn (BF) and his buddy who is the fire chief of the area who lived next property over (I called him as well) went down to where the guy was.

At first when G came upon him, he thought he was already dead and not breathing, but then he started to move a little. He didn't say much although he could speak a little. There wasn't much blood outside, a little on his cheek and leg (His leg got caught on the vineyard trellis when he flew into the vineyard and was clearly broken)

G & friend, figured he had lots of internal bleeding- judging from the way the crash happened. I actually took photos of the car flipped. I the one of the helicopter didn't turn out, I'll post it when I download my camera.

Even money bet he didn't have a seat belt on. Gotta click it - no matter what happens!

My pregnant sister-in-law had a slow icy slide into the ditch with their pickup this past December - the ditch was steep and the truck rolled - had her seat belt on and she came out perfectly fine.

Truck cab was 'shortened' by about 5-6 inches. Drivers following her ran up and freaked out when they saw the empty baby seat in back and no baby in it. (Little nephew was at home). Even though she was upside-down, she easily got out of her seat belt- but pushing the dented door open (with snow behind it) was a bit difficult.

I got a high school classmate (Mom of 5) who rolled her mini van a couple years ago down a steep embankment with all 5 kids inside. NONE of them got hurt - and all of them were properly secured in car seats, belted and such.

If you're traveling this holiday weekend, PLEASE - CLICK IT!

irritates: evil women.

my best friend from highschool is coming to stay the weekend at my house because his soon to be ex wife is waging war on him. She is using their son as a pon and it's not pretty. He loves his son more than anything, and she is just tearing him apart.

the best part? she HATES me, but he has no where else to go... so she's really gonna love the fact that she has to bring her kid to my house for his visit this weekend. hahahahah (wait that part maybe an enjoy)

sssay, I need to take a vacation (sunnys house) ....oh but I'm sure a plane to CAL is expensive enough let alone during MJ's funeral week.

how far are you from Staples Arena?

must be crazy there with so many celebrity deaths.

we are bombarded with constant news here, I'm sure its way worse where you are.

Staples arena is in LA - so 8 or 9 hours away. We have the same news coverage that you do there. We also have a lot more local news with all the crazies that seem to come out of the woodwork on a daily basis protesting things, and protesting the protests etc etc etc..

I haven't watched the news in close to 10 years for that reason...

I've seen round trip tixs as low as $118, but they are usually about $180 for RT MPLS and SFO.

irritates: spent the entire 4th vacay either putting together - or breaking down our booth for Red, White and Boom! (huge fundraiser here with fireworks) to find out yesterday when we went back to pick up the last of our items that in the middle of the night, someone stole our deep freeze full of left over ice cream (we were going to donate at a homeless shelter) a cooler full of hotdogs and a cooler full of hamburgers ad 20 cases of bottled water. Oh and the vehicle to steal it all with a gator tractor cart..

hate people sometimes.

Getting a muffler burn on my arm that looks to be a permanent scar. I guess it's not too bad given the awesome weekend that I had.

Bad Bearings.

More specifically - bad bearings in my neighbors' Air Conditioning Condenser.

When I asked about it, they said they have a buddy that works for Carrier look at it. The Carrier dude said it's dying, but just run it into the ground and we'll set you up with a new one once it fails.

I live in a group of town homes, so someone's AC always running, but THIS someone's AC is ALWAYS on. It has not shut off for three days now - nor has it seized up yet. I have contemplated everything from blowing it away with a shotgun, to running over the power transformer in the street just so I don't have to hear that fingernails-on-the-chalkboard whine from that fan anymore.

Anyone got a discreet way to shut that thing down?

nah they'll pop a circuit breaker before that happens.

assuming the cb works right.....

i was doing some electrical work once and i think i welded the contacts of the breaker in our panel when it went. that was before we replaced the panel.

Usually there should be a disconnect by the unit.
Fri, 07/10/2009 - 6:55 PM Permalink
mrmnmikey

The motor will eventually draw too many amps and blow the circuit breaker.
Fri, 07/10/2009 - 8:51 PM Permalink

If they do weld shut theres always another breaker or main fuse that will trip.
