Pink made me think of Harriet since there was a Susan G Komen Race for the Cure event there last year.  I don't know the route of the walk, but it could have gone toward Lilydale.  The land once cast asunder seems like Lilydale, which had houses/buildings torn down to take it back to nature.

Clue #7

If you’re in the pink await a link  - to me this refers to the Pink  concert and mobile entry(link)coming up at the X.  Does Harriet Island host concerts?  I dont know.

To a place most fit for wonder ???

For the bold lies a mystery of old Anagram?

In this land once cast asunder.  This means it used to be cast asunder.  Asunder can mean apart or divided.  Harriet Island used to be an island which was apart from the mainland.  Now it is not an island anymore.

Has anyone considered looking around the path between the Pioneer press building on 10 River park plaza and the Mississippi river? What if the beer shape pyramid is that building.

I was out last night and they had their building lit up I think blue, but for one portion was pink. Maybe the link in the clues refers to the other business there such as comcast which provides phone, cable and internet service.

That building happens to be directly across from Lambert Landing which is where the steamboats offboarded and maybe that fits with Goodhue's story of coming to St. Paul?

"In the pink await a link". There's a Healthpartners clinic on Wabasha Street by . . . Harriet Island. A lot of clues pointing to there, kind or crazy if it ends up there with no snow.
Cast asunder, obviously a lot of people know harriet used to be separated as a true island and used as a bath house area for people way back when.

2024 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt Clue #7

1 year 4 months ago

Clue #1

At last it’s time for vexatious rhyme

To goad you to fortune and fun

Here’s a clue: Something old, something new

Off you go! The race has begun

Clue #2

This is the year of the pioneer

An enterprise first of its kind

An event historic we feel euphoric

Like a park hunter grasping the find

It’s the 175th year since that newsman came here

With his press afloat he did embark

He’s got his own county, a majestic bounty

That he’s got in common with the park

Clue #3

The search for gold never gets old

This year, add beer can and gnome

Sincerest flattery or idle chattery?

Our treasure sits atop the loam.

Clue #4

You set out to search, but had to lurch

Because the sunlight has expired

For your hunt to go great, it’s okay to stay out late

If you’re able to get lights wired

Clue #5

A city first, its pride does burst

For St. Paul’s all-woman council

We’ll observe, for the reader we serve

Of their views we’ll be mindful

Clue #6

Seek out a pyramid or even a beer amid

Grasses and bushes and trees

Look a bit dusty? Or downright crusty?

It may hide the prize to seize

Clue #7

If you’re in the pink await a link

To a place most fit for wonder

For the bold lies a mystery of old

In this land once cast asunder

The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt is part of the St. Paul Winter Carnival every year. While the prize can only go to one winner, The Allison Wonderland is dedicated to the community spirit of treasure hunting. Here, not only will you find out about the Pre-Dig Gig, the Rehash Bash, and various other social events, but we also discuss the clues here in a team effort to decipher them (albeit not always successfully). This is a place to discuss ideas respectfully, report on what's happening "on the ground", and provide each other with useful information. This is a public group so expect that anything posted will be seen by everyone.
