I'm not sure I can point to anything that specifically says it is outdoors, but I feel I read at one point somewhere that they said it would never be indoors. Based on my interpretation of the clues, I can also say it's not in a library.

I liked back in the day when the first clue laid out the rules. I knew I was looking for a park in Ramsey County.

Sorry to hear that your girlfriend is back in the hospital, David. That is exhausting. Here are my two cents from hours of late night noodling last night (then going to work tired :) 
I am pretty sure the medallion is outside of St. Paul proper because clue 1 talks about back with Vulcan and they historically had activity out of the city proper where King Boreas ruled the seven hills and downtown.  Also, the first letter of the last 4 words of clue 2 spell RAMS, and I think that means Ramsey Co as a whole. 
As far as the writer info in clue 2, I think it is designed to pull people "off course" if it is taken too literally. I think it is more of a "meta" kind of clue where the writer of mystery is the clue writer who is using wordplay (sorcery) to "spin" the clues. “a writer of mystery has spun clues using sorcery”  And according to clue# 5 if you spin and spin you will never get there.

It’s now time for me to abandon all my previous thoughts and cling to something haha.
I think perhaps the CW was being a bit cheeky in Clue 2 “A third of its history” - perhaps this is the third time at a hiding spot?
There are 4 locations with two previous medallions: Wakefield, Newell, Tony Schmidt and…. The fairgrounds. 
Maybe never say never again?

The Pigs Eye regional park is all in Ramsey County, the lake is as well, and there are 2 areas to park that are both called Pigs Eye. There is a red rock rd, so the red herring is in play here.

Yeah, the Mei Mei is Battle Creek area, close to Pigs Eye, someone has that park, but it has been there before, so that doesn't line up with clue 6. Unless part of a park never been used before, like an outer area not really usually associated with the park. I remember some hunts everyone is in the park, and they hid it on Blvd. Technically not in... so is that what they are getting at, im a red herring kinda clue person, I dont get the clue within a clue meaning....so I think it says new area, and I go with that, but it probably has a twist to what a new area is? Now the voodoo sticks and dolls thing, they use pigs blood, so...there, I made that fit too, lol

Well, the girlfriend is back in the hospital, so I'll probably be a little out of touch this weekend but hopefully not too much.
I'm not seeing a lot of guesses for the park pool. I wonder if that means people are feeling pretty lost? The chatter I've heard seems to be all over the place. I'm feeling confident in my spot, but since it's based on something I was told in private, it's not really mine to share. Plus you wouldn't believe me anyway.
I feel like the first part of the clue is suggesting a park it hasn't been in before. It's also possible it's referring to a specific spot like the frog pond, or where the green doughnut was supposed to be.

The second part of the clue sounds straightforward regarding the woods and a lake. But since when has anything about these clues been straightforward? But if you accept that, what are we talking? Como, Phalen, Frost Lake, Marydale, Crosby, Beaver Lake, maybe Ames? Could even get into the Willow Pond Area or Suburban Pond area. Or it could even be talking about a lake elsewhere in MN that would lead you back to a park in St Paul. I suppose that's a fair degree of narrowing it down for Clue 6.
I dont think it will be found this weekend. Not just because of the cold, but I think they wrote the clues this year to.avoid yet another short hunt.

So you need history knowledge of a past hunt where folklore had everybody going some where and turned out not to be the spot. They herringed everyone over there. We'll, this year, its there! But I dont have the history to noodle that, so who ever has good documentation of past hunts is already on to this one. A new place...almost thought to have been there once...hmmmm

May may could be mei mei meaning little sister or little girl in Chinese.  Could be a nod to Chinese friendship garden at phalen or restaurant near battle creek. I'm sure you could fit it to whatever park you're in 😊 I think it's Phalen, even though I thought clue 4 saying the game demands your best was telling me not to fail. Poetry park has a bench with "The poem is here-hear!" Happy hunting!

I wonder if the use of the word May twice was on purpose and “May end” -summer? I can’t find anything on that theory. 

It’s been found numerous times at numerous parks in the woods by the lake right? 
Maybe it’s in the break of a tree or by a dead end.
