It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Treasure Digger
Bob, I'm way over 18 but thanks anyway. It's all about hunting. The language can needs to be toned down. Joe Medallion was locked out of the cooler because of the language and the comments to other hunters.
Cheryl...for previous clues go to the medallion link on the left side of the page. The years will be listed. Just click on the year you want to look at.
Cheryl, when you get to the Cooler site, click on medallion and it will bring you to the page regarding the 1999 hunt is on. Just above that click on past hiding places. It will bring you to the previous clues.
Everything about Newell I report usually exists only in my mind. It is a very nice park with lots of trees, a building (where I vote), and a small ball field. The hills wouldn't excite anyone over the age of 10, though they are bigger than Pimple Hill on Englewood.
Regalman, if you see someone walking a nervous dog, make sure you say 'Hi'.
Streets around Newell Park: Fairview (fairway & scene (#1)), Taylor Ave (Taylor was president in 1849 when the PP was founded). Also, I like birdie's "caught" ref to Midway Stadium....Hmmm
Hi Terry, missed you guys too;>( Reid filled me in - I was in the "forest"
Thinking about (and I'm sure "reading" more into) the clues than is there.
Wright had mentioned something about a "movie" tie-in. Grumpy Old Men was filmed (house shots) near Phalon......
I haven't slogged through it all. Was looking for the link to past years' clues at the coolercrew.com site. Seems like last year's clues pinpointed the park fairly quickly.
The next clue might have to do with "being on the right track" that would lead everyone to Newell because of Amtrak and the railroad tracks. Maybe not though. Forget it I ahve NO CLUE
Cheryl, it was my fellow Hunter who made the connection regarding the Grumpy(ier) Old Men connection. So we went out to Phalen to scope it out. There are several things that could be *fitting* for the clues, however.
You people are nuts if you believe me. Be kind to my Park, I have to sleep now. Energy must be conserved for those late night digs that lie ahead (probably 5-7 days ahead).
What you mad, just because your old, grey, and wrinkly doesn't mean you need to get mad. It's not my fault Swear's weren't used in the turn the century but it's the 90's back to reality with you. open your eyes take a look at what you have missed in the past 100 yrs.hAPPY TRAILS TO YOU.Have fun freezing you buns off looking in the wrong spot. Oh, My fault is buns alright for you :)
Midway stadium is on energy park drive but I don't know if it is considered falcon heights or St. Paul? the tracks are a border for a lot of stuff. the fairgrounds are considered falcon heights and they are on the same ground, no tracks or anything separate them. However it is in view
Midway Stadium is in St. Paul. The Falcon Heights/St. Paul border on that end of town is Hoyt. The Mpls/St. Paul border is further west from the stadium.

Taylor Ave. runs into Newell and, if I'm not mistaken, Zachary Taylor was the president in 1849-150 yrs ago. Hmmm.

The next clue might have to do with "being on the right track" that would lead everyone to Newell because of Amtrak and the railroad tracks. Maybe not though. Forget it I ahve NO CLUE
