any body thought of Phalen---it has a golf course & ACROSS the street is a hill that may be "sleddable" by parking lot # 2...????

What about this....the city of Maplewood population signs read 30,954........could this mean its close to the border of maplewood in phalen in the st paul side? Grumpy Old Men was filmed on Phalen when they were ice fishing...popular outdoor attraction?????

I just noticed that 95--4 years ago--it was in Battle Creek--where the ski jump is--roflmao!!!!!!!!!!!(just flipping the 94--5 years ago(highland)-----the clue separates 9&5 from 4--lol

just realized there's a HOMER street running to highland park... that goes along with baseball(9 and keeping score) AND MY PICTURE NEXT TO MY NAME!!! maybe i am tripping out???

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:18 AM Permalink
Bryan D Whaley

I think Battle Creek has a good shot of being the right park.

Treasure Man--very interesting thought with the sign--Grumpy Old Men could have reference to wrong SCENE

think the 9,5,4 clue is doing exactly what the PP wanted it to do... send us in about 20 different directions.... lets keep it simple people

Barton- what do you think they mean then?????

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:22 AM Permalink

You would also SHOUT for a HOMER

So, you think there will be a baseball field, and sledding hill?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:23 AM Permalink
Barton Fink

read my post 2485 to see what i thought they meant.. it's not incredibly simple but it works... (ignore #2 though..)

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:24 AM Permalink
Bill King

Yes --definately a sliding hill--flying down a hill could be reference to a RADIO FLYER (sled)

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:24 AM Permalink
treasure man

how can i find a previous post easily?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:25 AM Permalink

What about Mounds park Bill?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:25 AM Permalink
treasure man

There are baseball fields, ice rinks and even a basketball court all together at phalen!

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:25 AM Permalink
ani

bryan did you read the one about the positions in baseball.....4,5, and 9... the 2nd baseman, 3rd base and right fielder all make a straight line

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:26 AM Permalink
Bill King

No chance--especially with the turnout for the 10 grand--wont rsk it--thats why i dont think its Phalen either---too many lawsuits from the same residents as last time!!!

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:26 AM Permalink
Bill King

I like your thinking ani with the positions--will see if it helps later--kinda like lining things up at como 2 years ago

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:27 AM Permalink
Bryan D Whaley

Ani, very interesting point. PP used that technique two years ago at Como.

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:28 AM Permalink

Mark Adorn plays 2nd for the marlins, 2nd base=#4

Treasureman: Dude, that's the best revelation I've seen in a while, I guess Phalen's back in my game for a while. I'll stop there after Highland as soon as I'm outta here. Anyhow, I'll be moving on to an undisclosed restaurant afterwards. :P

Barton Fink 1/26/99 2:29AM here is the link to my ideas about the numbers... read it slow because i tend to jumble words at this hour... and ignore #2

ani

police precinct # at the police station near highland is 4

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:33 AM Permalink
Barton Fink

ani... the baseball positions reference might be far fetched because the PP knows everyone doesnt follow baseball that closely... almost everyone knows there are 9 innings in a game though...

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:35 AM Permalink
Barton Fink

good thought on the police... i thought "wont be caught" in clue #1 might also mean COPS

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:40 AM Permalink

Highland is sounding like the best possibility. I hope tomorrow's clue is a little more helpful.

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:40 AM Permalink
treasure man

what streets is the police station in highland park located on?????????

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:40 AM Permalink
Barton Fink

bryan... go to preferences and click the link to download the program for the pictures... you need a picture that is tiny (under 3kb).. try shrinking a picture manually if the one you want to put up is too big...

Possibly has anyone had the brigh idea that there is a house with the address 954 across from the park???? Like a landmark that will begin the direction for the treasure......all maps need a refrence point...like when it was at highland in the 50's...the gray house across the street was a big factor!

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:45 AM Permalink
Matt

Actually, you can make the pic as large as you want, the web board shrinks it. At least it did for me (you can view the full pic if you save it). Anyway, I'm gonna scope Highland park now. I'll be docked warm with a hat, vikings sweatshirt (hey, I don't care. We came close... again), and some huge chopper gloves. G'night, people. If I could fix my phone before business hours tomorrow, I'd give out my # if people wanted to meet up somewhere. But, there's always tomorrow. Seeya.
