Me thinks people are asking about a different locale ... not this one that you are trying to sell ...

Barton - we are with you.

I've checked the last 10 years' clues - they don't spell the park out that obvious by the 4th clue - why would they this year? Why would th PP want the medallion found asap? That wouldn't be good pr! They want to keep us hanging as long as possible. Not at NP.

Maybe the medallion is in a figurine of some sort..

oh the clues are with me... 2 more hours to go until another one is hinting at highland... they have us right where they want us though... they can bring up a number of items that relate to BOTH newell and highland, it keeps us divided and prolongs the hunt... the railroad tracks hint at highland and newell, any water references would lean heavily in highlands favor because newell is fairly distant from the river...

Two - I think I need another clue. Lots of Newell I like...but knowing how these things go, I could also decide Phalen or Highland. Maybe after tonight's clue we'll have a better view.

Possibly in a shout(laundry detergent) container of some sort.

There have been many references to Highland as a big park. Keep in mind though that it is almost all golf course, which is off limits. Eliminate that and it's not much different than Newell.

I know its a long shot to do the anagram thingy again, but has anyone been keeping track of the first letter in each Paragraph? So far we have T A F N S - those five letters make no sense, but you can get the word S----- FANS Out of it so far(as in st. paul saints fans). Probably nothing but maybe something in a couple hours! :)

I'll find it before the week-end it over ..... Dang!!! I really want to find it this time!

If this contributes to y'all finding it - great then you owe me a beer. Right after I post this I'm heading out. So here's the deal with Newell for all you newbies and confused HP'ers or Como-ites.

CLUE #1 - "Fairway" & "Scene" = Fair-VIEW. Won't get "caught" = baseball reference - Midway or ballfield at NP.

CLUE #2 - Say's stay away from COMO and sliding hills - sliding hill comes into play in Clue #4

CLUE #3 - "Score" reference to sports = NP has baseball, V-Ball, Tennis, Basketball

9-5-4 + comes together with Clue #4.

"shout" = reference to cheering fans at midway

CLUE #4 - "Studying the Past" = 150 year anniversary of the PP, founded in 1849. In 1849, gues who was President - Zach TAYLOR - Taylor St - runs into Newell.

"as WELL as the NEW" - a clear reference

Iconoclast = Pierce Butler was a revolutionary war figure, rebel (PB borders NP) or this refers to what the medallion is hidden inside (ie; if YOU're willing to BE an iconoclast (destroyer)) - implies you may have to bust something open.

As far as the 9-5 and somewhere a 4 thing. On the corner of Fair-VIEW and Taylor, which is exactly opposite (not near) the sliding hill, is a house with the address 895. Now I know where the "4" is - can't give that one away - but it's real tough to see it in the dark, and you can only see it from a certain angle.

Hope this HELPS - GOOD Luck - If anyone can do the same analysis and make it fit for somewhere else - I'm listening - but.......I'll be at NP.

I agree that it may not be hidden in anything at all iconoclast can be rearranged to spell "a lost coin"

ICONOCLAST=colonastic, which is what I think of the clues

but I'm clueless

We are in Montana and wish we could be home to find the medallion. Good luck to hermie and Rosco. The Montanans are going with Highland. We think the next clue will be a good one!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!

Phalen is so out of the running it's rather sad... we all need to dig up as much dirt on highland and newell,... STREET NAMES, LANDMARKS, NUMBERS ON DOORS, ODD LOOKING TREES, ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT MAY BE USED IN LATER CLUES...

Golden Boy.. i did i similar analysis for Highland... it actually narrows down a segment of highland to look in too...

WW- I kicked around the same spot it was found last year. Nothing. Although I got real excited when I saw a small box like you get when you take food home at a restaurant, but only flies were in it.

Dave or Birdie, you out there??? I'm debating heading to NP now if I can line up someone to call me on my mobile when the clue comes out at 1130. Otherwise I'll have to get the clue on-line and then go. I'll be wearing a black baseball cap with a "golden" MGM Lion emblem, and a dark green jacket. What's your plans?

I'm really looking forward to this next clue. I'll be either going to Highland, which is where I've been at since #1, or out to Newell. Golden Boy just might be swaying me. Hmm. I'm getting flashbacks of last year.

st. bernards i go too. i like NP, but i also cant shake the feeling of HF. finding stuff in the snow is always encouraging, especially when i found a box, with a quarter in it, and a note saying "keep on digging"
