Do all of these parks have ample PARKING.. that is our best clue....this is a FAMILY THING right..kids,etc.??? MUST BE PARKING NEARBY....me thinks..what thinkest the hare?
I'm not discounting Crosby, but I'm not interested in searching it until a couple more clues point there. I'm bettin the next few will toss people around to another park anyway, seen that before.
I feel like there may be a lack of reference points to work off at Crosby, tho- I guess if they wanted a big patch of dense woods to toss it in, Battle Creek would be a better spot.
In Ramsey County, there are more cities than just St. Paul. A Maplewood park is certainly a part in Ramsey County and is eligible for hosting the medallion.
Treasure Hunt clues will be published in the Pioneer Press on the front of the Local section beginning Sunday, January 23, 2005 paper. A new clue will publish daily through Thursday, February 3, 2005 unless the medallion is found prior to that date. Read the daily clues to search for the Pioneer Press medallion hidden on public land in Ramsey County. The medallion will not be found on the State Capitol grounds, on a golf course, Como Zoo, at Harriet Island or at any construction site.
If you find the Pioneer Press medallion, immediately return it to the Pioneer Press, 345 Cedar St., St. Paul, to qualify for the $2,500 initial cash prize, $1,200 of groceries (one $100 Twin Cities Cub Foods Gift Certificate per month for 12 months) and trip to Mexico (blackout dates and some restrictions may apply). Win an additional $2,500 by bringing in all the published daily clues from the Pioneer Press and providing them along with the found medallion.
The Pioneer Press also will award an additional $5,000 to the finder if he/she is a registered 2005 Winter Carnival Button owner and has mailed an official entry form postmarked by Saturday, January 22, 2005 to the Winter Carnival office.
If the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion is not found by 11:59 p.m. February 3, 2005, the Pioneer Press reserves the right to terminate the hunt and donate the prize to a local charity.
The Pioneer Press reserves the right to discontinue the hunt at any time if public property is destroyed.
All contestants agree that the Knight Ridder, Cub Foods, MLT Worry Free Vacations, all other contest partners and their respective affiliate companies, parents, subsidiaries, advertising representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever, and will be held harmless by contestants of any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the prizes or participation in this contest.
Except where legally prohibited, by accepting the prize, the winner grants permission for the Pioneer Press and its partners and those acting under its authority to use his or her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness for advertising and/or publicity.
At the end of the 2005 Treasure Hunt, Pioneer Press Treasure Hunters may take the published clues to any participating Twin Cities Cub Foods stores for a chance to win a $500 or $300 Gift Certificate from Cub. Clues and entry information must be dropped off at participating Twin Cities Cub Stores by Friday, February 11, 2005. A random drawing will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005 and winners will be notified by phone.
No purchase is necessary to win. Photo copies, handwritten and/or online printouts of the published clues will be accepted. All contest rules and decisions are final. Employees and immediate family members of Knight Ridder, all contest sponsors and partners, and the St. Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation are not eligible.
For a list of winners, write to Market Development, 345 Cedar St., St. Paul, MN 55101, or visit TwinCities.com.
Well if it IS at Crosby at least we'll have lots of interesting stuff to log in the "Other things we found on the Hunt" board!

Lots of water! "Mary" Christmas.
From what I remember , last year they gated Crosby just past the Marina.

He said the 'Activity' at Crosby has slowed.

HAHA classic
Ramsey county
Crosby would be one helluva "teaching moment" for the boys....
"Hey, mom, I found these needles can I keep em?"
while away the time- rest stops, bench? along a path/ beside a creek, lake, stuck- taped to a tree?
any park in the county...can be a city park ...
JOE
Damn I can't stop sneezing :(
A park in Ramsey county might be a regional park, a county park, a city park.Â
494 east to 110 to 35E north to Shepard Rd. exit. Left at the bottom of the ramp. Crosby is on your left.
Do the rules still say it's hidden on the ground?
jep it can... cuz it's still ramsey cty
it can be any park within ramsey county, city, county, neighborhood or otherwise.
WB Bill was out there this morning.

http://www.tunnelofterror.com/

Didn't the new rules mention that it could be hidden under ground this year?
Bad idea if they did that...
I'm feelin Battle Creek for some odd reason... dunno why... just am.
OR RUNNINGÂ MM lol
I think I should go dig around every tree, trash can, mailbox and bus stop in St. Paul tonight. Any one wanna join me?
did you listen to AW tell us the rules?
I'm gonna go check out the fairgrounds. They have WHITE WATER rafting during the fair.
Its there. I just know it.
battle creek would be nice, at least a better area to search than crosby...
Hi Terry your wisdom as usual is right on. But with inly 2 clues it is hard not to over noodle.Â
The one thing I keep thinking of is Ice repeated as frozen water, sounds less natural to me.. most definate thing I get so far is there is a path.
Thanks, I doubt it is there, but I will have to do a drive by! I am thinking it is at a small park near como. There are so many to choose from
Scribe- what about that iced over creek next to the walking path in Wellstone park? Meet me there after clue time?
3 of a kind Joe

I didn't see the official rules addressing my question, but Reggie did. Reggie's a smart guy.
And plenty of parking Scribe.
