Homer is between Gannon and Elway also.    Giant falls = cyclcops from the Odyssey.  We might have a winner.

How about parks near fire stations? the "siren" calls from there . . .

Crosby Farm,

Field generals ---think quarterbacks

No offense to the men seeking men crowd, but now we have to hunt amongst them. They should have a field day with all the fresh meat comin down !

Whats that stuff Cosmoe Cramer sprayed on himself to make himself disgusting smelling , I need some !

Robert Burns was a Scottish poet... There's Burns by Bat Creak.

Homer was a philosopher.

Yeah, it's mighty quiet in here, BergBoyz.

I don't know much about St Paul parks, but the four clues I've read are virtually screaming "SHORT HUNT."  Or at least not getting to the 12th clue.  This year is not going to be a stampede on the last night, IMHO.

Isn't Crosby considered kinda a sketchy park?

Tue, 01/25/2005 - 11:16 PM Permalink
Terry

There's a Longfellow at Merriam too.

I can't find Gannon St. at Crosby, can anyone point it out a little more clearly?

Tue, 01/25/2005 - 11:16 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

Sounds like we got some false leads again. Battle Creek, or Crosby, or will something from left field come back into play in a few more clues?

The west entrance to the park is convienently at Gannon Rd and the east entrance is at Elway Rd.

"the giant falls"

glacial river warren falls - drained glacial lake agassiz 10,000 years ago down the Minnesota River valley (which hits the Mississippi at Crosby/HF).  The remnants of the glacial falls can be seen at both hidden falls and minnehaha falls.

Tue, 01/25/2005 - 11:26 PM Permalink

Siren's could be the sirens in Homer's Oddysey.

Crosby Info

General Information

Crosby Farm Nature Area preserves a natural flood plain area of the Mississippi River. During floods, fish and other aquatic animals gain access to the Upper Crosby Lake, Lower Crosby Lake, and all the pondsscattered throughout Crosby's forest.

The park encompasses 6.7 miles of paved trails, many of which run along wooded bottomlands next to the Mississippi River. Visitors can get away from the city's frenzy in the park's 534 acres of flood-plain habitat.
