I walked all the way up to the entrance near 35E today. It's a LONG ways! Nothing very interesting though. Just the lake on one side and trees on the other. There is an open marsh spot up near the end there, but that's about it.
river is open water now anyways, would have to bring a boat to cross it, like I said, the only access is on the western side of the island, and to get there, you go through Fort Snelling State Park (Remember you have to pay for parking too).
I think I've noodled this all enough for one night. Can't find anything that will help the cause so I might as well head for the sheets and some sleep time.
I walked up that ways before, I was wondering about more southeast of there, I'm guessing you'd run into a fence or barrier of some sort before reaching the freeway.
I'm thinkin there's a good possibility the puck won't be found tomorrow, assuming someone can even find the right grove, I'm not so sure that'll even be the final piece of this puzzle.
I was down in that area today, towards the river.. didn't see too much, save some XC Ski tracks that I followed. didn't really lead to anything though.
I've been trying to do some satellite imaging, but it keeps crashing on me. I don't think they'd send us *onto* Pike Island, but it could well be a point of reference for us.
I too am headed for bed. Waiting for the darn satellite sites to load, I keep closing my eyes...
Young woman or man, while you still can Gnash your teeth and put on the glove On cross country skis take the trail through the trees Where the eagle flies with the dove.
I think in clue #4, the writer is leading us to the park from the Ford plant (the siren calls, which it does for the workers there every day). Moving to the east: tween field generals Ren & Stimpe or whatever their names are) the poet sings (Homer). That down beyond (look south) the once blue pond (not lake). Then, #5 takes us to the shelter...
Nothing except maybe you have to be able to see the island? Closer to the river? I don't know that park that well. I've only been as far as the pavilion, so I really don't know.
When I was your age, they called it the awkward age. The boys were gangly and the girls hadn't grown into their bodies yet. We all thought we were toads!Â

wonder if I stepped on that puck today then... I certainly was in that area.
Is there any mention of drake nests anywhere? Since I'm on the subject, what the heck is a DRAKE?

I like your attitude. Self confidence. Rare in someone your age.

Okay so here's my tracklog from today. I've waypointed the shelter and the sign that mentions an eagle. Pike Island is due south.
