Just got back from the roseville kickoff. I just gotta say, their hunt is one of the nices organized out of the city hunts. Even if the prize isn't, it's more of getting the find anyway. And I've always liked them reading the first clue at the amphitheater, just seems like a good way to start a hunt.
Off to Oakdale Park now. might see some of ya out there.
Was out at Oakdale, ran into 3M. Didn't see much I liked, so came home. Just wasn't feeling it. Hoping that tomorrow brings better luck for me. Or if someone else is going to find it, it's KC.
Just finished looking for the Roseville medallion...all I know is a lot of places it isn't...nice to run into KCOGRN at the kick-off...and neat that they are giving out the GPS coordinates, even if it won't help much for the first few days... :eyeroll:
None yet. I just can't seem to get into any of these for some reason. I started the on-line ones and tried getting into the Montana thing but just didn't have the drive. I figure if I try any of them it should be the Roseville one because I don't have a button so that makes me twice as favored to find it than those who do. :eyeroll:
I was out at Owasso Hills earlier hunting for the Roseville treasure, and I saw this woman diggin for it just off one of the paths. Then I realized it was Diggin 4 it. Nice seeing her out there. The park looks good, but I've checked a bunch of the trees near the ponds, and nothing. A fair amount of hunters out there, and the area has been gone over good. I'm wondering if we're just really missing it, or if they are misleading with their clues (how far away is a splash really?).
There really isn't that much to look through. Apparently there were about 40 people out there this morning and only a few while we were looking. After Clucky & Diggin left there wasn't really anyone left. We looked for another 2 hours after they left and felt that it had to have been found already. Nice little park though.
I was out from 10-11:30 this morning, and again from 7-8 tonight...I think we looked in all of the obvious spots, and a few that were very hard to get to...it will be interesting to see where it is/was.... :worried:
The Hermes Golden Rose Medallion has been FOUND! Congratulations to Brandy Cheron for deciphering the clues and using the mapping coordinates to discover the illusive gold medal. Brandy will collect her prize package Tuesday evening at the BBQ & Blues event. Thanks to all who participated in the medallion hunt and Rosefest 2006.
We found a note last night in the base of a tree that said "...the RoseFest Medallion was here"
It was in the park, back by the ponds, where the bench is on a hill overlooking the ponds...as you sit on the bench, the tree was the large tree 20' to the right...not sure it's real, but seems likely...there was a hole/crack at the back of the tree that could easily have housed a coin out of sight... :frown:
guess I'm not that on the ball... oops...
Welp, I'm off to get lost in Oakdale for a few hours.. maybe I'll stumble across a medallion.
Or, at least I'll learn something and see things I hadn't seen before.
Ah well, off to bed, see if I can get a jump on things in the morning.
It was very strange. I don't know where my mind comes up with this stuff??? :eyeroll:
except for the ones where I dream I'm at work.... gah!
oddly enough, it was at Battle Creek, which isnt even in Roseville... its funny how dreams can do that type of thing....
That is kinda weird though... who hides a medallion in a nut goodie wrapper, anyhow?
Like that would ever happen.

Heh, no luck at oakdale. I also ran into 3M, then mucluck then kitch.
Hoping tomorrow's clue will help.

umm...I'm confused....so would this be on west or east side of a lake?
If it's still around tomorrow morning I'll go have a look.
hunted with last years finder...
also hunted with the MASTER of Roseville parks..
I mean...its just not right that somebody even tried to HIDE something in HIS parks...

While crews continue their work on the roads
there's a quiet place where the trucks don't go
hidden away where no one can see
lies the medallion at the base of a tree.

sorry...but I find it funny...I'm tired and anything makes me giggle right now...

We were right there looking at that tree yesterday thinking it was the perfect tree for it.
Oh well.
Weird, I just called the Manitou Days hunt number and they released the final clue today. That one didn't get found yet?
