Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

That sonnet is interesting. It definitely fits with the clues. The idea that the flower's beauty is strapped in walls of glass could be allusion to what the medallion is trapped in. I am such a nerd, I got out my collection of sonnets and have been reading them looking for flower references. I guess my English major is serving its purpose tonight!

posted this earlier, but does anyone think that the puck could be hidden in a gatorade wrapper? After all it is the thirst quencher, it says so on the label.

They would have hidden it in something from the press building.

This sonnet is written as a pair with sonnet 6. It repeats the emphasis on human aging, compared with progress of the seasons. The final couplet about "distilled flowers" refers to the extraction of perfume from petals, in which the visible "show" of the flowers disappears, but their "essence" remains. The reference is probably to the Youth's "seed" - his capacity to prolong his "essence" by producing children, but it is also an example of Shakespeare's play on the question of what is transient and what eternal in the material world.

Back from Como--

I'm always frustrated to go there. For two reasons. One, it's just so huge, and not as contiguous as the maps would have you believe. It's in quite a few segments, not all of them easy walks between in Winter.

And second--it is so full of amenities, you can get any clue to fit there. I think that means a swing! Como has swings! I think that means water, Como has a pool and a lake! Como has benches! Como has flowers! Is there any clue you could read about a possible park amenity that eliminates Como? I can't think of one.

Como is kind of the treasure hunt spot of last resort. I almost feel I haven't been thinking hard enough if I'm there.

I just dont like the place, because im sick of it as far as hunts go.

Its a good place to take detours through (even if its out of the way), and remember....

But I'd rather not be back there for a hunt, for a while...

I decided to stay home tonight because I wanted to have access to the internet when the clue came out. My gut feeling is it may be a thinker. I also wanted to visit my girlfriend one more time before she leaves town for the weekend. Plus it's warm here.
