Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

Thanks for the info, and thanks to Kitch for finding that out...

but in all honesty....

the lady he talked to, is probably just a desk clerk, and has no idea what anyone from the PP does.

by now, they know that people are looking at Central, and if they knew that there was a problem going on there, they'd post something either online, or in the paper, or both, to let hunters know to keep away from that area....

as far as i'm concerned if the clues fit it, and we havent been told by someone official that its off limits, then it can still be on the list.

And it does fit alotta stuff.

I've been warned about staying out of saint paul parks too, during the medallion hunt, and that hasnt ever stopped me....

Roseville is a little guy.... bring him on.

There is a central village park in St. Paul. Maybe the clues fit there in some sort of jujitsu switch.
Mon, 01/29/2007 - 12:00 PM Permalink
queenmalley

It could be in the central area of a park, not central park literally.

Mold-o-rama with the word menagerie??? At como park of all places, what the heck, does the press do this on purpose whats the chance they would use that word right next to the new clue?

Brass Monkey - It wouldn't be the first time that such a coincidence occurred.

THG: Larry Ho zone "located in the center of the park"

cen·tral (sĕn'trəl)

adj.

Situated at, in, or near the center: the central states.

Forming the center.

Having dominant or controlling power or influence: the company's central office.

Easily reached from various points: a central location for the new store

But the rest of the clues don't fit Larry Ho zone...

Agreed but she was in on the Roseville hunt. He knew it from when MuCluck went to claim her Roseville medallion $.

I just think it would be pretty gusty of the PP to put it there without getting some sort of consent from the Roseville P&R Dept. It could lead to some bad blood in the future between the two P&R offices. Being that they both want some of that county money.

But I also look at it like when a cop tells you that it's not in such and such park. They don't really know anything and don't have the knowledge to have an opinion anyway. I just think it would be in bad taste of the PP do hide it there. Heck, I think it's in bad taste to even put out a red herring there for that matter.

I guess we'll need to wait for another clue to see where it takes us again.

Isn't CoNo - where you have close ohs... - considered a central park of St. Paul?

I like Malley's central part of the park. Thass good!

Found there 1997, ten years later....?

and '65.

look up clues from those years.

10,000 dollars in 07 (1997) and half is 5,000 dollars (1965); 10,000 in 07, 5,000 in 65. 5,000 fishes.

stretching it....!

Just got home from hunting. Only saw one other person carrying a tool. Well, actually I didn't have a too either. My garage door won't go up. :worried:

I did see a lone pickup near where I wanted to walk into the woods and I started in and got kind of scared. I did find a bottle with a large cap that I unscrewed. Looked new. But not there.

It's a nice day out there though! :goofy:

ok I'm sure it means nothing but I found a singer named Dinger. Sorry just noodling.

La Düsseldorf was the German project founded in 1974 by drummer, guitarist, and singer Klaus Dinger, former member of Kraftwerk and Neu!. The band was completed by a series of musicians, including Nikolaus Van Rhein (keyboards, synthesizer) Thomas Dinger (vocals, percussion), Hans Lampe from Neu! (percussion, electronics), Harald Konietzko (bass), and Andreas Schell (piano). La Düsseldorf was one of the most representative bands and ultimate survivors from the krautrock scene. The band recorded three legendary albums in a period of seven years, produced by the legendary Kraftwerks producer, Conny Plank.

And the two Tony Bennett songs I came up with are "I left my heart in San Fransisco...High on a hill...etc" and "Fly me to the moon," which could be a vague reference to z-man's arse end, but may also refer to the rocket ship climber in Central...maybe...(need another clue...)

http://local.live.com/ has better resolution than google does. if i knew how to interface with that (give me time, i can learn iffen its possible) the medallion map page would use it rather than the google maps.

bud, if they hid it before they announced it, it won't be the same medallion. par ridder took it from jake mid-press connference, and if i remember right had it in his hand, along with the chest from 1953, as he announced it.

maybe it's just me....but the best way to make sure no one finds it BEFORE clue #9....don't bother to drop the puck until clue #9...(course, I still think Oswald acted alone and Elvis is alive and opening for Buddy Holly in Vegas...)

The puck was taken from Jakes hand by Julie mid conference. Then 20 minutes later the clue writer...i mean par ridder announced another hunt.
