Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

Just finished slogging. break's done, back to editing 6000 customer files.

only break I've had since 8am. I'm soooo wiped out, wish I could say I was tired from noodling the clues or hunting.

I hunted for wood for the fire pit at Crosby. My kids were hunting and I stayed at the fire and babysat.

But if hunting online counts, I'm all over that! :goofy:

No one's ever in the parks when I go out in the field. :frown: I was looking for a big, black Caddie today.

GOT IT

Grab you handy locating device but not your cell phone, hit the trail in the park and try to look at something with only the whites of your eyes to discover the prize. Then postiton yourself between some orbs and a menagerie of fun wild or tame. When you get there then pray to Jesus because you are not supposed to call him on the cell phone and ask for bread and fish. I bet the medallion will just rain down from the sky encased in ice and I'm sure it will smell very pretty.

from Shakespeare's glossary:

white-upturned: with eyes rolled, as in the whites of the eyes turned upward. (Romeo and Juliet) i.e. looking upward

Romeo-

She speaks:

O, speak again, bright angel! for thou art

As glorious to this night, being o'er my head

As is a winged messenger of heaven

Unto the white-upturned wondering eyes

Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him

When he bestrides the lazy-pacing clouds

And sails upon the bosom of the air.

Maybe looking upwards while standing on a "convenient plot" as in a plot of land.

A restroom? A convenience store near a park? A parking lot?

Just a thought about the whites of your eyes. A google search turned up the fact that humans have the most white around their eyes, making it easier for others to see which direction we are looking. The more white, the more the person is looking way up or down.

"The whites of our eyes are several times larger than those of other primates, which makes it much easier to see where the eyes, as opposed to the head, are pointed."

I'm reading posts at the PP and came across one talking about spotters. And it made me remember something about today.

I was at the park for two hours. When I drove in I noticed a car parked on the road and a fellow sitting in it reading something. I looked kind of closely because it kind of looked like someone I know. I even went past the car a couple of times to see if he would look up from whatever he was reading and I could get a better look at his face. But he always had his face in the papers he was looking at.

So when I'm leaving the park two hours later, he's still there! Still sitting there. I'm thinking someone gets a really long lunch! I turned around once again and drove by REALLY slow, thinking if he sensed a car going by really slow he'd look up. Nope! I was pretty much stopped 15 or so feet from his car and he never looked up.

Now at the time I was just scoping him out to see if it was my friend who I haven't seen for a while. But now after reading the posts at PP, it kind of makes me go hmmmmmmmm.

There was a guy in a kind of older stationwagon-like car that was sitting in the parking lot, not really doing anything. I saw him sitting in the car and thought "spotter!".

Usually when I see people parked in a park like that I figure they're just resting, or having lunch, or maybe even meeting someone.

But two hours is a long time.
