"The year ahead promises change as you take on a whole new perspective."
This actually started happening back in Sept of last year my whole life outlook changed and I've really changed a lot in my life as this new perspective took hold. I think its just because I'm nearing 30 and while I don't fear 30 AT ALL I've decided that changes were needed and I've broken free from some of the things that I let hold me back. I'm really becoming more me and not afraid of what others think so much anymore. Hard to describe but I always use to do things or not do things because I thought it was what was expected of me now I'm just more me and I'm much more happy because of it!
Its always sad to lose some one as close as a parent, but it's a blessing that the suffering is over. Hope you find the support you need in your greif.
Hey sweetie.. I just heard the news. I'm so sorry for your loss :frown: It is a bit easier to be at peace knowing that he's not suffering any more, but no matter how much you try to prepare for something like this, you never can. If you need anything, please let me know. Mark and I are thinking about you and praying for you. *hugs* Take care of yourself.
Thank you everyone knowing that I can always come here and have a shoulder to lean on means a lot! When I get back into town I'd like to get together with several of you and just hang out. Its funny that during the hunt I am less stressed than any other time of the year I think even though I get very little sleep and it isn't the hunt that does the destressing its all of the great people. Even without the medallion I'd still get together with each and everyone of you and just hang out everyday if I could! Over the years I've found that you are so much more than fellow hunters I concider you friends. Alright I'm getting sappy....but I do mean it. Thanks for being here!
I've been thinking of you too. Things are finally starting to return to normal around here (sorta) my sister is still in town with her husband and 3 kids so things are still chaotic but the service was last weekend and so I'm not running here and there and everywhere trying to get things set up. It was a beautiful service (with the exception of the pastors homily which I think was a little off). Kids are on spring break next week so I'm hoping I might get a little R and R with the girls especially if its still really nice outside.
There was a fill-in priest at my father's funeral. Our priest was on vacation. He kept calling my father James during the homily. My father's name was John and he had been a member and an usher at our church for over 50 years and was called James during his eulogy.
My mother was quite hard of hearing at the time and kept saying what a beautiful service it was. Fortunately, she couldn't hear a word.
At the time we were just happy that my mother didn't hear it. Just as long as God knew who he was is what counts.
I'm sure it was a little disconcerting for my father's brother James, who was at the funeral.
As time passes, your grief will be trumped by wonderful memories of your father. And then things like that become humorous and part of the family lore.
Agreed...when we were serving as pall bearers for my grandpa's funeral, We were driving from the church to the cemetery and my brother asked "Did Fred work at Honeywell for very long?" ...and we stared at him and then laughed, as we realized he meant to say "Herb", which was grandpa's name....we still joke about grandpa Fred 25 years later.
It does make for funny moments later on in life, but I think I would have walked up and quitly corrected him after the 2nd time. Or maybe hold up sign with his name on it and wave my arms so he'd see me in the back.
To any an all who stop by this season, Happy Holiday's!!
I'm having a hard time getting into the spirit this year everything just seems off this year and I can't put my finger on any one thing that is wrong, maybe I'm just off....I'll be back before the hunt when hopefully I'm feeling more myself. I'll be gone the week before the hunt getting a nice tan maybe that will bring my spirits back
a friend sent this to me recently its a very touching video. Watch it all the way through if your going to watch and its better with sound but works without as well.
sounds. um. weird.
and my funest fact of the day.... Minnesota became a territory on this day in 1849.
So the sun will give my Anus conjuctivitis or what? LOL Ares is right that does sound a bit odd!
