Fair board meeting tonight - question arose "should we go ahead and have a table at Taste of Maplewood next Thursday, Mike said he would work it" this led to a 20 minute conversation on why it's a good idea (we all agreed before this that it was a good idea) then discussed who would work it (apparently they didn't hear the part of Mike would work it) THEN who what how to set up the tent and table (note: Mike did this last year so he knows what needs to be done)....
lack of $$$$$$$$$$$$ to do all the cool summer stuff. Gas this morning was $4.69 a gallon. At that rate, I can buy a new car and pay for less gas than drive my explorer.
Subscribing to Consumer Reports at $5.95 a month - only to find they haven't done a single review of carpet cleaners. Their 'comments' section is loaded with complaints, including one from me. They put a line in RED on the main description page explaining they will do a review of Carpet cleaners in 2009. I can't wait.
Our old Eureka Carpet cleaner is dying, and I needed to get something quick. We surfed all of the local stores. Kohl's has the greatest variety, but not always the greatest price. They are selling a Rug Doctor for $679.00 ?!?! I ended up getting this model for about $175...
I'm looking at reviews for kitchen appliances as well. If anyone here wants a report/review, tell me what you're looking for - I can probably save it as a PDF from the web page and e-mail it to you.
A huge red maple tree blew over at my house on 4th Street last night. Took out electric and phone lines. It punched a hole in the garage and pulled the power line right out of the house so have to get an electrician to fix that before Xcel will come and hook it up again. Phone guy is there now though.
That storm came through by me (BY 3M) last night too. The sirens went off and I went out and looked. The sound of the wind was wicked! Never heard it like that before. Just a roar. Then it went away quickly.
Thanks mrmikey. But its my son's problem. I'm renting out the house to him. I did lend him my chain saw though.
When I heard the wind picking up I ran up to my sleeping porch to lock down the canvass shandes. By the time I'd finished doing that the wind had almost stopped. It wasn't long before I could see the moon shining. I'd made up the beds out there just yesterday and spent my first night sleeping there last night. I slept for ten hours!
We got hit with about 35 seconds of warning - dead calm in Woodbury - then I heard the sirens. My car was outside with the windows rolled down - scrambled downstairs with my keys and darn near got blown OVER the car trying to get in! Got both cars in the garage before the rain hit - but MAN that came on fast!

8. People thinking they're a DJ. Why the FU*K did we hire one if you're such a goddamned pro at doing his job?

We were getting in the car, and it was super nice out....
We drove 2 minutes away - to a liquor store in Maplewood...
We were inside the place for literally about 10 seconds, when the owner and a couple other guys, who had been outside smoking, came running inside.... "Oh my god! You gotta see this!!"
I stepped outside to see wtf was going on - LOTS of wind.... we watched street signs being bent in half.... lots of rain...
came home to a HUGE branch down in the back yard.....
Spent most of Sunday afternoon chainsawing up what will probably be used as firewood....
I remember a thunderstorm that came through once in the dead of night - like 3:30 am about three years ago. He had a nasty wind and hail. I turned on the TV - and NOTHING - no storm warnings, nothing! I looked at the radar on channel 17 and it was huge - covered most of the east metro. It was like the weather service was asleep.
I think eventually a bleary-eyed reporter read a weather message about some "thunderstorm activity" on Channel 9 - most likely it was the morning traffic guy. By the time he was on the air the worst of it was already in Wisconsin. Nice. :coolfrown:
I would encourage you and your bride to do a private ceremony of your own at some point very soon after the wedding - within hours or days. Perhaps go to a place that is special to both of you, and just say what is in your hearts. Make it yours - all yours.
It is easy to understand why people decide, at the last minute, to elope!!
Red - In the end you just gotta go with the flow. It's a helluva lot easier to surf on top of the waves than it is to hold back the storm surge.
The whole thing is just a show for the bride, anyway. You get a few free drinks, dress in a penguin costume, and blow a huge wad of cash. We've looked at our wedding album a total of three times maybe in the last nine years, and the video is STILL stuck in bunch of raw files on my computer waiting to be edited!
There's plenty I would have changed about our wedding, but in the end it's just ONE DAY!
Last and final word of advice - one phrase - learn it well and practice it frequently - it will get used every day for the rest of your life....
I haven't stopped eatting them. Infact I ate an entire basket of grape ones today, and had my hands in a 5 gallon bucket of them yesterday making tacos...
bring it. if it doesn't kill me - it will just make me stronger.
17 reasons why I would just do it on a beach. me, him, and someone with authority. - sorry it's such a bummer bear. Does it help to know you aren't the only person who has those problems when it comes to weddings?

UGH - useless conversations
I love people who constantly ask for more details too:
Is that next Thursday as in TOMORROW, or as Thursday Next Week Thursday?
Um, the date is the 19th - get a calendar, dammit.
I usually have triple commitments most nights - if I actually had a whole day to do nothing - I'm not sure what I'd do with myself.
I could also use a clone to come into work, and one to do school every morning.
oh and a clone to cook, clean and go to the gym.
that would be great.
maybe one to work a second job to keep me in my life of fun too..

Yikes! I thought $4.31 was bad for premium here. How much is premium there?
forgetting this and eating on on my sammy from jimmy johns...damn it...my tummy bad :frown:
darn skippy....you hit it on the head...i'm as paranoid as they come to my body and my health.

The only good news is, that's a lot of fire wood!
Maybe no one can post because they have no power.

Our wedding (daughters) is over and it was FABULOUS!!! It went so amazingly smooth...no issues.....no problems......and incredibly beautiful.
I hope yours goes as well....it was a total blast!
Heh, had to do a double take when you guys were waving at me.
we were on our way to Wally World, over in Hudson... after cleaning up crap from the previous nights mess...
Carolyn goes, "Hey is that KC?"
haha.... yep... sure is!
Yeah, my car stands out, especially when my plates say KC0GRN.
Plus we were planning on eating someplace first, and Woodbury is hard to plan around, since they started closing at night...
Hudson, also has that cool park, with that long concrete walkway/pier thing, right by the river... thats always fun to stop at...
Stillwater used to be my second favorite, til they upgraded to "super" status...
bring it. if it doesn't kill me - it will just make me stronger.
