Treasure lore to me says - Treasure map, x marks the spot...Blackbeard and Captain Kidd....

Also, red and blue could refer to flag colors...union jack, red & blue ensign.

Its the same clue, only the early one is scrambled. Although it hasn't been hard to unscramble thus far.

Well went to Cherokee Park for a good 6 hours today looking for the medallion. I didn't go too far down in the steeper areas, but did a general check in just about every other area, even went under the bridge for a bit under smith. No medallion yet :frown: But, I did find 4 pirate medallions. I found 3 on/near a public park bench and one beside a tree.Below is a picture of them, two are showing the front the other two are showing the back.

Thanks for showing what I'm looking for while I'm out there. I went out for an hour today with the kids and didn't find any at Phalen but I'm going to try again maybe tomorrow or Tuesday if I can get away for a bit.

I'm not liking that to enter the medallion drawing on FB I have to allow UPICKEM so much access to my account.

Anagrams were one of the original concepts of Scrabble when it was called Lexiko. I agree with Terry, I bet Scrabble is some clue for Triple Score; although triple hat trick with hockey rink is also good.

The inventor of Scrabble got his idea from Edgar Allen Poe's The Gold Bug: "Anagrams would be more fun if the most common letters in English were more common in the game."

Google "lexiko" if you are dying to know more. Then google Scrabble.

That Gold Bug poem by Edger Allen Poe I mentioned earlier that formed the idea of Scrabble, and the inventor's love of anagrams, has this description about the short story The Gold Bug:

That Gold Bug short story by Poe is all about treasure hunting. weird. A big formula using clues to find the treasure. Google The Gold Bug. Interesting.

Except for that Clue #1 this year does specifically say it IS in a park.

Hate to break it to you guys but the 60th hunt ago was not Highland......It was Hidden Falls.....

I know, just having fun with the "X". Heh!

One other thought I had that I don't necessarily put much faith in is maybe triple score refers to a year when three people shared the credit for finding it.

Interesting ... Washington senators last year was 60 (triple score) before becoming the Minnesota twins. Both teams colors were red and blue. Big reach, I know, just streching the brain a bit.

This was one of the first things I noticed with clue one was specificly in a park not public land.

If this is the 61st year of the hunt, and you go back 60 years, you would be in the 1st year of the hunt which would indeed be Highland.

Ahhh but I said 60 hunts ago not 60 years....And I counted wrong it would have been MN Fair Grounds....1953 because of the double hunt years in 1953 and 2007

Oh I see, it would be Hidden Falls if you count actual hunts, since some years have had more than 1.

for some reason I added 2 hunts in 2010 (don't ask me why) and came up with Hidden Falls but actually there was only one that year...so it doesnt work since MN Fairgrounds are off limits

Yes Skari, I hooked both of them when they were in grade school. They even magically got the flu around clue 9 till hunt was over. One year we ran into the principle of their school while hunting. LOL They would come home from school do homework, eat dinner and be in bed by 5 p.m. and then I'd get them up to go get clue at 11:30. that was when there was to clues a day. By the time they were in high school there were excellent treasure hounds. Lmao..I created monsters!!!! ( secretly proud of it)
