2012 Clues
So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.
Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.
I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

I feel red herrings out there left and right.
"Woof" says the dog- In 1988 the treasure was wrapped in almond BARK
"Babble" says the brook- In 1988 the park giveaway clue mentioned the TV show "Our Miss Brooks" which starred Eve Arden.
Most of clue 7 is made up of Mike Madland quotes.
Special claim- Don Madland was credited as being the youngest finder in hunt history.
If you didn't know any of that, you'd be looking for dogs, running water, shamrocks, and anything that could be considered a special claim. But the clues did say they would be using treasured lore, and it has in much the same way they used Don Boxmeyer as a running theme at Swede Hollow.

At the point there are way too many obvious references to history for it to be an accident. The only way this thing isn't at Tony Schmidt is if you really think they are using all these historical references to trick the dedicated hunters (us) who know the history well. I personally think they are throwing us a bone. Now, did they thrown us another bone to pinpoint the location in the park and we just haven't sniffed it yet?
scratches or scores. Big air(the jumps) and all the little (and not so little) divits in the ground. Todays clue forced me to think of anything else in many parks-bike paths all I could come up with. The Ballfield light as well as Brighten were both visable.
What if this is referring to past medallion hiding spots? That might suggest it actually is closer to the original hiding spot and would lend a bit of consistency across the entire clue.

Couldn't that mean merely a commonality in parks (most people thinking trees-I'm twisting it to bike paths) while maintaining the pairing of words (Perry(many)). Sorry-I don't know how to punctuate that, but you all know what I mean.
I ventured out today at BC for four hours and was surprised that there were quite a few people out there as well. I am still sad that I am not getting the Highland vibe, was there till clue 3 and out looking, but the clues just don't fit right now.
There was defiantly more hunters on the Maplewood side looking in BC than anywhere else. A fellow hunter and I made our way to last year's hidden site and I am shocked that it was up there that steep! Was it by the weird "rooted" tree ( not toppled over) across from the old stairs? Shocked it was that hard to get to from below!
I can honestly say I am stuck and not set on either TSP or BC. I have to admit, I wish I could tell who is part of the crew! I didn't want to just randomly start asking, lol I need a button or something that gives the CC love
As a side note, neither of my kids have been able to find any pirate medallions in any of the 10 or so parks we've looked in. I'm getting to the point where I'd consider buying a couple off somebody who has way too many for their own good, that they'll never use. If that's you, shoot me a PM. I can either meet you in the park in the next couple days (preferred), or paypal you some funds if you would rather send them.
I hope tonight's clue isn't a dead giveaway. After this weekend's festivities and digging all afternoon, I am EXHAUSTED and cannot fight sleep any longer. If it is a really good one, though, wake me up and I'll meet you back at the park. A few of you have my number. Sweet dreams!
Nice seeing you at the Beer Dabbler.
Count on it
Now I dig a little here, a little there. Mostly scouted the last couple of days. Walk, look, and talk. Take mental notes for futures clues.
My calves are killing me tonight.... these boots aren't made for walking.
