2012 Clues
So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.
Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.
I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

And it was fun meeting you the other day and getting to put a face with the username!

I learned this from Terry last night.
Seriously, has there EVER been a clue before when you had to combine two colors to make it work? I cannot recall that EVER happening. When a color is mentioned, it is pretty much THAT color that IS intended.
Red means RED, or 'Read' if you play on words
Blue means BLUE, or 'Blew' if you're being punny
There's tons of things that are red and blue in or near just about every park, and there's already one clue that alludes to the Vikings - so please STOP with Red+Blue=Purple=Vikings=Arden Hills -- it is just one too many steps needed in translation.

Did you hunt Mounds a few years ago? There were 6 degrees of separation from the clue to the answer - brown is the color of mud, which is what trucks drive through, Ford makes a truck called a Ranger, rangers patrol parks, that have deer in them. Which meant that "Go to the town that's brown" means find a park with deer.
I was out for a few hours this evening. Came across that little treasure chest cache, which made the stomach drop for a quick second. I knew it was a big park, but when you're actually out there in the woods, there sure is a MASSIVE amount of ground to cover until things are narrowed down. Only saw a few people actually putting a rake/stick to the ground, most were just poking around (myself included).
Hoping tonight's clue coaxes me back off the couch and out to the park.
I've been noodling along on my own this year and was pleasantly surprised to log in a couple days ago to see that others were thinking TSP. I was in Perry last year by myself for 3 or 4 days, early in the hunt. The area is certainly familiar.
And I was just joking about it... didn't think they'd actually be stupid enough to have these songs uploaded long before the clue release, no matter what they've renamed them to.
Anyway, I'm off my soapbox now. lol :coolfrown:

sounds like some one alerted the PP about what we joked about
--- Yeah, I know some clues/explains have gotten complicated, but if there is already a Vikings clue, the Red+Blue=Purple is basically invalid.
--- A real simple explanation is that the trash dumpsters have a Red & Blue company logo on them, which could simply mean you have to walk past them and INTO the park to find it.
Just trying to keep the KISS principle alive.
2900 joe!
