2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

That site says shelters and under other amenities it states gazebo as in one.

I do think for the clue writer, they might interpret the shelters as gazebos.

Just about any picnic shelter is a 'Gazebo' - unless it is an enclosed building with doors & windows

I think there used to be a dome in the park, but I don't see it anymore on googlemaps.

Sounding like the front end of the park.

Based on the map that green team posted, I would say there is a specific gazebo.

good find.

Hence, I think it's gazebo-specific rather than shelter. Just a guess.

The irony would be awesome if it ends up right by the parking lot where for days people have quickly parked and then walked mile after mile out into and around the parks. :pbpt:

Follow your nose to the smell?

There's too many words in this one and too many combinations to translate - screw it I'd rather wait an hour

There was a domed shelter in 1988 a bit further east than where the medallion was found. I don't know when that was changed, but it's not there now.

how about the "gazebo's on a playground...just sayin' those covered areas look like gazebo's ... ok shutting up now because even to my ears thats ridiculous.... I'll noodle more when the actual clue comes out rather than noodling the scramble...

Ugliest gazebo I've seen!! Aren't gazebos kinda romantic and round and decorative?!
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 9:02 PM Permalink
mrmnmikey

There are 3 gazebos...one in park, 2 on private property

I was at that part of the park by the parking lots late last night when clue 9 came out and looked all up the shoreline and I did some more today. Lots of leaves in that area but pretty well searched over. I sure hope it's someplace I didn't walk over otherwise I'll have to live with that!

well at least you'd have the knowledge that you didn't actually have it in your hand and then put it back.... :lipsealed: If I had to chose I'd rather walk over it.

A 'Gazebo' is any free-standing structure that is open on all sides - wood, brick, romantic, functional - doesn't matter

westy - we have walked over it at Wakefield, TSP, sat on it at Newell in 84. You do live with it knowing you were close.

But a pretty one is much more romantic.

They are nicer...some one posted about the garage one the other day. Pink I think....The other one is just off E2 on the north side of tracks as you enter the trail from the north

Thanks. Tried napping this eve but no luck. Probably pop a couple more pills and try again after clue is out. Then again, I just might need fresh air:-)

"Gazebos" plural, so if one is by the beach and another is on E2 probably just bringing us to the south end
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 9:13 PM Permalink

Maybe its the smell of fresh air...or the port-a-pot at the boat launch.
