2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

A road there is that's interfacial = railroad

Hint: All of the rocky areas near the tracks is railroad right-of-way and should be safely construed as OFF-LIMITS because it is an ACTIVE rail line - same as bridge in Lilydale - stay off the tracks when searching!

well elmer anderson trail, great...that's still a lot of park

So.. somewhere along the trail between the park entrance and the train tracks? Most likely still in the woods somewhere.

I think the first part says to be on the right track you need to be on the right side of the tracks...so south of the tracks towards the lake

"nearer end smell" just doesn't sound right so maybe an anagram???
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 9:40 PM Permalink
l and a mommy

It's Elmer L Andersen so the anagram fits perfect.

also like the trail from the entrance to the elmer trail

There is a nice big clump of trees to the west of the trail in the midst of the marsh that looks inviting (away from the houses)

Clue is already up on Facebook...

Clue No. 10

If you are now taken aback,

Then you are, my friend, on the right track.

Benches, tables, gazebos galore

To sit and admire the view from the shore.

But yours is not to sit or rest;

To scramble and search will serve you best.

Respect the land where people dwell.

But follow your nose to the nearer end smell.

I think it says to follow the trail past the gazebo and past the tracks, don't bother the neighboring houses, which are through the woods up the hill
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 9:42 PM Permalink
Gilby

When I think of scramble, I think of scrambling up a hill.

Scramble is another Golf term - but golf really doesn't fit that park at all
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 9:44 PM Permalink
excavating stud

I think scramble was a clue to the anagram

Hrmm.. well I doubt it will be found overnight, but maybe tomorrow, during the day. There's a back knack of things getting found while I'm at work, so I'd say sometime between 8:30am and 5pm.

I hope its found by a coolerhead.

Funny, despite all the talk about things by the beach, this clue actually makes me think the treasure is fairly far north of the railroad tracks.

id3 tag for the clue 10 song states it is "Clue 11 v2". Someone's either making some bad typos, or really screwing up the order.

cute naming on the file, and in a star wars directory? So their idea of hiding the files is to make strange names and put them in separate directories?

Wherever is was hidden was probably just off the main Anderson trail - which at a triple 'score' of 60 paces narrows it down to... just about the whole damn park. I'll be out tomorrow at nightfall. Good luck!

Good night and good luck Coolers. If it holds off, I will see you out tomorrow late afternoonish and into the night.

Oh, hey, I spoke with a Sheriff today regarding parking on the last night. He said he wouldn't ticket but couldn't vouch for the rest of his department. However, he did say he was going to speak with his Superiors about getting a memo out to all officers. He asked me if he they should expect a madhouse.

There are generally two types of municipal sewers:

sanitary -- contains human waste products.

storm -- contains surface run off.

The two are separate systems in most areas. This is done to reduce

the load on the PIG"S EYE Treatment Plant.

The anagram also says: send near Elmer L. and

of course dens near Elmer L.

I'll be out in the early AM if the hunt is still on.

Tell him 350-400 vehicles at 11:00 tomorrow - at least the lake ice is thick enough to park on
Mon, 01/30/2012 - 10:01 PM Permalink

they should expect about 10 madhouses.
