Hi all! I am going to be in Singapore for the first part of the hunt. I know, bad timing! I still plan to be playing along long distance though. My able minds account expires 1/17 while I am gone. I am not sure how to pay up ahead of time. Does anyone know?
At the very top of THe Premium Forums page, where the heading is, there is a place to click to make your payment....I just did one this morning. Paypal is so easy!

I just renewed mine ahead of time by mailing a check for $10 (posting fee for one year) to Mark Richer Able Minds 12 E. Spring St. Alexandria, VA 22301. Indicate your screen name so Mark can update the correct account.

pretty sure treasure island isn't a partner of the hunt contest.
So, what are the odds that they might have hidden the puck this week? Saw a very intresting event occur by chance the other day and found it a bit suspicious. No one is out in this cold just digging around.
Hey guys, thought I would throw my 10cents in here. If the Island IS still a sponsor, then why the hell didn't I get my two for one buffet coupons for the last two years now when I bought a button?! I look for that stupid coupon EVERY year and now they just stopped coupons all together: this thing is becoming a sham I tell ya: A sham! Ok, I'm done now....maybe
Guess I'd better hurry up and buy a button and get it registered this weekend for Pete's sake!!! Whoa this time has been moving by way too fast the past year or soÂ…Â…seems like we were just getting done with last year's hunt -- then doing the Blades girls hockey taco feed, then Emily graduating and then later in the summer moving to Iowa to start schoolÂ…..
And here we are at the beginning of the hunt already??!!
I just am having such a hard time grasping how fast it's all flew by...
I am also making it to the PDG! YA! haven't been since it was at Obbs. I get off of work at 6pm YA! Should be a quick trip from Saint Paul Saloon to Joesph's
Inks was volunteering with our son yesterday at Crosby for an ice fishing event with some families. When things got slow, (no one caught a fish) Inks decided to start medallion hunting.
So I see the action is alive on the old prospero boards and zilch on the newer boards. Getting antsy for this Saturday to come. I see a few folks are running the thought of BVNT being the place this year. I'll cross fingers that really isn't going to be the place to be this year.
I like the Bruce Vento idea, since it's been in the news and all. I am always doubtful of them hiding it in anything called a "nature sanctuary". I realize BV and also Tamarack NS in White Bear township are very wild and undeveloped, but some Nature Sanctuaries are meticulously planted, like the one next to Central Park in Roseville. Hoards of diggers would destroy that place.
I just have to wonder about them setting a precedent for it being in nature sanctuaries. Of course I'm trying to apply logic here and the CW is not always known for that.
I feel the same way and checking that place out last year I can't picture the CW walking in there and hiding the puck with decent references for the clues. It's pretty open and I would hate to see people ruin things. Then again with stadium news and highlights on the park who knows, this CW isn't like others in the past.
Wonder if this will be another year of a "reprise" hunt..ahem cono. So much for hoping to look at tracks in the park this Saturday now that we got a snow dump!
back in 2003 there was a bunch of concern when we were all on harriet island about that same situation because people were hacking away at the "scrubland" so to speak. marley king talked to the city who basically told him they come through in the spring and mow it down anyway. maybe something similar goes on at bvns.
I think BVNS would make a fabulous hunt, but the main reason I doubt they will put it there (at least right now) is the BV part. We all know that if BV comes into play in the clues at all, there will be three camps: Cherokee overlook, trail, and sanctuary. I think they will avoid anything that might get people, however mistakenly, back at Cherokee/lilydale after the tragic accident there last year on the spring school field trip. I know that the odds of something like that happening again, especially in winter, are slim but I just don't think they would want to risk it.
Welcome hunt 2014. Nimrod is in da polar vortex! Greetings! Seems anonymity is overrated as I now see most of your Facebook posts and you've seen pictures of my kids events.
For those of you with which that applies, it's been my priveledge creeping you this past year...
But now, time has come for the business of cipher. Shovels sharpened, little anagram google windows open... Hunt time draws near!
My CC prayer, if I may offer:
Let me find the medallion; and if I don't, let it at least be someone in the Cooler Crew!
Welcome back! I agree on the creeper comment for facebook. I have alot of people who friended me and now I know folks by their real names but I don't know what their handle is on the boards! lol
So, the old PP board has a string about HP. Someone proposed a question about what is happening to the old Ford Plant location and I came across a intresting article about the old mining tunnels beneath the plant that could be of use if ever used in a clue (though it would be obscure). I posted it to the PP board and here is the link below as well.
Thanks!

However they may be having server issues as the pages load really slow. At least for me this morning.

and since people were discussing BVNS yesterday on the old PP board I thought I would also share the link I found yesterday (written in Oct!) and posted there:

While I am not convinced this is the park this year-never say never right. Helpful to at least archive some articles for reference!
