Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Actually it would be a bummer if someone found it this early--when Cathi found it last year on clue 8 people were pretty mad-but with less snow...wow, this could be a record year!
Yeah, i played football at the football field, baseball @ the baseball field. Worked for the county at parks and rec and did grass cutting and all that over there.
Heather... You're getting sick and I gave you that BIG hug? Thanks for nuttin'!!!
Ladi, I don't know what to think. Definately think "highland" is part of the make-up of the park: either has it, doesn't have it, or is the name of the park! But I can't figure out which!
The Pioneer Press and Cub Foods will host three special events for participants in the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt who gather at the newspaper’s downtown St. Paul headquarters to await publication of clues:
“Vulcan Night†– Saturday, Jan. 26: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt heats up with a visit from the Winter Carnival Vulcans. The hunt’s presenting sponsor – Cub Foods – and Hormel, also a Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt sponsor, will participate. KOOL 108 and the station’s KOOL KAT mascot will help host the event and prize drawings.
“Tropical Night†– Sunday, Jan. 27: Colorful leis and Hawaiian shirts will brighten the night in time for an appearance by the Winter Carnival Royal Family. The WLOL party van will pull up to help host the event and prize giveaways.
“Movie Night†– Tuesday, Jan. 29: The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt goes Hollywood with Marcus Theatres and K102. Treasure hunters can watch movie trailers, munch popcorn and win theater tickets, posters and other prizes. K102 will sponsor an appearance by the Rodeo Renegades danceline and a drawing for rodeo tickets.
Time: All events will be held from 11 p.m. until midnight. Events will take place, as scheduled, unless the medallion has been found. Call the Treasure Hunt Hot Line for the current status of the hunt at (651) 228-5547.
Our choices for a St.Paul Park are Marydale, Cherokee, Hidden Falls, Newell, Como, Highland, Phalen and Crosby........according to the St. Paul Parks and Recreation web site.....
I gotta go pick up my husband right now-am supposed to be there NOW-I will already be late-------but will be back later -definately before I go down to the PP (if I go). Me2 is leaving the COOLER!
What does Time and Tide have in common? "High" High Time, High Tide. High Time is another way of saying high noon. Its where the sun is the highest point of the day. High tide is the highest water level. Which means what is the highest point in St Paul? The old Water Tower in Highland Park hidden in a knitted hat.
I didnt mean look for it there, Im just saying the highest point in st paul is the old water tower. And youd want to stay away from the sledding hill because that is on the golf course. It all makes sense...wouldnt you all agree?
I'm with you, Rush. I'm so tired and CONFUSED. I get so damn frustrated... I put blinders on my mind so that I keep it not only open, but so that I don't over noodle the clues.
But, I can see ssssssooooo much in ANYTHING!!!! IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! These ideas just keep popping into my head!
Like... You know there's a Pearl Street, don't you? And there's a park by it, tho now I can't remember which one.
"Purl" is the opposite of knit...
Ladi, yes The Cooler is the place to share info, discuss the clues, noodle together, talk about The Hunt. However, no one has to give up their secrets if they don't want to. Some of us do, some don't. Ya just gotta go with the flow.
Rushmore- I think that part of Battle Creek is located in Maplewood??? Not positive though......I'm not sure of the boundaries. If you go to the website: www.ci.stpaul.mn.us/depts/parks/userguide/maps.html
I think they may have had quite a bit of flexibility with the clues, especially like the wording of the first one...theres snow, its cold, winters FINALLY here... That small fact only occurred very recently. Perhaps the medallion is hidden extra well, very well cloaked to blend into the surroundings.
Rob - you have some valid points. YOur thoughts make sense. The only thing holding me back is that it seems like that is a lot of info (possibly too much) to have out by the third clue.

See I just dont think that. I think it is totally unfair to the people that share their info on here. I also think it is a bad business decision. You could have info I want and I could have info you want.
Rushmore....it is also a very large park. If I recall last year they gave the park up on the 4th clue. Now that we have a dumbass for a clue writer why not give it away on the 3rd. Highland is much bigger than you actually think. It says to stay away from the sliding hill. Well that of course is on the golf course. It all makes sense!
Rushmore- I'm not excluding it I guess I'm just thinking of the first clue where they say it is in a park in St. Paul. I checked out past clues and some say that is located in Ramsey county so that gives you a wide range of parks......just noodling I guess..
Actually it would be a bummer if someone found it this early--when Cathi found it last year on clue 8 people were pretty mad-but with less snow...wow, this could be a record year!
But, yeah, I really just want to get over to the highest part of the southern end of the park--
are you familiar with it?
yeah, and i hear that the temp is gonna go up, and we might be losing the snow that we do have.
and I think there are about 2-3 clues hidden in each clue-so tech. this could be clue #9
Yeah, i played football at the football field, baseball @ the baseball field. Worked for the county at parks and rec and did grass cutting and all that over there.
They are probably covering there butts just in case we didn't have snow this year Me2......
so yoooooou are the one who hid it, eh? hahaha
Heather... You're getting sick and I gave you that BIG hug? Thanks for nuttin'!!!

Yeah, my buddy Teddy brought that 2nd park up to me on the 2nd clue.
joe
OH!
(slapping self in forehead...)
I would'a thought you'd have natural immunity, being married to PWM.
Get him to put a sythe (sp?) type handle on that puppy. You know what I mean???
Well, Usual, a crest = brow. As in the crest of a hill could be called the brow o'the hill.
Hey Green
I'm still thinking it is too early to narrow down any park right now.
He's gonna hop on here in a few mins. He wants to talk about the 2nd park we brought up.
Our choices for a St.Paul Park are Marydale, Cherokee, Hidden Falls, Newell, Como, Highland, Phalen and Crosby........according to the St. Paul Parks and Recreation web site.....
What park are you guys talking about? This is the cooler. This is a place to give info not hide it. It goes against tradition.
Yeah, i heard that green. Thats why it's kinda up there on my list.
I did some scouting this afternoon....of the track Checked out Linwood....Palace...Monroe Memorial...Kellogg...Mears. Nothing seemed promising.
Did someone say 2nd park? I thought I heard it from the peanut gallery so I came a runnin'
I don't know if I should be shocked, or laugh myself to death!
The Brown just told me, "Well, I'm going out looking for It tommorrow, depending upon tonight's Clue."
I don't think I could keep a straight face, or a silent voice!, behind the camera if I'd run across my own fiance out digging for The Med!!!
I gotta go pick up my husband right now-am supposed to be there NOW-I will already be late-------but will be back later -definately before I go down to the PP (if I go). Me2 is leaving the COOLER!
CiCi you need to add about 20 more parks to that. You forgot about the little parks like linwood and palace and hillcrest and so on
Is HunterBob Still Online...
All for nothing...bye Me2...we shall talk later
ROB-Aren't those smaller parks? I'm thinking they are going to put it at a big park because of the snow situation?!?!
Anybody need a hunting pardner'???
CiCi, why did you exclude Battle Creek from your list?
Well I believe that too, but they could hide it in a log or such hence the "trip over the prize" clue.
CiCi-what do you think of this?
What does Time and Tide have in common? "High" High Time, High Tide. High Time is another way of saying high noon. Its where the sun is the highest point of the day.
