where does everyone think it will be this year?

Hi all....We did a little scoping at Highland today. Doesn't seem to be as *right* as Phalen. It has only been a few years since it was hid in Highland. While there is *some* parking at Highland, there's not nearly the availability that there is at Phalen. Phalen has FIVE plowed parking lots, ready and waiting. Hummmmm.

It's started again- the urge to go stand in line and wait for the paper. This internet stuff is great, but I think it's more fun to stand in line, freeze and talk to all the crazys in line.

Hay, Mom! Hay, Kevin!

I'll die laughing if ittiz at Phalen - because o'the tree cutting! What? We just start following Parks & Maintenance around to find where trees are being cut early in the year???

I was up until 5:00 a.m. noodling the First Clue... SHEESH!!! I've got it BAD!!! But this izz good! <g> I'm starting to fade don't know if I can stay awake until 11:30 p.m.! And if I *do*, then I just know I'll never get to sleep once the Second Clue comes out as I won't quit worrying it like a dog with a bone!

What do you guys make of there being two stanzas this year? Last year the first clue only had one and simply told us a park in St. Paul...

Fever, it's not that cold this year!!!!!!

Hay, Fever!!!

What the crazies here aren't good enuff!!! ROFLOL!!!

I'm to old and lazy to stand in the cold... Tho, ittiz such a romantic, long-standing (ah, no pun intended!!!) tradition. I think I'm going to have to do it at least once - just for the thrill and tradition - the *traditional* way of getting the clues.

Hay, Ray!

Fever, like usually, how many people are down there? Do you see folks you recognise from past years? Do they let you in, or do they come out and hand out the paper???

I do think I'm going to have to try this! Just to see what ittiz like!!! Sounds like it mite actually bee fun!

2 stanzas theory- Wanted to get the golf course clue out of the way early. Or to just throw us off for a while. Phalen?? Located in Maplewood!! I won't be going. Rumor has it that maplewood asked that hunt not return to city due to damage in the past.

Mr. Green,

Once in the history of the hunt there were 2 treasures hidden and found. $10,000/2=way more than the average take. Maybe 2 parks work this year. Remember the "Mounders last year"

There seems to be a huge misunderstanding of where Phalen Park is located. Phalen Park proper is within the city limits of St. Paul Ittiz only the one side of the lake that creeps into Maplewood. The park is a City of St. Paul park.

I'm usally in line early (1st 5 most years). I do notice a few nuts from years past. (No they don't let you in until papers arrive @ 11:00.)

The southern 2/3 of Phalen is in St. Paul. It is a fact and it is on the maps.

HA HA! I can't wait. I'm practically impossible to live with during this time of the year because I'm completely obsessed with finding the medallion. Obviously, I have found the right place! And if no ones looked yet the Coolercrew web site is awesome! Lots and lots of great information. I was able to find maps online too roadmaps.lycos.com but I think I read somewhere back aways that Treasure had a good website for maps on line too.

Oh well, just wanted to add my two cents of glee!

WOO HOO

Your math is getting better Green... 2 times twice equals 4!!!!!

It is easy to talk about nothing when we are waiting for the next clue, but, that could be when a crazy idea or what ever may trip the trigger.

Ali, I'm totally worthless this time o'year!!! Cannot, I just cannot, think of anything but that blue puck out in the snow! I can't work, I can't eat, I can't sleep... Just noodle, ponder, stratigize...

Glad to see I'm not the only person that's difficult to live with late in January each year!!!

Agreed, 'Hound.

Have any of the folks that live near Phalen/Highland posted yet??? Last year those that lived just off/near Chair-O-Key were the biggest help! Particularly Reid and Cheryl. They should be posting in here soon... They're big Diggers!

Look at the differentials between the last 2 hiding places as it pertains to the last time it was hidden there and follow that to the declining number and you may have the park it is in this year. More to follow depending on the response that follows.

I was scouting all day, heres what i found. mears has nothing to be easily destroyed as opposed to other downtown parks. langford has tire tracks across it like cherokee did last year. i admit i dug up a good portion of the tracks, but their still their. other parks,, nothing. and the energy park movie studios is what i was thinking with "scene".
