Does anyone know if CBS is going to re-aire the 9-11 special? I was trying to get my daughter to sleep and didn't get to see it but everyone says it was quite dramatic Anyone know ?

Sorry for the double post JT. I don't know what happened there ? That is a very kind offer. I might just take you up on it since everyone that viewed it seems to be quite moved or enthralled by it. I asked my wife why she didn't hit the record button and I got an "I don't know". I understand that there were 2 hours of footage that was not shown due to being edited for sensitivity and concern for victims families. I don't know that I would want to see it.

Yes and the Democrats would never do it either right ?. I don't think that anyone would deny that those kinds of things go on with both parties. It's distasteful to say the least. But all of that is only possible if the person they aree going after gives them enough rope to hang themselves with.

Why do you think Reps went after Clinton? Clinton was going after them. Remember the FBI files?

Distasteful, but sometimes necessary. It's probably kept some real creeps from getting into office.

I've said it a few times: I think politics is cleaner now than it's ever been. Maybe good oppo deserves some of the credit.

Getting back on topic of reflecting on 9-11. I posted something on the other (politics thread) About what some critics or whiners are calling patriotitis or being too overt with displays of patriotism. Frankly I am tried of people telling me what I should or shouldn't do. I am so tired of the p.c thought police I could wretch. If I'm displaying a flag on my vehicle or at home offends you, tough, it's America. You may dislike it and that is your right, fine. But before you become so concerned about me you might want to take a look around and see how many things you do are annoying or offensive. But if you have nothing better than to piss and moan about people displaying pride in their country I suggest you take up a hobby. I proudly served my country, I have traveled all over and been a guest in many countries. I can tell you bar none that there is no place better and I defy you to name one. So we shouldn't be proud of that ? We shouldn't be allowed to show that pride ? You question why now the display ? Look around, people are finally seeing what is at stake and what we have. You also question if it's heartfelt or simply the "in" thing to do. Probably a bit of both but who are you to question what is in someones heart.

Personally I have had an American flag on my vehicles for as long as I can remember. I have flown my flag almost everyday for the last 8 years at my home. Every morning I raise it and every night I take it down. Everyday I think of the people I fought with. The ones who never came home who will never have the luxury of bemaoning someone showing the flag. I think of all those before me and more than likeley after me who sacrificed and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in fighting to keep those rights. I think about all the boys covered under that flag and their wives and children being given that flag as they say goodbye at the funerals. I knew some of them well. I think about it everyday. To this day I still get goose bumps and the chills when I think of those people and what they did. To me that's what it's about. Sound corny? I don't care. To those who have found an awakened desire to do so don't be afraid to display your pride, I say welcome aboard. Don't let the cynics and thought police bother you. They always have and always will be here ignore them, they have nothing better to do.

Something went haywire in this country when people began to snicker at any show of patriotism. I believe that's why so many on the left despise Ronald Reagan. They're leftover hippies who can't move on.

J.T., I haven't spent a lot of time learning the details of Iran Contra, but I remember thinking at the time that it was a legal violation ONLY because Congress had passed a law that covered a specific period of time, which to me is no way to practice law.
