j/k i understand. as far as saying anything, that's what we have the coolercrewmoderator account for. i don't wanna say anything as myself either, largely for similar reasons. not slanderous stuff, just that he'd think it was a vendetta on my part.

oh and kitch, as far as moderating goes, we didn't have to babysit last year, and hopefully we won't have to this year beyond this. this thread has been dead for a damn long time. personally, i can't see the time commitment.
I haven't said anything yet but I lost my job on Monday. I haven't been totally unemployed since before I was 18 years old. :confused:
It just goes to show you that you can work your way right out of a job once you become 'too' valuable. I just cost them too much I guess so somebody had to be the hit.
Anyway, I see myself having some time to deal with this shit on the boards since I don't plan on even looking for another job until after the hunt anyway. One nice positive.
Jake is just hurt since he just discovered the Invitational thread of PF from years ago where he apparently wasn't invited and is looking at everything through the keyhole. Which always increases sensitivity.
Personally the nutsack thing doesn't bother me. What rule does that break? Maybe the phishing rule? But it does bother me about the dirty laundry. There's a no mod thread where he can go if he doesn't want things moderated. The moderator should edit the post and let him know. I'll deal with the welcome thread since we don't need that stuff 'welcoming' anyone into our little world.

1. I said nothing in that post that isn't true (to my knowledge).
2. As this is not a free service, it is illegal for you to ban anyone who has paid or is willing to pay.
3. I find it absolutely amazing that some are given scrutiny while others are not. In reading the past forums, I was called an alcoholic (not true) a compulsive gambler (not true), and no one was banned for that. Yet I make statements, that are to the best of my knowledge 100% true, and you are all over my case. I hear some of you were using the word "defamation", maybe you should learn what that means before you use the word. (If you say something that's true, it isn't defamation) I seem to remember that Ares thinks he knows quite a bit about law, ask him.
4. Did anyone say a word to Kitch about his rant the other day? Didn't think so.
5. As a group, you guys really need to think about what you do and how you act. You wonder why some people can't stand the group as a whole?
6. When the Cooler Crew took credit as "one of their own" finding the medallion, I didn't say a word, NOT A SINGLE WORD. So before you go around acting like a bunch of dictators to your poster boy, you should look at how other members of the group are acting. And one more thing, if anyone wants to discuss this with me, post it where everyone can see it, I will respond to all PM's here in a public place where everyone can read it.
1) you know for a fact that aw doesn't have some nutsack? the truth defence to defamaion goes away on that one
2) no one is talking about banning you from ableminds. incidentally that's the service you pay for, not the cooler crew refugee camp.

thanks for letting me vent. although ironically, when i put my moderator hat back on, i can't say that moderator ares would say much different. we as a group have decided that there will be standards of behavior here, and anyone who doesn't follow those standards is not welcome.

I honestly was a little upset the nite of the predig. We as a group disrespected a bunch of hard core coolers. I mean the music was to louc, littleman's swearing on the mic, etc...I could go on but not worth the time at this hour...or week.
Maybe just a reminder of that when we see it happening would keep it down.
Kitch, being you brought the PDG up, I will just say this. I wasn't offended by anything. I don't get offended easily and I tend not to want to say too much about swearing and noise at a bar setting as I realize I'm not so young anymore and it would come off like some old prude putting on Elizabethan airs. :smile:
I appreciate that Lilman is willing to do the DJ gig for tips.
Inks and I went upstairs to get something to eat, Allison came in and joined us before going downstairs and soon we had Mucky, Kitch, Ian and Greg Sax join us for a bit so we ended up staying upstairs longer than I had first thought. What I truly enjoyed about that is that we could have conversation and actually hear each other.
When we did go downstairs and Lilman was asking everyone to be quiet and started swearing, I thought for the purpose of his announcement, the swearing was out of place.
Then the music started up again and the opportunity to actually have conversation was gone. Inks tends to get headaches with loud music and for me, the fun of getting together is to actually be with everyone and catch up with folks we haven't seen in awhile.
There were people in attendance that I didn't know and had there been the opportunity to meet and greet and be able to hear what they said, I would have.
I enjoy music, but I also enjoy talking with people I know and meeting new folks. It's the latter I realize has the greater appeal for me and I miss that. I wonder if others do as well.
Our PDG used to be about the people gathering.
I wonder if anyone would be offended if there is to be music, if that would start later.
And we need to find a better location for this event.
Took them just short of 12 hours.
I am not going to do it tonight I need to get thoughts straight and maybe consider a replacement for myself....
I am sorry but the same topic comes up time and time again....and i honestly don't care...not a big deal...its time for me to move on i believe
But if you believe you need to go, you have to do what's right for you.

Rob spoke with PP this morning and they just want to let it die out...I guess they have had a few hundred calls from people who want to sue the paper because of alleged cheating!!!! The problem with sour grapes is that in today's anonymity on the internet, people think they can and do say anything they have an itching to say.
There are always those who have something negative to say. I've seen some hateful comments about the Cooler Crew over there as well, but that's there problem. We know who we are and what we're about.
Those who wanted to look at what was on the PP boards, they can do so. No sense bringing any of that here.
Then from what I gathered, Jake called in and told them it was found. Later the PP called him, I think to let them know when the press conference time would be. The fact that others knew he had been called by the PP made it seem as though there was some conspiracy. I think most of them didn't realize he had called them first and so the assumption is that it was the first call.
Even the old PP board had some unpleasant remarks made regarding Jake and Rob finding it again.
Sour grapes. Nothing we can do about it.
Marcia was talking about it at Gabes after the RHB and I asked her to send me some snipits of that crap that they're peddling over at the PP boards.
Unfortunately, I think Marcia just managed to keep the pot stirred by giving any credence to the fools by responding.
wrong. nothing we can do about it there. but, as was evidenced by the fact that we had people show up at the rehash who were pissed at the bullshit on the pp boards and consequently paid up accounts here in ableminds land, all we have to do is be good ambassadors for ourselves.
sue and i were talking about the pp boards the other day. i hang around and promote am before the hunt but once the hunt actually starts i disappear just because of all the middle school-esque drama that goes on there, completely unchecked.
There are always the comments about the Cooler Crew being a bit clicky, but by making people welcome and comfortable with the Crew, we can change some of that negativity.
But there will always be those that use the internet to bash whatever is good.
