I always thought it was weird as well. I vote change it and we can let the CCM address the board in the CoC thread if it comes up. We haven't been refugees for quite awhile now. This place has been home since the day the welcome mat was laid out for us.

i'd like to keep it in the same sort order so Cooler Crew Discussion Boards seems rather appropriate

Looks like hunter Tim was the first to notice the name change. Very perceptive since I only use the Read New button myself.

This forum expires in about a month as does my yearly dues. I will glady pay the forum costs this year. I'm assuming no one else has done so yet. Let me know and I'll get that paid tomorrow some time.

I hate to ask, but will anyways. Mark and Tim haven't activated two long time CC members that I know have paid and I emailed Mark about already...and offered to pay if they hadn't.

I have added them both. From the emails I have been getting now from Ittiz Eye, they both paid.

Paying for the CC Forum folder and possibly comping the CC Welcome thread. We really only use the welcome thread for those new to AM.

How can people get in here?

I changed the access list for guests in the welcome thread and still can't view it when logged out since it's under this restricted main folder. I'm thinking we're gonna need to put that folder back out in the main AM area for others to see.

It's linked direct from the cooler crew site. Try the link from there.

If we are going to have it, it should work from anywhere.

We can make it work from anywhere. It'll just take some work to create access lists for all the top level stuff here.

On the other hand, what are we protecting from prying eyes? Our noodling? We could leave everything open except the two hunting folders.

We are keeping the riff raff out.

Seeing as how You have to pay to post, that explicitly keeps the riff raff out.Keeping it to paid members ensures that the riff raff can't steal our noodles. Everything else, who cares if they can read it?

I personally don't need another outside troll stealing a picture from here or anything else from ending up anywhere else. Nobody needs access to any of our boards. Its not just hunt stuff that needs protection IMHO.

fair enough. that's the sort of answer i was hoping to get. :smile: if we don't want to create individual access lists for everything, then the only solution is to move it back to the level it was originally at.

My account, King Boreas, is expired, but I can see all Cooler Crew threads. I plan to renew it soon, but I thought it was odd I could still access those threads?

my theory is that he's still in the paid accounts group.

I think moving it out is a good idea. I logged in as a guest and couldn't see it. I think, ares, you have it set at coolercrew.com, but if you log in as guest, you can't see the Cooler Crew Forum, so you can't get to that folder.

And we sure don't need anyone else getting hold of things they shouldn't be getting hold of...that Luverne on the PP boards is a prime example. Where did she find that photo anyway?

probably. and realistically that's not something we can prevent, but i definitely see your point overall about keeping everything locked down.

So I assume you are talking about the "Welcome Home Medallion Hunters" folder? If you want to move that out to the members area as a separate folder we can do that and I'll comp it.

And since I have you here I was wondering if you might be able to donate a membership or two to give away at our annual ReHashBash this upcoming Sunday. I plan on giving one away myself and will let you know who it's for after Sunday. Just thought I'd throw it out there if you might want to match me or whatever.

Thanks again for all you and Tim do for us. Now that the hunt is over and there are a number of subscriptions coming due, there have been a few people who raised the question if you guys are planning on keeping the forum up and running. I didn't see any reason why you wouldn't but thought I'd pose the question anyway to ease their minds.

Hey guys - Did you know that anyone who ever had a membership here can see everything that's posted even if it's blocked from from non-paying members?

Even expired accounts that had host access at one time still have host access. Think about that. I went in as the CCM to see what me2 was talking about in the CC Cachers thread and noticed that I had access to everything even though the account was expired. Has this issue even been addressed with Mark or Tim before? Being that our content is supposed to be private it's a real issue that anyone who ever paid still has access long after their initial subscription has run out. They just can't post is all.
