Would they not even come and look at the room with you?
And what do they think would be the point of you doing that to the room and then asking for your money back 30 minutes later?
Would be different if some slimeball (which I know they can tell you are NOT one, if they even know how to discern a slimeball) used the room over night, then complained.
But I suppose they thought you had a 30-minute drinking and sex session in there.
Sounds like you've stayed there before. There should be records that you've always left the place in OK shape.
So why would your behavior change now, and so drastically?
And I think you can prove you were visiting Grandma for those 30 minutes, but will suck to have to file in small claims court so far away from home, if it comes to that.
No, I don't believe the bear made the mess either - that's my point. He's stayed there before and was probably a model guest (seems by an earlier post that this is true) and so why would he now be in there trashing the place? It was more of a "stands to reason" defense question.
What is that website that you can track accidents with?
I saw an awful accident last night on 94 & 494 - 4 ambulances, 3 firetrucks, 20 police cars, 10 police trucks. Car rolled over, lots of sand on road when I passed by later. Would like to check it out but therer are no leads online.
Incident Locale: WB 94 I AT 494 Incident Date/Time: 5/22/2008 10:26:00 PM
Nbr. of Vehicles: 3 Incident Type: FATAL
Incident Desc: VEH 1 WB ON 94 IN LEFT LANE AND DRIFTED OFF ROADWAY, VEH 1 STRUCK CENTER MEDIAN DIVIDER, OVERTURNED, CAME TO REST IN LEFT LANE, VEH 1 WAS STRUCK BY VEH 2, VEH 1 WAS STRUCK AGAIN BY VEH 3.
Wow. Thanks for the info. It didn't look good. I have never seen that many responders at a site before. Super sad to pass over the accident site and see all that sand!
The CCFL bulb that is used to backlight the LCD screen appears to be out on one side. I can still use it (obviously) but the brightness and contrast control is almost completely gone.
I didn't get any 'warning' signs - no flickering or change of color - turned it on yesterday and had a dim screen. It seems like a simple enough repair, but I don't know If I can find parts. warranty was over a long time ago - I got it Christmas 2004.
here's a couple links I found - see what you think...
My LCD Monitor is Liquid Video Model E19LCD1 (19")
been there done that. the speakers are pathetic, but the screen in great - i had to turn the contrast down it was so darn bright when I first hooked it up.
When applying for a marriage license on-line in Dakota County, and if you have proof of premarital education, how do you demonstrate that to get the discount?
Ter-ree - stop talking like that. Next thing you're gonna say is that you got your Driver's License out of the Montgomery Ward's Catalog.
My Grandma did that - cost $1.39.
You know all that paperless computer information costs a heckuva lot more that the paper permit you got way back when....
I don't get that - your entire life's worth of information can be stored without paper on a magnetic strip the size of the head of a pin, and they still charge you about as much as having it bulk mailed to half the city.
I used to think I was redundant, now I know I'm just redundant.
No. I got my driver's license when I was 18 after I had been driving for about a year with no license or permit and no insurance. I am soooooo lucky that nothing happened.
CM - You wish you had my first car. I actually wish I had my first car. It was a 58 Chev and I loved it. Paid $100 for it.
It was during the Vietnam War so all the guys we knew had been drafted or enlisted to avoid the draft - or went to Canada. All the girls would hang out and because my car was so roomy, we often tooled around town in it.
It had a hole in the floor board just the right size for empty beer cans. :sheepish:
one more question...i got this email today is it true??
REMINDER....all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies today and you will start to receive sale calls. ...YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222 it is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.. HELP OTHER S BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. It takes about 20 seconds.
I called the "888" number not from a cell phone but from a land line already blocked, fearing the very activation on some phone list I would be trying to prevent. Turns out it's the legitimate do-not-call sign-up number provided by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
That surprised me. I really expected this to be a come-on. It isn't. And the facts about how to activate a cell-phone number are correct. But the "fact" that you have to in the first place is wholly incorrect; there is still no need to sign up your cell phone.
Apparently there have been several similar email campaigns, some probably less wholesome than this. I searched "cell phone do not call" on Google and came up with a right-on-target FTC memo dated February 2006. Upshot: cell phones are still immune from telemarketers. If interested, here are the facts straight from the memo:
*
Contrary to the email, cell-phone numbers are not being released to telemarketers, and you will not soon be getting telemarketing calls on your cell phone.
    *
There is no deadline by which you must register your cell-phone number.
    *
Federal Communications Commission regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell-phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent.
    *
The national associations representing telemarketers have stated that their clients do not intend to start calling consumers' cell phones.
    *
There is only one Do Not Call Registry. There is no separate registry for cell phones.
If I had it to do over, I'd probably stay doubly safe and check the FTC site first before calling the number.
Becoming FTC-wise
Just out of curiosity, I browsed the FTC site, specifically the "consumer information" portion. Like many Federal government sites, this site is becoming easier to read, easier to use and more relevant. Have a look.
I was surprised at the range of topics -- from credit rights to ID theft, as you might suspect, into newer territory like diet and weight-loss programs, energy-savings programs and even indoor tanning. Short, crisp articles explain your rights and what to watch out for in each area.
If you get a message touting something you don't quite trust -- by phone, by friend or by email -- a 15-minute FTC check is a darned good idea.
Meanwhile, I'd like someone to explain why someone would send such email misinformation in the first place.
City officials are investigating why the outdoor warning sirens went off in St. Paul this morning.
Just before 9 a.m., there was an "inadvertent activation" of the sirens during routine maintenance, according to Rick Larkin, the city's emergency management director. He called it a very rare occurrence.
"We apologize for the confusion," Larkin said.
Although the Twin Cities is expecting severe weather later today, there were no weather warnings or watches in effect at the time, according to the National Weather Service.
The city of St. Paul has 38 sirens, but Larkin was unsure how many went off this morning.
The warning sirens are designed to warn people who are outside that they should seek shelter immediately, Larkin said. They should then tune into their NOAA weather radio or local media outlets for details.
NOAA weather radios are available at electronics stores, Cub and Rainbow stores.
Larkin also reminds people that there is no "all-clear" sire
I knew it was weird, right away too.... cause it wasnt the ones that stay on for a long period of time.... it would go for like 30 seconds.... then do it again...
I agree with Paul Douglas on this statement "sirens alerts are only as effective to people who want to pay attention".
After the Hugo Tornado, people complained that they had little or no warning.
Upon investigation - the Sirens did go off but they only stay on for so long... People who were outside said the weather was nice went they went off so when they stopped they continued with their day, but within 10 mins of them stopping, the storm hit.
Sirens are meant to alert people who are outside to get indoors and tune it to find out what is happening.
Incidentally, back when I was touring for a possible postion at a radio repair shop for the st. paul police, I saw ramsey county's civil defense sirens control room. The stuff in there is pretty old. It might have just been a shorted wire....
I guess you could get even...
go in his restrauntee...order about 200 bucks worth and walk out b4 the food comes.
And what do they think would be the point of you doing that to the room and then asking for your money back 30 minutes later?

Two words - Impending Marriage
And I don't believe bear made the mess being that he would have already been complaining about the mess 3 minutes later if he did it. :ooh:
I only had the room for a half hour...
no this is not my wife yet...
well...I stayed at another hotel ..not my grannys.
all i know is you better have a judge that is in denial.
Whatever happened to the Avatar / Tagline Hall of Fame?
No has updated it since February.
