We had an interesting sermon in church sunday too. Someone broke in the church Thursday and stole a bunch of stuff, so the pastor mentioned it reminded him of the Grinch.
I used that list to make a route on my gps and we followed it last night. Some really nice houses down by 55th st. We went to most of the ones listed between hwy 52 and 35E to the south and ended at Jason and Sues house. Was a nice drive.
Since you seem to be a proponant of subscribing to threads and I don't know anything about itm what happens when I hit the subscribe button? Do my threads become unthreaded when I read them? How exactly does it make my posting experience better here?
Subscriptions are a way to find new messages quickly. You can track just the discussions and folders you're intereted in following. To subscribe to a folder or discussion, click the "Subscribe" button in the toolbar toward the bottom of the discussion or folder you wish to subscribe to. You can
* check for new material by visiting the website and clicking the "Check Messages" button
If you've chosen "Check Messages," just click the "Check Messages" button when you return. You'll be taken immediately to just the new material since you were here last. If there are a large number of posts in the discussions you've subscribed to and you don't wish to read them all, you can "mark them as read" in the Preferences area. Subscriptions are available only to registered users. To unsubscribe from web checking, use the "Change Subscriptions" button.
Its a lot easier than clicking through all the folders. You should do it IMO.
If you only want to see msgs from the Cooler Crew folder go to the top folder (Cooler Crew Refugee Camp) and suscribe to that one. It will suscribe you to all the cooler crew. Or if you just want the hunt thread, just suscribe to that one. You can change the subscriptions at any time and add or subtract stuff as you want. You might wanna suscribe to my thread as well (or maybe not)
OK but what I want to know is How is it easier? Do all the threads open as one and in essance become unthreaded? Or do they still remain in their folders but the subscribe thingy puts only the threads with new posts in it?
No. The messages all look the same as they do now. (all in folders) It's easier because you dont have to look for the new messages. When you hit "read new" it automatically brings you to the messages in the folder. They arn't "unthreaded". They'll look the same as they do now for you.
Kitch, how come I can't bookmark anything? I used to be able to........um, is there a limit to how much you can bookmark? If so, that could possibly be the problem. Please help... :pbpt:
of course I need them all...I'm a packrat! I have bookmarks dating back to 2005...I finally found them and there were some new ones among them so hopefully I'm good to go (or bookmark)! BTW, I just now have added subscriptions to read new content...do I have to add every thread within the main threads of the refugee camp, or just the main ones and all of the sub-threads will be included? If I have to add every single thread, well that's more subscriptions than my bookmarks! :pbpt:
Try going into your preferences and making sure there a check mark to enable /use the message center. That setting got messed up a while back when they did a reboot or maint of the system.
Preferences > Enable special user functions > Message Center
Make sure theres a check mark there. If not check it. If still dont work go back to same spot and click "install" button to install the message center.
Why does this forum sometimes not link to the replied thread? I see it happens to you as well.
Thanks!

Either this function is not enabled at this location, or you don't have permission to use it.
rule of thumb..if you haven't used it in a year...u don't need it
Preferences > Enable special user functions > Message Center
Make sure theres a check mark there. If not check it. If still dont work go back to same spot and click "install" button to install the message center.
thanks for finding that!
