absynthe and chartruse are very different if you get the stuff that is made in Europe. The stuff here isn't the same, or as good.

You can thank the people who came to america and took grapes back to france for almost wiping out the industry there.

They brought back root stock that had philoxeria (sp) and well, I think they still haven't forgiven us for that one.

OK, me2 - we'll be there when you get there - looking forward to it!

Shameless Post:

Looking for some good family fun or a cheap night out?

Ramsey County Fair, July 11 - 15, 2007 - Located off White Bear ave next to Aldrich arena.

I personally have been working hard to keep the county fair alive and well by finding good entertainment to draw in people.

Please check out our website: www.ramseycountyfair.com for all the details (or you can ask me)!

(next year I will be working on the website...)

I hope to see some Cooler Crew out there this year!

You need to check the boards more often Ian.

Eags - It was wonderful to see you again. You're looking good and the t-shirt was simply you.

Great seeing everyone else that came too...Mom, Dad, Emily, Hannah and Natalie, Becksie, Me2 and her daughter, Nick and Caroline, Green, Paul, MJ and daughter and her boyfriend. And who should Mom run into?!?!? Lucy who makes the Cooler Crew commemorative buttons for us each year!

And it turns out that Eags' sister lives across the street from Becksie!

And Nick lives across the alley from where my grandparents lived and where we lived for a time when we were wee little.

Such a small world.

And me2's daughter's friend lives in the house I lived in the first three or four years of my life - another small world connection!

It was great seeing everyone who could be there. I know it was short notice!

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it ... Dad

To Kitch:

Thanks for finding my fathers contact info for me a few months ago.

I haven't spoken to my father for seven years and haven't seen him since 1993.

I just spoke to him tonight for the first time since then. It was a fast conversation as I only wanted to tell him Happy Fathers day and leave the moment for a bit of reflection on how things can be fixed.

Steph has been working hard talking with him over the past few weeks to feel out where things were with him. He's a changed person from who he was.

A Man who was drunk and angry for his entire adult like has been sober for 5 years after finally hitting rock bottom. At age 58 some might say thats too late but I don't believe it will be too late for him.

I was able to wish him a happy fathers Day. He was also able to see pictures of my kids for the first time because of your effort.

So Kitch, Thanks.

I don't know where things will go with my dad but I owe you.

I never miss the ramsey county fair... good times... we usually try to go, if anything just to see some music at night - same thing with the Taste.

Phat Pearl is playing on Friday the 13th... it says 7:30-11:30.

reminds me of the cake my sister and I gave my dad once.... it was a small cake but we lined it with jalepeno peppers and LOTS of those candles that don't blow out!!!! I had to throw water on it after laughing so hard and freaked out because the candles didn't go out and started this huge fire ontop of the cake!!!!

Prizes - determines on how many sign up! If we get a full house then the prize will be $200 cash - I don't know what they decided on levels vs people - but it will be all cash baby...

AND because poker will be in the beer tent (which is next to the main stage so you can hear the bands) they will be giving out wrist bands so you can take the beer outside the beautiful orange fence..... Oh forgot to mention, they are also thinking of having a Champions Table on Sunday (inviting winners of each previous night to come back on Sunday).

Being in a job that you can't stand is tough - I know, I have been there.... and when you finally get that opportunity to get out you really want to tell them to go stick it.....but... it's better to be the bigger person and give notice. Once you give notice, the time goes by rather quickly... in the end you will feel better - Trust me (even though you don't know me) I have gone down both paths and being the bigger person is so mch more rewarding than the other - you never know when you may need to cross this bridge again in your lifetime, best not to tear it down....

When do you start the new job?

I suggest this - let them know you found a new job and give them to the end of this week (2 wks is usually a gesture thing - some companies may state you need to give 2 wks to get something, but not many).

By law you are owed pay that you have earned (including vaca that has been accumulated by not taken). If they fire you they have 24hrs - but if you leave they can wait for the normal pay period -

When you give notice to the end of the week ask for your pay to be ready on your last day - they may surprise you and say OK.

I told the new job I wanted to give 2weeks but I dont think I can do another 2weeks! it would be good for my head to get set if I had a few days to get in to the fact that my meds are going to go out of wack because they have me on a dosethat keepsme happy with the over nights!!!!!!!!!
