I could care less about you getting together with your friends Dan... it is just that the breakfast club started out as a subculture of this place whose sole purpose was to bash others and gossip about the goings on in here... I guess that makes it a little suspect and not quite as inocuous as a "club of friends" and I know you have assured me that such behavior no longer is tolerated... excuse me for wondering if that truly is the truth after all as some of you have so aptly pointed out I can be a "twit" When Nick exposed the "breakfast club" at a party at our house it was unreal how many hateful things were said on a very personal level... and Big G was right when she said some wounds never really heel. So pardon those of us who had our names smeared, our marriages sneered at and an all out campaign launched to smear our reputations.... if we feel just a teensy bit wary of your little club
OT... outta was around yesterday... her daughter has some big candy bar sale going for a trip... she is probably gonna post it somewhere in here. Anyway she is doing well and happy at work
Sigh... do we need to do this all again? I am way way way too busy to tackle this debate... my daughter has the day off and we are going out to have a mommy daughter day, do lunch and have our nails done.... a much happier and more productive use of time! Have a good day all.
Yep we went to the Melting Pot....it was SO YUMMY!!!! It was a very nice lunch. A lot of food like normal. But it was delicious. I hate it because every day as I walk to my car I pass by that smell and it drives me NUTS!!
Good luck ESD. We're going down there for the weekend to stay and play at that water park in the Holiday Inn next to Cabellas. I'll be sure to put in a good word for you.
"Can you tell me who does your in-store graphics? It's outsourced? Huh. Do you know what's the best ammo for my .44? No? Huh."
"Excuse me Mr. Manager dude - What this place needs is an excellent graphic artist who has worked in an ammo plant."
and its not just indoors that we swim either. we have a new year's celebration on lake minnetonka where people actually jump into the lake on new year's morning. my theory on that is that its mostly poeple who got way too drunk on new years eve, and haven't gotten a hangover yet because they're still drunk.
The cooler crew is different things to different people, but I'm just going to post what it is to me instead of joining in the bickering, or trying to lighten up the conversation with jokes or sarcasm like I normally do.
The cooler crew is a loosely knit group of people that share one thing in common: we love the medallion hunt. 2 times during the year, the entire cooler crew gets together, the pre dig gig, and the re hash bash. Over the years I have seen different things change in the cooler crew, mainly the size expanding to the point that we are going to outgrow McGoverns pretty soon. But the fact that there are subgroups has always been present. I love Terry, she is a source of wisdom, and is the preverbial cooler crew mother figure, but I have never hunted with her. The cooler crew has never been a hunting team, like some people believe, it's everyone for themselves when you get out there, after all we are all trying to do the same thing, and only 1 person can do it. In the past, we have openly shared our best ideas about the clues, sadly this is no longer a reality. Most of the time if someone gets an idea for a clue they keep it to themselves or their close group of hunting partners, I am guilty of this and I would say that a majority of the regulars are too. I don't think that is wrong, it just is what it is, the cooler crew has changed.
To me this forum is a place to have fun, make jokes, argue with JT about silly things. I also post in a private thread dubbed "the breakfast club". That is the group of people that I hunt with, and more often than not we end up having breakfast before during or after our hunt session. The purpose of that thread was never to insult anyone or talk about people behind their backs, it was to make plans of when and where we were going to meet and go hunt, etc... Eventually we started talking in there like we would over email or the phone, it was convenient. That was private conversation that was never meant to be seen by anyone but us, and I'm sorry it was. During the hunt, I rarely have time to post here because I am either out hunting or doing real life things or I am in the bar socializing or I am sleeping.
I stood up for nick not being banned not because I love nick or because I hate jason or elisa, but because I didn't like the principle of banning someone from the cooler crew for something that happened outside of the forum, outside of our control. I stand by that. As people have noted, nick is the one that snitched on the breakfast club, he lost my trust when he did that, but this is not personal, this is about the group.
No matter what happens, I am going to continue to talk with the breakfast club and hunt with them, I hope to see all my cooler crew friends online and also at the bar, and in the parks. I think it is sad that there is such a power struggle going on, after the puck posse incident a few years ago, most regular coolers laughed at their attempt to have a president, vp, organized leadership, thats just not what the cooler is.
Sorry for the long post, and sorry if I upset anyone, that was not my aim. Don't bother trying to start another argument with me, because quite honestly if you want to fight with me, I don't care about you. My friends know who they are, and I know who they are.
Now that you are done with your little speech you are taking your ball and going home Tim? That's ok... maybe next year you can sit at the grown ups table and actually participate in conversation.
You obviously didn't read that part that I am not going to sit here and argue with you two. I don't care about you, I'm not friends with you, I couldn't care less what you think.
I'm not leaving, I'll be here, doing what I do. In January I'll be doing what I do, hunt.
tim, i'm not arguing with you. i just am curious as to what you see as a power struggle. because first off, in order for there to be a struggle, there has to be two parties. and i'm not even seeing one.
Actually this whole conversation gets filed into the "whatever" bin... but my point stands... the bc was formed and people were hurt... and it leaked in here through tag lines and comments... JUST LIKE ELISSA AND NICK. One very much does effect the other. Subcultures weather an off shoot thread or an egram all do effect the cooler as a whole.
to say that this is this and I am not willing to discuss it with you because I don't like you.... I don't need to just listen to that crap without responding to it
We don't have to like each other... but we do have to coexist with some shred of civility.... or what is the point? I am simply making a point that this situation is not that far removed...
they certainly don't get to bitch about the administrativa that's going on right now, do they?
think about it!
speaking of frying fish...its friday...
I need a nap...and I'm outta here till 2nite.
play nice...even if it hurts.
End of discussion.
And I was just starting to feel comfortable in here again. :frown:
p.s. cluemaster, i LOVE henry rollins.
that we still have a thread? That we still talk in it? That is no secret!!!
My plans for melting pot got canceled as it was too late for people who had sitters to have dinner tomorrow :frown:
so I'm stuck going somewhere else.
BUT!!! there is a second location opening on Wed and if all goes well I will be eating there the weekend after.
I'm bummed that we aren't going tomorrow night. sad when the one thing you really look forward to is food - especially sliced apples in melted cheese.

brrrrrrr!
But don't get me started on rink rats and hanging over the boards, standing on top of a snow bank to watch a hockey game. Good times.
I try to avoid water out here past september - although I've fallen in a puddle or two lately.

he was just trying to make a point.
like you for example....
BYE BYE..
going to do some yard work....good day for that CM???
the tiara joke had NOTHING to do with you but that it was funny to us how something so innocent was blown so far out of proportion. that's it.
And you were one of the offenders that used cute little tag lines aimed at me.... that was UNCALLED FOR
that's what she was referring to. something that happened 9 months ago.
I thought we were talking about nick. apparently that went out the window.
