we are going to have a get-together at our house on
Sunday the 4th for

fireworks on the bluff

and much more. We are just a
hop away from the Mighty Mississippi bluffs overlooking beautiful
Harriet Island (perfect for viewing).It's going to be very informal
(Black Tie).I have no clue how many will be able to show so I don't
know how much food and beer to buy,

so all I ask is send me an email,
stop by with something (munchies, hamburger, hot dogs, buns, pop, etc)
to throw into the mix.

We will try and barbeque throughout the day when we're hungary, have a firepit in the backyard, and it's off to see fireworks later in the evening. We'll just play it by ear and my house is your house (so bring your tools-we have sheetrock to put up ;p).

There is a situation with parking so let me know or we can
shuffle cars around once you are there. The city has implemented a
permit parking situation on the bluffs so they don't jam up with cars.
They have sent out two permits per household. My driveway will fit
three cars as well. and we can beat up our neighbor for her permits and driveway. :)

we are building a house in HUGO (help u sget out, i know!!) sold our existing house...living in an apt by mplwd mall (sux)....things have been hectic and busy!!

It's finally quiet again.... yawn! All the neighbors were shooting off fireworks last night until after 1am, I had 3 dogs velcroed to me all night long. Poor puppers!!

Baby coming JOE

I was up on the high bridge last night for the fireworks with the roommate. Good view from there with all the boats on the river and all, but from the vantage point I had, the fireworks weren't terribly amazing. Guess they were set up more to be viewed from Harriet Island? Anyways, I might have gotten one or two good pictures, I'll try and post em later.

KC?you didnt even stop over? we watched from Cherokee Park in front of the condos. we had an awsome view! and I have never heard such a busy neighborhood for hours afterwards with booms of fireworks! Some people didn't leave til 3 am! Had a bonfire and played poker for a bit.

Turns out Taiga *(our rottie) always barks at fireworks -she had a bad experience as a pup and got lost in the woods up north for 3 days.Well, she has been in our backyard for 7 years with out injury! She had her first owie... she somehow juped inbetween pots and plants and cut her front left and back left leg -so bad it was a clean SLICE that split wide open so you could see her muscle-like ALOT of her muscle! It didnt cut the muscle-luckly the fur and all of the fat/skin-that is a thick layer though! poor baby. at first we thought she would be fine, but after we got back from the fireworks at the bluff she began to bleed on our carpeting :( ...I called the vet (ofcourse closed -evening, holiday and a Sunday so the odds were not with us) --Mark took her into the emergency pet clinic on University and Western. ...5 hours later, lots of stiches on both CUTS and $622 later...Taiga is passed out in the livingroom right now. 

 

They gave her Morphine -that only cost $2.09 ---it was the anesthesia that ran almost $200!!!

The doctors said that after 5 hours your body tries to heal --so if we would have waited til morning than they would have to of cut it worse to make it a cut again and then stitch it up---so it woulda cost more.

What do you mean by baby coming? like, really coming? like your in labor RIGHT NOW!!!??

Odd, when I was at the hospital, a shot of morphine was a lot more than 2.09, funny how medicines run different at vets than the regular hospitals. Bet it's all the same stuff too.
