dumpster is coming tomorrow :) I found a 15 yard at a different place for the same price as the 10 yard, and we get to keep it for ten days :) clean up starts tomorrow!
gordy got a job offer up north so we are hoping to sell this piece of crap and move north, there is still alot of stuff left from the last guy that lived here plus all the crap that we have brought in over the years so a dumpster was the only way to get rid of it. sorry Me2, nothing historical in my house :) of course you never know, if you wanna help, you can look through it before I throw it away ;)
I bid on a History of St. Paul book at our church Fall Festival on Sunday. I was going to give it to you, me2, if I had won it. But I didn't. :(  I got outbid with one of those last second bids.Â
I know what you mean! I actually started bagging stuff up from the basement on monday and I had to quit cuz I ran out of room to set the full bags on the floor.
LL :( I already go through hunt withdrawls now we gotta go through "LL withdrawls" :(
Â
OT-thanks so much for thinking of me - unfortunately St Paul happens to be a hot commodity :( - I hate it when I like what so many others like-and on top of it all they usually have more money to spend on items than I do :(
Â
wheres ESD and Digger? ---every second they arnt on here now, every hour they dont post at least a "We're still here" ---I wonder where they are...Its like being parents or something...keep looking at my watch waiting for the kid to get home!
me2....I know the guy who out-bid me and he said he'd let me read it first and then I could give it back to him. I told him, "It wasn't for me!". So he said he'd sell it to me for $50! Nice guy, huh?
I didn't study it that well. But the donor put a value of $50 on it. It was pretty current from what I could tell by the pictures though. I have a good friend who is married to an urban geograper who concentrates on the neighborhoods of St. Paul. He teaches at Mac, and has authored and co-authored several books. His name is David Lanegran. Do you know him?
Oh, and I found out from the news that Elizabeth Edwards was at Lincoln Center in SSP today reading stories to the children. She sure snuck in and out of town quietly. I was out running errands today and didn't notice any activity. Even drove past Lincoln at one point and all looked normal.Â
LL- Cool beans about the job offer and the move. Lake shore property is usually high buck and the taxes will kill ya. Nice if you can afford it, but it is more expensive.
And you can still get here to hunt. We have a friend from up further north than you'll be and he comes down every year. Other friends are about 45 minutes out of the cities and they drive down too.
well I tried sleeping a little bit... got about 1 1/2 hrs in... now i've got that huge burst of energy again and can't keep still. UGH! Maybe i'll go clean some more of ESD's art studio... that's what I did this past weekend when I had this energy burst. I sure wish she would come already!!!
Looks Like the area is going to get nailed with IVAN coming in....this is the area that I went on vacation last March...my family usually goes every year.
This is a small island about 2 miles off shore of the bay of Mobile. If this island gets hit..I highly doubt anything will be left since they are saying that waves right now off the shore about 100 miles are about 26 feet high. The island is long about 10 miles long but is only about 3000 feet wide in most parts.
It looks like one of those waves hit my basement :( lots of water down there, the dumpster showed up this morning also, I have a feeling I am going to be working my a$$ off today.
I found an original nintendo system in the basement, I know the actual machine doesn't work real well but the games might be ok. If anyone wants them, let me know.
just 4 games I guess, Contra,Castlevania, and 2 of them are a couple games on one cartridge, one has super mario bros, duck hunt and world class track meet. the other one is weird games- Boomerang kid, super robin hood, treasure island dizzy and Linus spacehead. I also have the gun that goes with duck hunt.
Oh, and 2 sega games, I have no idea where they came from since I never had sega, one is sonic pinball and I dont know what the other one is cuz the label is half gone but it has a space ship on it.
That Mario/Duck Hunt is the one that came with the system if I remember correctly. I think we have an old game or two in the attic too. Time for me to rent a dumpster sounds like.
you wouldn't believe the pile I have outside right now, I'll actualy be surprized if we get everything in there that we want to get rid of, and thats not including the big stuff cuz he is getting rid of that stuff at work.
i might actually pay good money to see that.

:( hope your ear feels better Kitch.
Have fun throwing things away LL- but don't forget EBay as you toss. and don't throw away anything HISTORY-think of ME2.
I must have missed it, but why you getting a dumpster, LL?

You're still gonna medallion hunt though, aren't ya?
not sure, If I keep my job I might be able to, otherwise I might just hang out on the boards and noodle with everyone :)
Hope you can still join us for the hunt LL we will miss you guys.

We got a dumpster when we moved too. It's amazing how much utter garbage you keep, thinking it might be useful someday.

It's looking good for whoever guessed the 14th.
OT... History of St Paul..depending on the book and year -it could be worth way more than the $50. I would need to see the cover. and who wrote it.

Way cooler! A baby on the way!!!!Â
Is ESD going to call anyone?!? How will we know?

I'd reccomend walking around Phalen, but I did that earlier, and came home soaking wet, because of the rain.

hmmm...the webcam looks like its down....reason...no broadband out there and the phone service is already down....

Doesn't look good for this small island.
I may be interested in the games LL, how many are there?
I'd be interested in the games too.
We have our old Nintendo up at the cabin.
The kids play it on rainy days.

I really miss the tecnofootball game...the one where the "therman thomas" was an awesome running back....

Just a little speed bump in IVAN's path....
Blades! Of! Steel!
<ka-ching!>
Oooh, I would love Contra or Castlevania. I remember playing those as a kid. Although I guess I still am a Kid ;)
Kitch that Island will be gone after Ivan hits it, whats it 1' above sea level?
speedbump??? I would say it's more like a pebble.... there won't be nothing left of it
joe
I hade to make a sign for school and now I am hungry I wonder why.
I'd say 2 feet...if that...90% of the houses are built on wooden stilts..to protect them from the flooding they get from all the tropical storms...
Â
http://www.dauphinisland.net/news/IVAN/tues%2014.htm here is some of the houses yesterday...kinda hard to see....
(OMG---25 people are staying!!! WTF Are they INSANE)
I'm telling you this is interesting because it WILL be gone.
Â
here is a bunch of the homes...(SHHHH) (don't tell anybody about the rental rates!!!!) http://www.dauphinisland.net/rentals/snowbird%20units.htm
I bet the rates are cheaper after Ivan is done with that area. LOL
If that place is still standing after the storm, I'm going to seriously consider booking a week! Beautiful!
Hope all goes well with your move up north.
I hope you remember though....
You can check out any time you want.....
But you can never leave! (the cooler crew)
Oh I'll still be here, even after I'm gone ;)
I think the weather station there is BROKE..it hasn't changed from 70 mph winds for a half hour...not even +/- 1 mph
working now is up to 98 mph gusts...I wonder how high the damn thing works?
