It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Diggers - good call - fits in with Hillcrest (and a lot of other parks).
I'm wondering about clue 7,'if you think of trees in a line' which could be a row or a grove ... 'from this a name will appear' perhaps the 'name' is found within the
answer, not necessarily what you might SEE from a vantage point of trees in a line.
We've been to Newell, Highland, and drove past Capitol Mall last night not really expecting anything...and then it hit like a ton of bricks. Those trees lined up on the
boulevard! John Ireland Boulevard. So many other things fit there and with the absence of picnic clues and playground clues, I'm finding that's my favorite idea yet.
Okay, (didn't have time to slog through the thousands of messages since yesterday - so forgive), Who was John Ireland? (thought he was connected to the cathedral
Cheryl - he was the bishop who was instrumental in building the cathedral - he has a boulevard named after him that runs by both the Capitol and Cathedral
Hi Spencer. When you say that tomorrow's clue will be big, do you mean the one that will come out tonight at 11:30, or Sunday night at 11:30? Why do you think
it'll be a big clue?
I'm thinking they're gonna tease us until we beg for mercy!!!
Eagle Eye, I agree, in the past we have to wait it out until nearly the end of the clues, remember people it's 10 grand this year, they won't just give it away easily.
All I can say is that the PP usually gives a clear reference to the park by clue #6 or #7 - and then subsequent clues help you narrow it down from there, either
through a word-play, anagram or something. This year, the clues have been somewhat bizarre since most of the clues fit many different parks (ie; HP, NP, MP, BC,
etc.). However, back in clue #4 - the only clear reference was given (as WELL in the NEW - Newell). It's at NP - otherwise they would have had a clearer
reference to anothre park by now - after all clue #8 (of 11) is coming out tonight.
Another theory - I think tonight's clue will be another vague clue so as keep people spread out and not take away from weekend carnival attractions. Instead,
Sunday night's clue (#9) is going to pull most of this stuff together.
Cheryl- i belive it is in newell or highland. #1 newell because in one of the clues it said "there is value as well in the new", new well, newell park. #2 is highland
because is matches up with all the clues, its to hard to right so ask me a question about why it is in highland.
I'm also still leaning towards como. Went out there late this afternoon, down CHURCHILL and found the USS Swordfish torpedo with the year 1945 on it. Can't
figure out why there would be such a site at Como, but going back to CHURCHILL, he was an inspirer for the resistance among free people. He was also involved
in teh struggle to rid communism ...does ICONOCLAST fit in here somewhere? Also, CHURCHILL was quite an author ... wrote tons and tons of things, TOME.
Am I going anywhere here, or just trying to make clues fit to my intuition? Feedback anyone?
Terry: I haven't slept yet. Had to go to a birthday dinner with my aunt - she is 87 years old! I need to sleep. Am kind of afraid I'll wake up to hear some reporter
saying its been found at (insert name of your favorite park here) right next to the (insert name of your favorite inanimate object here) at (insert time that is ten minutes
I was out at Newell today and Highland this evening. There wasn't anyone out. Where is everyone? And is anyone else as confused as me? Hey Fink you out
Diggers - good call - fits in with Hillcrest (and a lot of other parks).
yes who says it is outdoors?
all the clues add up to highland park but newell is an option

Hi Eags!
Any thoughts on Irvine Park?
no flame s- but what do you see?
Eagle Eye, I agree, in the past we have to wait it out until nearly the end of the clues, remember people it's 10 grand this year, they won't just give it away easily.
Hi Eags! Rested up?
I can hardly wait for the next clue....I need to be put out of my misery.

I don't think we can really narrow it to one park at this time.
Cheryl- i belive it is in newell or highland. #1 newell because in one of the clues it said "there is value as well in the new", new well, newell park. #2 is highland

Thought there were 12 clues?

Nothing but i was just wondering if i'm the only one using it.
How does the famous/tome line up with Highland?
it will be a big clue because it is sunday and the price of the paper is 1.50,so people wll buy the paper, more profit.
Flames, I have my Hudson here too...
lesB - Communism is against all religion and destroyed large quantities of Icons from the Russiona Orthodox church - they had to smuggle them out.
Flames is right! It's gotta be see train line. newell is across from the great northern railway...
Terry: I haven't slept yet. Had to go to a birthday dinner with my aunt - she is 87 years old! I need to sleep. Am kind of afraid I'll wake up to hear some reporter

after you left that spot).

Clue No. 4: Studying the past can be quite a blast
But there's value as well in the new

The treasure might belong to you
This is the clue that first sent people to Newell...and has that iconoclast in it. But it says if you're willing to be an iconoclast...
