It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

A park is the place a golf course is not. Need i say anymore it is in a park.
I think iconoclast has to do with whether YOU - Treasure-hunter - YOU are willing to be a destroyer. I think it has to do with what the treasure is hidden in andyou
may have to break it - whatever it is - open to get the medallion.

Iconoclast (as has been suggested) could refer to our rather "non-traditional" gov. Could be more evidence for TV's thoughts on the Capital Grounds or perhaps
refer to what the med is found in (i.e. Go Jesse!! Buttons).
With reference to "iconoclast"... I think we must note that the clue specifies "if YOU'RE willing to be an iconoclast." With that in mind, the SEARCHER is the
iconoclast and must break some long-standing tradition. Search high, low, inside, outside, in a totally new park, etc. Forget the references to others, it's you that's the
Re: Iconoclast - Like breaking open a small sealed treasure chest - similar to how they packaged the early medalions in the 1950's. What do ya think Terry?
Well - I will have plenty of time tomorrow to take a look around all of the parks - especially during the Super Bowl - Hopefully tonight's clue will be helpful!
Cheryl- learning is the highland high school accros the street form highland park. the trees, look anywhere to find trees in a line, but i sugest the street that is
imbetwen the golf course and the foot ball field. heading east there is a row of trees to your right and half into the block there is a name marv ( somthing or other).
I think anything is possible including thinking outside the box as in park is always named a park...I like the Jesse button idea! That's thinking outside the box.
I hate to break the news to everyone who thinks that it is across the street from highland High School, but that is PRIVATE property, not public. They can't hide it
I was at NP and MP tonight - like them both. 9-5-----4 at Merriam could be right across the street from the main entrance and parking lot is a house address of
395 (9-5) and the parking lot is clearly in the shape of a "4" (somewhere a "4") - Interesting, but it's still going to be at NP. Why? Because 9-5-----4 is the KEY!
Cheryl, That just must be in a copy of whatever you're looking at. It is not seperated on the PP medallion clue page or in the paper version from last Sunday. Must
Since they were ready to release it hours before 11:30... The editor(s) sure messed up then.... Course last year there was a typo in spelling which they corrected....
9-5 should adorn a door, the "4" is somewhere else. Need to read the clue #3 better. All this about 9 people on a baseball team, 5 people on hockey - that's not it.
Neither is the KS95 thing. Read clue #3 better - it's the key to the vicinity of the medallion - the park has already been named.
Guys, hubby is dragging me off to see a movie, so won't be back until later..... May drive by a park or two to scope things out... Any suggestions? (I know: Capital,
Queen - because you need to be in view of the 9-5 and somehere a "4" when you're diggin. 9-5----4 doesn't locate a particular park. It locates you in the part of the
park you need to be at. It's a classic "vicinity" clue. I've seen the vciinities both at NP and MP. But I'm convinced it's at NP - was out there diggin today - but the
"vicinity" is only about a 100 yard square area of the park. But still alot of area to cover.

hey jake, a park is the spot, but a golf course is not...
The 9and5...KS95...and somewhere a 4...is a frequency of 94.5. Just rambling...what do you think?
And it has the numbers 954 on it somewhere?
The clue writer this year is sure clever! This is driving me over the edge.

I will see what happens at 11:30 tonite. Cya later.
Queen: What time were you at Newell? I was there from 2PM to 4PM.
I too noticed that few people were out looking for the medallion! I wonder what gives.
Re: Iconoclast - Like breaking open a small sealed treasure chest - similar to how they packaged the early medalions in the 1950's. What do ya think Terry?
Sorry guys, what about iconoclast, referring to Vulcan?
I don't know either. I thought it might have been found at first. I was at newell about 6 pm
okay, open question: is there a street named after an athlete near a "public place" in St. Paul?
Things that have happened in STP this year... Wabasha bridge opened, Civic center dismantled, new Governor, (anything I missed?)
Right on - Chaz D!!
nobody is out because nobody knows where to go

Catch you all later - and Happy Hunting!

Woodduck, Birdie, or 10g's - you out there??

there. Thats why its fenced in on three sides
Cheryl what do you think????????????
Kids in bed am I outta here to dig. Good luck to you all.
One last (Stupid) question: Why is the last line of the 2nd Stanza of the first clue separated from the first three lines???
Could "See Train Line" (from trees in a line) refer to Newell, Como, or Linwood?

EE, what gives is that all the people are spread out over 20 or 30 parks and the park across the street from where they live, work or play.
We all have our best guess, but nobody knows.
Spencer, how about the 9,5,4.... Sports references, address or something else?
its a typo
Cheryl- sports, my guess is there are 9 payers on a baseball team, 5 on a hockey team and 4 on a golf team, if you think other wise please tell me????
Cheryl, That just must be in a copy of whatever you're looking at. It is not seperated on the PP medallion clue page or in the paper version from last Sunday. Must
be a formatting error.

cs, original post was not that way.
Golden why is 4 the key?
The 5 players would better fit a basketball team (any bball courts?)
There are six players on a hockey team. 5 and a goalie!
Cheryl?????????
9-5 should adorn a door, the "4" is somewhere else. Need to read the clue #3 better. All this about 9 people on a baseball team, 5 people on hockey - that's not it.

hey golden boy, what is 9-5---4?
EE or TV, is Green at the TCCS?
think so
golden boy are you stil stuck on NP
Cheryl: Green posted this morning that she was headed for the TCCS. Im not sure how late it lasts.
Cheryl - Yes that's right. But that should be over with for today. I wonder where she is. Maybe out digging?
Spencer How about "goal" in clue 5; "from this a name will appear" in clue 7???
golden boy what park then and how??????
Yesiree, then our buddy Green is probably out diggin.....
Goin' fro to snooze. *Maybe* see ya around 11:30.
Guys, hubby is dragging me off to see a movie, so won't be back until later..... May drive by a park or two to scope things out... Any suggestions? (I know: Capital,
